Great service on a Sunday morning in a clean & great mom & pop setting. With great service and friendly staff serving large portions, at affordable prices. Can't wait to come back for lunch. Very good old school flavors.

Hole in the wall! Locals' spot! No frills, just good eats at decent prices with attentive waitresses! I will definitely be returning! Of note, if you are a fan of jellies : APPLE BUTTER IS SERVED IF YOU ASK FOR IT!

Cute local diner, we were greeted the moment we walked in. Prices are very reasonable and they appear to have great specials. We ordered the Big Boy burrito and the breakfast special. Very reasonably priced, plenty of food, but definitely greasy. We were offered a complimentary banana or chocolate pudding cup-how cool is that?

Thank you yelp for another random spot that was delicious!! This is a cute little diner with great service and a clean interior. We came at 1pm on a Saturday and it was busy but that didnt stop us from getting friendly and fast service. Everything we ate was very good. The pancakes arent anything special but still yummy. Really liked the fried pickles, fries, and butter croissant sandwich.

Give the green beans some love, the old folks can get over it. The shrimp and fish were amazing.

I think that is a testament to how good and how popular they are. Everyone was very genuinely nice offering great service. Our meals were cooked to order and were served hot and fresh and in just the right amount of time. They had daily specials to choose from or order right off the menu. Orange juice served in mason jar mugs. They are happy to customize any dish for you. We ordered the country fried steak and gravy with home fries and scrambled eggs with cheese. Also served with a biscuit. They offer assorted jellies etc. We also ordered a build your own omelette with home fries and an English muffin. Portion sizes were perfect. The home fries were done right and very flavorful. Eggs and omelette were cooked to perfection. The gravy for the steak was not your average bland gravy. It was perfect sausage gravy and very thick and flavorful. They have a variety of hot sauces available for the eggs. Hardest part was deciding what to order because everything sounded and looked so good. Grumpy's is a small casual place. Feels like your favorite small diner. Not loud despite being busy and a full house. They have benches and outdoor games to play while you wait to be seated. They close at 2pm and they do offer lunch entrees if you don't want breakfast. We thought it was fantastic and will be visiting their other locations around Jax as well. Highly recommended!!!

The exterior is clean and simple. When you walk in, it's clean, simple, and a bit Chip and Joanna-esque, which I love. I was quickly greeted and told I could sit anywhere. I was given a menu and their drink menu. After being off coffee for a week, I saw that they make their own coffee syrups, so I got an iced decaf almond milk latte with their salted caramel syrup. While I waited, I looked over the menu. I really wanted to try the french toast or the waffle, but opted for the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant and cup of their cheese grits. The latte came out quickly and tasted exquisite. Sometimes you get decaf and it tastes watery, but not this latte. My friend ordered a salad with grilled chicken on top. Everythign came out quickly. The first thing I noticed were the cheese grits. They were delicious. Rich, creamy, and flavorful. Get them. The bacon egg and cheese on a croissant was also really good. They sell coffee at their shop to bring home.

It was just after noon on a Friday when we arrived and there was a 10-minute wait for a table. Upon being seated, we were presented the menu. We both considered ordering the Reuben Sandwich but I opted instead for the Club Sandwich on Ciabatta (as recommended by our server) and a side of Seafood Chowder. We both just ordered water with a slice of lemon to drink. Our server eventually came back with my wife's Reuben sandwich served with a bag of chips and she also had my cup of chowder, commenting how the club sandwich will be served shortly. My wife liked her Reuben, with tender meat and sharp sauerkraut. She also liked how the rye bread held up to the strong flavors. My chowder was equally good but it wasn't served with crackers. We waited a while for our server to return so I could ask for some crackers but she went ghost on us. Finally, more than 10 minutes after my wife was served her sandwich, a gentleman, who we can only assume was the manager, came over to ask if I've been served my club sandwich. Of course I pointed to a clean table to indicate no sighting of my sandwich and I also asked for some crackers. A few minutes later, the same man came back with some crackers and apologized for a mix up in the back. That's when I told them to forget the club sandwich so we can be on our way. To the manager's credit, he had the club sandwich boxed up and gave it to me free of charge. He was very apologetic. I was still a bit miffed and thought about leaving the sandwich there but my wife convinced me otherwise. Needless to say, service wasn't at the forefront during that dining experience. Despite the service mix up, however, I was still inclined to give this place 4 stars for the taste and quality of the food. The staff can have some inconsistencies and I tend to believe that's not the norm for this establishment which has earned high marks on Yelp.
