On top of that, I asked to get some areas redone that were previously marked and they're completely off-center. Now I have dark black circles next to old faded ones across my body. Went to Black Cloud Tattoo's at Comcord Mills Mall to get a tattoo of my mother for Mothers Day and ended up being cheated by the so called tattoo artist and store manager. For starters, the tattoo artist ( Tina) didn't speak English too well and was slightly temperamental. I decided to ignore that red flag and proceeded to get a tattoo with Tina anyway... Long story short, the tattoo wasn't that great because she used way too much shadow on my mothers portrait but I let that slide and moved on to the next red flag After 6 hours of mutilating my arm with her over shadowing, Tina decided she had enough and insisted that I come back in two weeks to finish up... Didn't even realize that was a red flag UNTIL... Two weeks later I go back to the same Black Cloud Tattoos to finish my tattoo but before we could get started Tina began demanding an extra $400 on top of the $800 I already paid her. Even tho we agreed the entire tattoo would only cost a hefty $800 When I complained to the store manager about this unethical bait and switch the manager and owner( Lucy Roman) said Tina could charge what she wanted to charge and that I signed a waiver stating that I agreed to those terms.. I personally never heard of an agreement where switch and bait was apart of a business agreement so I didn't think to look for that provision. In any case, Im looking into legal options to get my money back but in the meantime I hope others take heed to the red flags that I ignored with Black Cloud Tattoos unless you want " sucker " tattooed on your forehead.‍ read more

Danny took good care of me. I needed a piercing change with a very irritated piercing from another shop. He took time to clean it and explain the process. He took the time to show me the jewelry and changed gloves 3 times in all to clean, place jewelry, and also to pick out jewelry. Kind as well - I'll be back for my next one. Thanks to the manager Amanda, I can't give this place ENOUGH stars! I've been researching a place to take my 14 year old daughter to get a nose piercing. I was looking for evident experience, professionalism and customer service. I get that may have been asking for a lot but I'm glad I didn't settle because our experience with Black Cloud encompassed all of those! First of all, their website is actually a functioning website with current and sufficient information. This is apparently not a common thing. Secondly, when I called someone actually answered the phone, also not common. (You can even text to the same number)Thirdly, not only did someone answer the phone I was able to talk directly to a manager. Amanda was upbeat, friendly, thorough when answering my questions and acted like she really cared if we gave them our business and more importantly that we had a good experience. I felt good about taking her there and stopped in the next day to see what kind of vibe I got. They were pretty busy but not in a chaotic way. I was easily acknowledged with minimal wait. The person I spoke with gave me the same info Amanda did over the phone which made me feel good. She was very personable and professional. I was sold and brought my daughter back the very next day for her first piercing. They only take walkins and open at noon. We got there at 1pm on a Friday. Good timing because there was no wait. Amanda acknowledged us immediately and walked us through signing the underage waiver online. She was funny, personable, professional and I was delighted when I realized she was doing the piercing. She was so confident and her personableness put both my daughter and me at ease. She explained everything she was going to do before she did it. It took a few seconds. This place was clean, parking seemed to fit clientele. Amanda wore a mask and gloves during the piercing. Her nose piercing was $40 and we bought the saline solution not sure about the cost but our total was $53. I don't know if I'll ever get a piercing or tattoo but if I do I won't hesitate to go to Black Cloud. They have multiple locations and clearly know what they are doing. I've always wanted a hoop nose ring but had no idea how to choose or install one. I called and asked if they had them, she gave me the price and details and I showed up within in 5 min. You knock on the door when they get there, I was greeted and asked what color I wanted. She did a quick look at my nose hole and picked out a ring for me. Went back, sat in the chair, pulled my mask down exposing my nose but covering my mouth and it took like 45 seconds to put in. I paid, did some small chat and left a happy customer. Amazing and professional people over at the Concord Mills NC location. Been here twice for my Septum piercing by Morgan and 2nd lobe piercing by Christian. Both are healing in very nicely so far and I've been keeping up with cleaning with saline solution and turning/ moving them twice daily. Morgan took care and wrote out the healing instructions for my septum on the back of my receipt and she even told me I had a slight deviation before piercing me. Christian was super down to earth and was easy for me to talk to about my piercing experience. My best friend and I decided to get spur of the moment piercings and decided to call this place and inquire. We were going to get our belly buttons re pierced and were told it was $45 with a basic ring. We arrived at this studio since it was the closest to my friends apartment. This location is the smallest out of all their locations, and unless you are really looking for this location, you can easily miss it and drive right past it. They do have parking in the back, which we did as the right, was small and already parked with cars. We walked inside, and there were quite a few people sitting down waiting to get something done. We arrived around 2:30pm and were seen about 3:10ish. There were two people in front of us who were getting piercings as well. Daniel, the piercer was awesome! EZ the great was my tat artist. It's much better if you give him an idea and let him do what he does best and put his ideas to the board your skin. If it's a larger project he'll draw it out on a sketch diagram and I honestly couldn't be happier leaving my idea to his artistic touch. Took my 11 year old to have her ears pierced and had a horrible experience in the pineville location. The girl that took us back had to pierce her ear three times because the earring kept coming out in the back when she went to put the backing on.she also tried to force it back in at first which was extremely painful. she ended up having to call someone else to come and do it. My child sat perfectly quiet but her entire body was shaking because it was such a horrible experience. we were given zero aftercare instructions and were never even asked to sign a waiver. I was trying to stay calm to help my daughter and did not want to make a scene in the moment or cause any more trauma. When we got home, I had to call a different piercing studio to ask for aftercare instructions and what they thought I should do. I originally picked black cloud because the reviews were good online. First I went to shop up the road. Talked to them got told a standard price is 100hr. They couldn't get me in I called plaza location and went there. I got me and my buddy a tatto. I was thinking it was 100hr They never told me price. When it was all said and done and I did stay a lil longer after hours. I dont know if that's why they tax me but I got charged 200 hour. That's bad business and not right. These tattos aren't worth the 300 I paid for my buddy and 700 for myself. If one shop told me a price that should have been honored!! 200 hr is steap for most shops. I went for a conch piercing at the concord mills location and my conch piercer was quite rude. They also did not have any nickel free jewelry options available for that piercing and a reputable piercer should always be using body safe materials. I got the piercing anyway against my better judgement and a 6 week checkup to downsize the jewelry was never mentioned, which is always a good idea, and they didn't even tell me the gauge size of the jewelry. A lot of this has lead to unnecessary irritation during healing and I might already have to retire my new piercing and get it redone somewhere else after it heals. read more

A couple of years ago I was visiting charlotte and had a really great experience getting a septum piercing here, so I decided to come back now that I live here permanently. Nobody really greeted me or my friend so we weren't even sure if they were open or accepting walk-ins. We were pierced by Lex who was very nice and professional, and made sure my friend who was getting their first piercing felt comfortable. However I think she is still an apprentice, so the experience was a bit more painful and not as smooth as it could have been. Regardless she was very sweet and gave us very clear aftercare directions. When I got home and cleaned my piercing (double helix), one of the barbell balls fell off because it wasn't screwed in completely at the shop (Lex made a comment while piercing me that she realized it wasn't screwed in all the way and fixed it then, but I guess it was still loose). I came back today to get it put back on because I couldn't do it myself. Amanda was very helpful, but said that a "jewelry change" is usually $10 but because I got it yesterday she would fix it for free. So just be aware that they will try to get as much money out of you as possible. My total was $100 for two helix piercings, and my friend paid $32 for a single lobe, a bit more expensive than piercings I've had at other locations. Overall it was a pretty good experience, just know beforehand that you will be spending a pretty penny here! read more
