Disappointed. Just got a very small tattoo that was done in 10 minutes and got charged $100!

Horrible customer service, got charged more than I was originally told! Tattoo came out horrible and I now have to get it fixed somewhere else thanks a lot! Would go anywhere else to get a tattoo. read more

If I could give 0 stars... I would. I got a cartilage piercing on my mid helix and the piercing & healing process was painful, sleeping was horrible, and I kept getting reoccurring bumps filled with blood/pus. I did research and went to a quality piercer who told me the 316L surgical steel barbell was the worst thing I could have in my ear & i'm not the only one who's came to them from black cloud! the jewelry is cheap and you shouldn't have a long curved barbell for a straight piercing. they replaced my piercing with a IMPLANT GRADE TITANIUM FLAT BACK that was much shorter & my piercing immediately stopped paining once the earring was removed as well as within a few days my piercing healed. it's scary to know there's black clouds in every mall & they're using unsafe jewelry as well as charging so much money for a piercing you may not be able to keep. read more

YAS. YAS. YAS. this place is awesome! I came a few months back to let them look at rook piercing I got done somewhere else. They were very honest and told me not to change it and keep cleaning it to allow it to heal. Fast forward a few months I come back in with a friend and end up getting a conch done. Had a great experience and felt great about. Of course it's a piercing and your sticking a needle in your body but over all not painful. I went here to get a tattoo with a friend, her and I both had the same artist between 2 days. The tattoo artist did not speak any English and used cheap materials in order to give us our tattoos. My friend had to have hers completely redone and mine is scared beyond repair. I this was my 15th tattoo and I have never had any tattoo get infected scab and pus up like this one. Don't go here for a tattoo. Go to Charlotte or Columbia with accredited artists. read more

Terrible experience. Waited a half hour with one customer ahead of me for a simple jewelry change. Piercer was a young girl who dropped pieces of my jewelry on the floor multiple times and did such a clumsy job changing my piercings that they still hurt now, many days later. She was rude and spacey throughout the entire experience. Do not go here. read more

Since it opened in Carolina Place mall I've gotten a total of 8 piercings done by the same guy, Russell! He is the most amazing piercer I have EVER had. He cares about you and what you want and is very humorous! If you have a young child who wants to get their ears pierced I HIGHLY recommend Russell! A friendly attitude when initially speaking with a tattoo artist goes a long way .. in other words I kindly in the best way rejected (lied) and walked out due to the artist constant eye rolling and tense negative energy. I'm a small girl why would I want a big negatively tensed guy with an attitude working on me? I can't have an rude guy putting something permanent on my skin which is why I left after speaking with him. I also in the end asked him to let me take a pic to show to my fiancé and he didn't want to let me take a pic just Incase I was going to have someone steal his design lol I cracked a smile because this dude is literally worried about someone stealing his artwork when all he had drawn was a bow and arrow which I told him to draw with my digits and he literally had an issue with me taking a pic of it where as the other tattoo artist didn't have an issue yeah won't be back. Also I had got an estimate from a different tattoo place for what I wanted done they were trying to charge me 80 because it's a very small tattoo however this place wanted 120. I brought my 14yr old daughter to Russell based on Yelp reviews. He did not disappoint. He pierced 4 lobes & a naval for her. The process was easy & he was kind, jovial and a great sense of humor while interjecting real world discussion like after care. He gave us a card with his text number should we have any questions. After researching options in Charlotte, I came into the Carolina Place location this afternoon. They only do piercings, so they have a great selection of piercing jewelry to choose from. As soon as any customer walked into the shop Russel was happily greeting and chatting with them, putting everyone at ease. He was very patient with the teenage girl in front of me and didn't get exasperated or rush her when she changed her mind a few times selecting her piercing jewelry. When it was my turn, I told Russel the style of earring I was looking for and he located it immediately. My new earring is perfectly spaced with my other piercings and looks great. I get the impression these folks will spend as much or as little time as you need to help you figure out the piercing location, jewelry and aftercare. I'm a happy customer. read more

I walked into Black Cloud after doing some shopping in the Carolina Place Mall. Quite a few of my friends recommended this place so I decided to check it out. The woman at the register (I didn't catch her name) was SO friendly and encouraging, and ultimately calmed me down enough to follow through with my piercings. Russell, the piercer, was incredible. He took me through each step so that I would know what to expect, and made sure to check up on me throughout the process. They took me through the aftercare procedures, and I was in and out in about 30 mins tops. Also, Russell sent a follow up message thanking me and encouraging me to reach out if anything ever came up or if I had any questions. Want a real specialist, rather focused on doing something right, than many "just ok". Don't go anywhere else! What a great experience. Russ is a smooth operator, great demeanor, and an ability to make you at ease and let the anxiety fade away. He even has a teddy bear (with piercing too) if you feel you need to hug something (either like the little girls before us who was having one ear pierced, or if you are an adult just in need of something to comfort you). At no charge he removed the badly done piercing, almost painlessly (even though it was hurting and bleeding really bad before). My sister and I went to the Black Cloud Tattoo and Piercing in Carolina Place Mall. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! As we are both 71 years of age, we were a little apprehensive as we have not grown up with all of the piercings that are done today. Having said this, the people could not have been nicer. We were greeted by Hays who was very nice and made us feel welcome. We only wanted a single piercing on already pierced lobes. Russell was the one to do our piercing. Dont go to russel for a cartalige piercing both of mine were pierced at the wrong angle i had to go to another piercing shop to get it fixed one of them couldnt be saved and the other one still bothers me to this day. I took care of them well cleaned with salt water, there was nothing i could do to save them. Never healed correctly and i have scar knots in my ear that hurt if u touch them after 7 months of being removed. read more

I was recently visiting my best friend in Charlotte. I have been pondering having a third hole pierced in my ears as well as a helix (mid cartilage) piercing. I saw good reviews of Stephanie and since I am a little nervous around needles, I wanted someone I could trust. I called ahead of time and was told I could just walk in. Stephanie was fantastic. She spent some time deciding exactly where to place the third hole (as my 2nd hole isn't quite even and I didn't want to have that pierced again) and discussed with me the placement and why she thought it was best. I felt extremely comfortable with her. She was kind and I enjoyed the experience. I barely felt anything when she made the piercings. Once she made the marks of where the piercings were going, it only took a couple of minutes to pierce them! Everything was sterile and she took it out of the packaging right in front of me. DO NOT GO HERE. Went here to get my helix pierced about 7 weeks ago and the who pierced was wonderful but the results were not so great. After 6 weeks of lots of pain and irritation I went back into a piercing shop (different shop) to get them looked at. The worker there told me my piercing were done COMPLETELY wrong. not only did they put eyebrow jewelry in my ear, the wrong gauge size was used which created lots of swelling and irritation. Im sorry but even though Black Cloud has some wonderful staff, i would not recommend getting anything done here. read more
