Very interesting and eclectic place. I am a fan of the interior decor which has a Halloween vibe to it. They have an entire drink menu devoted to absinthe which is cool if your into that plus lots of craft beers. They offer a variety of menu items but have delicious burgers! read more

Love! Love! Love! The staff are personable, amazing table service, and the atmosphere is homey and comforting! Their menu offers a wide range of foods including a vegetarian menu which is hard to come by without also battling with outrageous pricing. I'm a regular here (every Saturday to be specific) I have a preferred table and the waitress has my order memorized. Did I mention how amazing the staff were? Because they're amazing. From the moment you step in you become family to them. It's good for families or a first date. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal and a good experience. Really mix feelings on this review. First to walk in and from a bright outside it took a while for eyes to adjust. They went to sit us at a darker table and had to move to one that had a little table lamp. Before sitting they told us the specials, please let us sit. Many speciality drinks, just give me a plan drink. The appetizer was something with cheese, when it came out the cheese could not be cut,but was ok. My dinner was the speciality hamburger, yes big, but after the first bite nothing special. I'm changing my review because I've seen an improvement in service and food recently. Although I still don't care for the veggie burger, their other vegan food is amazing. I ordered a medium well NY strip which ended up coming out extremely pink and my friend's steak was cold once it came out to the table. The entrees also took entirely too long to come out. Our waitress was nice but aside from that, the whole experience left much to be desired. I enjoyed this place much more under the previous regime. Went here on a whim with my wife and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Not quite sure how to explain but a cup of goth, dash of Halloween, and a drop of funeral parlour and mix well. Service was very very friendly, a bit slow on the delivery of food, but special requests were pulled off without flaws. Burgers are what seems what many get and wife had one before that said was very good. This visit we had a few other items and all were solid and well worth their price (and I felt prices were reasonable). Some items on menu were creative, but also plenty of pub style take offs as well. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Parking does kind of stink. My advice is park against the courthouse area. This neighborhood is changing for the better, but parts still have a way to go. read more

The prices are acceptable for what you get but there are a ton of theme gastro pub type places around the area. Its just too far from me for me to want to go again. One of my favorite places in Easton. It has a Gothic, Halloween decor, which is definitely unique for the area. They also have a great absyinthe selection, which I don't know any other place in the Lehigh Valley that can match that. Get the black and blue burger paired with a glass of Weyerbacher Insanity. Black and Blue is an absolute gem and an anomaly. If you give this place any less than 4 stars, then you probably shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. I love a great craft beer spot as much as the next person, but many of them seem to have a similar vibe, atmosphere and clientele. Not Black and Blue - this place is completely unique. The decor is dark and gothic, yet amazingly comfortable. All the bartenders and servers and fun and friendly. The food is AMAZING, highlighted by the best vegan nachos known to mankind, and the super-creative weekend specials. Come on Thursdays, and they will play any vinyl records you bring in. I was not impressed with my visit: long waits for food, extremely limited food menu, and overpriced beer.

This was my second time visiting. The first time I did not enjoy my meal at all, but I decided to give it a second try. First my Coke was flat-- but that happens at a lot of places. My appetizer was awful-- the pork mac & cheese. Would rather have been served Kraft out of a box. Tasted like nothing. The cheese was not good and the orecchiette was disappointing. Fish & chips was the worst meal i've ever been served in my life. Not what I was expecting and no matter how much vinegar I used I still could not consume this huge chunk of tasteless fish that looked about the size of a forearm. If it was prepared correctly perhaps I could have enjoyed it. However my friends enjoyed their burgers, could be the only thing they have going for them here. read more

