Old school institution in Easton PA. I spent many a Friday and Saturday here when I was at Lafayette. Porters was also known as "my meal plan". Small venue with nice beer selection If you have the time, do the mug club, I have number 408 and 554. My son had his tour and interview at Lafayette so I took him here for lunch. The chili was great, followed by The Porter sandwiches. I ordered it correctly with thousand island dressing. My son decided to try it with mustard..... Thanks to Calvin for the great service. Best burger I have ever had. And I've been around and had plenty of burgers, but this one is number one on the list!!! I went there not knowing what to expect and they totally outdid themselves. Bacon cheeseburgers, steak sandwiches, fries coleslaw. Number one!!!! Waitress was super nice!! Atmosphere was great. Came here twice in just a span of a few days because ir was THAT good! And we are planning on coming back when we back in the area. We came on a Thursday afternoon and had the French dip - my first French dip and it hit the spot! The bread was warm and soft, the sandwich was perfectly seasoned well along with the au jus. The only thing - I wish I had more coleslaw on the side. We had the Arnold Palmer drink but it was too sour for my liking but the food was DELICIOUS. Brought my family back her for a rehearsal lunch as we got married in Easton and they all loved it as well. Thank you to Porter's for accommodating us 8 without a reservation. We called in advance and they gave us a time to come. They do take reservations in case anyone is wondering. I wasn't so sure until the day of but I'm happy they were able to accommodate us even if not everyone wanted to come they were very friendly and professional about it all. :) The second time I came here I had the arugula and beet salad -- Y U M ! I want that again when we come back! And I shared the turkey apple sandwich with was okay, not my favorite but I loved the freshness and quality ingredients of it. The French onion soup was also delicious and a must on a chilly day or any day if you like soup at any time. Very good experience, took a drive from Bucks Co. Worth the trip, food and atmosphere were great. Service was terrific.

The Celtic jam on a Wednesday night was enjoyable. The ambiance is an old-style Irish(ish) back alley community pub. The service was quick if not, too quick in that we had our appetizer for only a little time when they brought the entrees. There was not enough room so we ended the app early to accommodate their timing. The Hefeweizen wasn't cold and the water tasted like tap. The Mediterranean appetizer tasted like a few things that came out of cans and they didn't provide the Pita bread the menu claimed was part of it. The Portobello sandwich lacked flavor and was dry and the Portobello salad was fresh but also lacking. We honestly came in because of the sign saying there was a Celtic jam fest (which was lovely) but it was the only reason for us to stay. I did like the ambiance and I did think the servers were decent people but the food was just not good so I doubt we would be back. Perhaps this is a great place to pull up to the bar when they get the coolers working right. read more

Was very busy for brunch on a recent Sunday. Got an Irish coffee and Bloody Mary to drink. Both got corned beef hash. Not the best, but was good. Only complaint was that the service (while friendly) was incredibly slow and they also up charged us $3 for gluten free toast without telling us about the charge. read more

I've been here several times, and we really like the bar and bar staff. There is great beer and liquor selections. Once you check off all the beers in their list, you earn a mug, as pictured. Food wise, we started with the chili which was fantastic and the chicken noodle soup, also delicious. Then we had the Apple Turkey Cheddar Melt Sandwich which was Very good and the Tuscany Chicken which was Amazing. The side of the day was veggie orzo, also delicious. We showed up right around 2pm on a Sunday, still an hour left to order off the brunch menu. We sat right away, waitress took our drink order. Took about 15/20 minutes for our drinks to make it to our table. I got a regular Bloody Mary, which was up there with one of the best ones I've ever had. My husband had a 1/2 and 1/2 since both beers were on tap. To eat, my husband ordered the chili and pulled pork with a honey mustard pasta salad on the side. I ordered the duck sausage eggs Benedict (came with potatoes). It took another 15/20 minutes for the chili to come out, it was barely warm. In the mean time, I ordered another Bloody Mary. At this point, two other tables of four had been seated not long after us. I noticed at 3 pm that the two other tables already had gotten their food, ate and were getting ready to leave. We were still waiting on the rest of our food. My husband said the pulled pork was good. But he said you could tell it sat under a heat lamp too long, the top part of the roll was dried out. His honey mustard pasta salad was really good. When my order was put in front of me, I really couldn't believe what I was looking at. The eggs are supposed to be poached. These were basically hard boiled. The duck sausage was disgusting salty and the potatoes were very cold. My guess is that the waitress was more concerned with those two other tables of four than she was with us. I had asked for a water and we finally asked again about 45 minutes later and another waitress brought it to us. When I pointed out how my food was, the waitress took it back and I ended up changing it to regular eggs Benedict. You can see in the pictures how everything looked. Overall, would we go back, yes, just not during brunch. I think I would rather drink there than eat there. The menu for drinks was extensive. Otherwise the bar was cool, the mugs hanging from the ceiling was a lot to take in lol. The building is super old, so that made it cozy. But the one thing that annoyed me the most, was that we didn't even receive an apology from our waitress. For me, that goes a loooong way. We were never asked how our food was at all the whole time we were there. I had to wave our waitress down to send my food back. Maybe taking off one item from the bill would have been an acknowledgment of the fuck up other than just replacing it. My husband and I are very generous tippers. I believe this is the first time we actually left a shitty tip. I really wish it didn't go the way it did. read more

