I have been here a few times and it's a no frills spot with yummy food. Parking can be a bit of a pain if it's busy, but it's worth it. Their burgers are some of my favorite in the city. I call in my order sometimes and I'd say the wait is around 15-30 minutes for fresh food so I'm never mad about it. They're always nice, but not overly friendly (I mean that in the best way) - not the "overly fake customer service I'm going to get fired if I don't show all my teeth nice". I think I usually spend around $23-30 for 2 people when I go so burgers, fries, drinks, and a little tip for the jar. Small local joint that's family owned and operated offering an expansive menu of breakfast and lunch. Definitely a dive vibe which works for me. Great place to grab a quick bite which for me today was a steak in a sack and fries. Everything was cooked to order and fresh and the pita was packed nicely with slivered steak and onions then topped with provolone. It's nothing special but you'll get what you expect when you walk in. Probably more of a 3.5 star rating, I would not hesitate to return when in the area. Decent breakfast pita but a few issues caused me to lower the star rating. First no masks on employees. Second, several customers waiting without a mask. Third, sausage had a bit of bone shard in it. I thought I broke a tooth. I understand the sausage is probably a purchased brand but perhaps the low quality of their product means their supply source should be reevaluated. Food is not bad however I went to their website and looked over the menu, called it in, and when the owner checked me out it was double the amount it was on their web site menu. Prices are not what they say on the site. Owner tried to tell me that it wasn't their website but it was . Then he said they don't own the site so they cant change the prices on THEIR website. Upon opening the box I saw how char grilled the chicken actually got, which many places actually fake this, with their dark grill stripes, that is fake char, this was real deal amazing char grilled chicken, it was amazing. The seasoned fries are to die for, they're what fries are suppose to taste like! However I have to deduct one star because the deep fat fryer was being cleaned during lunch hours, so couldn't sample the onion rings. They have a very large menu but seemed to be out of everything that I wanted to try. The man (who I think was the owner) was very rude and was making sarcastic remarks about other people in the store. I placed my order and waited for what seemed to be 15 or 20 minutes. I was really pulling for this little place when I read other reviews, but the place reeks of a business being improperly run and very poorly cleaned and maintained. My burger was juicy and the fries quite tasty and crisp, but the bathrooms were like those in a bad gas station, the seating was dirty and employees were sitting and standing in the customer area watching TV and leaning on condiment and beverage items, scratching their head and then placing their hands back on the items (like the beverage lids). I would really love for this place to be like Famous sandwiches, but I walked out feeling that the owners and staff simply don't care, are incredibly lazy and also wondering if what I ate would make me sick (which thankfully it did not). The prices are inexpensive. The photo that I posted of the PacMan machine with beverage spilled on the top was not from a recent spill. First time to Adams. Picked up breakfast to go and it was great. Eggs, grits, bacon and toast for under $6. I live close by so it was still piping hot when I got it home. Everyone was super friendly. Love having a good local spot so close. They have all sorts of lunch options too plus ice cream. I'll definitely be back.