I placed a to-go order. When I got there, I went up to the bar to pay. There were 4 employees behind the bar and not one of them acknowledged me for 15 minutes. I was literally waving my phone and calling the bartenders to get someone to attend to me. I saw food come out and placed on the bar. Thinking it was my order, I yelled one more and got the bartender. He rudely told me I was in the wrong place and to move from the bar. This was after 15 minutes of him and another employee sitting at the bar and entertaining two women. When I informed this bartender I needed to pay and that my food had been sitting at the bar, (in front of him for 15 minutes), he proceeded to be sarcastic with me: "see, look...you didn't die. You're still strong." While the comment wasn't exactly offensive, it was EXTREMELY disrespectful. Poor service. The bartender was a shortish balding Latino man. I didn't get his name, but if anyone at Black and Blue reads this, those employees, the short balding one in particular, are horrible servers. I love that they have an interesting drink menu and vegan options however our service was not good. We were forgotten. Our dinner never arrived. Waitress passed by once and apologized for delay, did not ask if we wanted another cocktail so we killed time (he went out for a smoke, I waited a bit then went to restroom) we returned to a cleared table with new customers sitting there! I hate to change my review but, our most recent visit was just awful. We had a decent amount of people and than more people ended up coming 30 min later. Their food came out well before everyone else's and than when ours finally did it wasn't all together. Some people waited almost an hour to receive their dinner. And the same goes with our drinks. We ended up leaving angry and not eating our food because by the time it came we needed to leave. Not in a hurry to come back anytime soon. read more

I was really excited to try Black & Blue cause a friend raves about it. It started off great (which is why they got 3 stars instead of 1). The cauliflower wings were out of this world. Their homemade cosmopolitan was delicious. But then came dinner. I should have sent it back but it was date night so I didn't complain, just kindly took it home with me and to the trash. I had the seafood pasta dish and the pasta was way over cooked. I had to put salt and pepper on it because it had absolutely no flavor. After about 3 bites I was done. Couldn't do it. My boyfriend has the paella. His rice reminded me of Chinese fried rice. No joke. Maybe we just caught them on an off night but it was definitely not worth the $80 bill. First, let's begin with the positive. Best Nacho appetizer I have ever had and most of the staff are very friendly. In addition, prior to this last visit the food was good. However, on 2/15/14 my daughter and I went there for dinner and I was very disappointed by the service from the waitress (blond & numerous tattoos). This was my 3rd visit and daughter's 1st. I ordered red wine and she had white...I thought it was a little odd that when the waitress put my daughter's glass of wine on the table, water or some other clear liquid was dripping from the glass. Since I'm someone who like to see "the glass half full" I thought at least we know the glass is clean. We ordered the Nacho appetizer which was great! Then for the main meal we decided to share the Black & Blue hamburger Medium Well...about an hour after we placed the order we were brought the hamburger. The fries were rubbery and very cold. The hamburger was burn to a char, so much so that it had a solid bottom and was bitter to the taste and it was very greasy as if it was thrown in a deep fryer. We took one bite and gagged! Disgusting! I respectfully expressed our disappointment to a very nice young lady (who was acting like the blond's damage control specialist) and she told the manager with the rainbow color hair who apologized and took the hamburger off the bill. Went there for my friends birthday. We had reservations for 7:30..We waited for a good half hour before anyone even came over to us and get our drink orders. Then we waited some more..by 8:30 we had not even received our drinks. We we're so upset with the service that we almost just got up and left. The waitress didn't even apologize for the wait. If you like to be mistreated and overcharged, Black and Blue is for you. We met friends here Saturday night with the expectation of Which Brew's revival. Apparently, we expected too much. From the snarky bartenders to the disappointing food, we left dissatisfied and will not return. My boyfriend ordered a Java stout and the bartender informed us they had run out of it, but recommended one off the beer list without informing us of the price difference. Our friends, who arrived after us, tried it and liked it and ordered it as well. We were absolutely shocked to find out the beers we had ordered were $12+. Our bill came to $360 (including tip) for 6 people to share appetizers, sandwiches and a few drinks. The sandwiches were small (we were not told by our waitress they should not be shared even though we ordered them to be), the mussels tasted completely unseasoned and the nachos were nothing in comparison to the Which Brew ones. The frites were okay and the one person who ordered a burger was not complaining (although he had to ask for crumpled blue cheese for his black and blue burger instead of the dressing that was offered). So, if you'd like to leave a restaurant feeling monetarily and emotionally 'Black & Blue', check it out. read more