Great place for a meal or a date night. The food is really good and there some very unique items as well. The beer selection is one of the main reasons to come. They have a beer club where if you try all 60+ beers on a set list you get a pewter mug of your own. All the mugs hang from the ceiling and can be taken down at the owners request. We were there when one guy earned his mug and they rang a bell and made an announcement and it was a big deal! Such fun. read more

Nice fresh food, finely crafted drinks and amazing bartenders, definitely join the mug club if you plan on trying the enormous selection of beers they have. Only downside is the place is rather small so first come first serve get here early if you want a seat! Worst experience ever there tonight. We have been to this restaurant several times and tonight was awful. Service was horrible. Food was horrible. Server told us they ran out of there normal steak and they had to substitute but never told us. Steak was so tough you couldn't eat. And when we told the male server his response was F'@!! You than, wow I have been in the service industry for over 40 years and never have I had an employee or fellow employee tell a customer F'@!! You!!!! No star rating this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant! You should be ashamed to have staff like this. Updating from previous review: have been here a few times since quarantine. They could not have made ordering online and picking up any easier! The food does not lose any quality between the kitchen and my dining room table which is quite a feat. Most recently my husband and I were able to have brunch in their brand new beer garden. We ordered take out and were able to sit up top with fresh brunch and cold beers & bloody Mary's. First off there is only street parking which can be a pain. The place looks like a cool old pub inside. The waitress was real nice and good at her job. I had the Blackeye, it was off the charts good. My friends wife had the Irish Cod which she said was very good. But was not happy with the portion. My wife and friend both had the Corned Beef. Here is where the 3 stars come into play. It was like shoe leather ! How can you have an Irish Pub and not have good Corned Beef. No lie, they couldn't cut it with their knives. The owner can came out and said he was sorry. He gave us free dessert, but it doesn't make up for the fact the Corned Beef was horrible. Get a Sous Vide and a huge pot. 10 hours at 180° and it falls apart. The cut of the meat also has a lot to do with it. Would I go back, sure my meal was great. This is why the Irish drink, the food sucks ! read more

Stumbled on this pub while looking for a place to eat when we were at a antiques fair in NJ. The atmosphere is great , service was excellent and was informative about the large and in depth selection of beers. I had Belgium ale and it smooth. I had corned beef sandwich and it was excellent. Olivia was wonderful! Sat at the bar and immediately felt at home. The people sitting around me were chatty and welcoming. I started with a Jameson Black Barrel on the rocks while I decided what to eat. I am a self proclaimed Egg Benedict expert, and they have several versions on the menu. I ordered the Duck bacon sausage eggs Benedict. It did NOT disappoint!! The sausage was well flavored and of course the eggs were perfectly poached. It came with beautiful potatoes and onions. I then got a Bloody Mary. It comes as either regular or garlic. I got the Garlic and asked for it spicy. It was delicious!! It came with a garlic shrimp, olive, cheese, and celery. I decided to ask if Olivia had a recommendation, and she told me about the Mackillroy(sp). It's a whiskey Arnold Palmer basically. The whiskey is Slane Irish Whiskey, and it has a very unique flavor. I got the bourbon peach smash and it was delicious!! They had their St patty's day menu this day and we shared the bangers and mash appetizer. OMG, it was to die for. The bangers were juicy, the mashed potatoes were homemade with a delicious gravy. My partner had the crab cake sandwich with the side of the day, which was an Asian sweet/spicy macaroni salad that was very unique and tasty. The pub dip was also yummy. I've been going to porters for years with my family, and am a proud mug holder! The mug challenge is fun and keeps us coming back for a few beers, and I've never had a bad experience with the food.