Our new favorite place in Easton! Love the dark, gothic tavern feel - and the place is blissfully devoid of a TV! We visited the first time on a whim after not being able to get a seat at Dubs in Wilson - I had read about B&B for some time but for some reason never made it over there. Since our first visit, we've been back just about every weekend, either just the two of us or with friends, and it's been a pleasure each visit! We're working our way through the menu but have not been disappointed on a single item! The Pommes Frights (fries) are to die for. And the prices are comparable to a lot of the sports bars in the area, while offering a much more unique and intimate experience! read more

We walked in with a reservation and even though it was crowded there were no staff in the dining area. We waited a while then walked in the back to tell staff we were waiting to be seated. They eventually sat us then ignored us for 30 minutes. I got up to get menus. No one greeted us. No one brought water or checked in. Staff walked by and purposely avoided eye contact. We approached them twice over the 30 minute period to tell them we were waiting but still no one came by. We looked around at other people who were also waiting quietly. On occasion staff peered out curiously from the back room where they were all gathered as if they were just as confused as we were that anyone stayed. It made me wonder what staff were doing back there such that they had no time to provide any service. After 30 minutes at the table with nary a glance from staff we left. I have no idea how this place has any business. Clearly they have no respect for their customer base or an understanding that they actually have to provide service to stay in business. read more

Food is yummy and drinks are nice, but my concern is the health and safety precautions that are clearly not being taken. The staff members do not wear their masks properly - many below the nose or on their chins. Saw my bartender make me a drink without even wearing the mask!!! Who knows what they do in the kitchen? WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC PEOPLE! Also, the inside was packed - it was definitely over capacity. While I understand live music and dancing is fun, it shouldn't be putting others at risk. People dancing around with no masks and acting like we aren't in the middle of a pandemic, like seriously? If one single person in the restaurant had the coronavirus, I can guarantee at least half of the people there got it. I'm honestly really worried myself since there was a lack of social distancing and precautions being taken. Will not be going back any time soon simply due to the lack of hygiene and consideration being taken in times like this. Very upset. read more

We too had a problem with wanting a drink, non carbonated and had to settle for tap h20. This really is UN-like most other places comparable in the city. I have no idea why this is so difficult for them. We were never offered the evening special (had looked prior on line) just handed a menu and clearly not updated from the prior time we were in. For the price and the food there simply are other places better in town. The decor could really be improved by a simple trip to a flea market instead of so much new fake things. We get what you are going for but tack too? It's quite a shame. We really wanted to give this place a try and it's not worth it. read more

I'm sad to write a 1 star review for this restaurant because it used to be a favorite. This was our second time there after new management took over. The first time was when they first opened. By now they have had time to get things worked out but unfortunately they haven't. Our experience tonight was less than 1 star - the pleasant attitude of the waitress was the only thing to bring it up to a 1. There has been a significant drop in the quality of the food. Four out of six people were served items that were over cooked, over salted or burnt. The sweet potato chips were almost black, dry and over salted. When a complaint was given, the waitress replied that she told the cook they would be coming back when she saw them. She returned with a bowl of French fries with more than half over cooked and brittle. The ones at the bottom of the bowl were charred black. The hamburger was charred as well, dry, missing the tomato, and topped with one piece of wilted lettuce. The pulled pork sandwich was a lot of bread and not much pork. The chili bread bowl was served in a porcelain bowl with some bread on the plate and burnt cheese on top. The nacho had vegetarian chili on top that seemed to be reheated multiple times - it was dark and dry. It was nothing like the nachos we used to get. To top off a bad meal, it was so cold inside we had to sit with our coats on throughout. The waitress apologized and said she was turning up the heat. But so much cold air was coming out of the floor vent, we had to cover it with menus. Black and Blue used to have an extensive beer list with a varied menu and a good selection of vegetarian items. The food was always flavorful and served with an appetizing presentation. That is no longer the case. This used to be one of my favorite spots but I doubt that I will go back. That's sad. read more
