I went to Royal Moose Coffee Company this morning, and unfortunately, the customer service experience was frustrating enough that I won't be returning. I ordered two bacon, egg & cheese croissants, a small vanilla chai latte, and a medium vanilla iced latte with extra sweetener and light ice. The employee actually acknowledged the croissants while I was ordering, but after I finished giving my drink order, she asked, "So just the two drinks?" Somehow, the croissants were never rung up at all. When I got to the window, she realized she had forgotten them. Then I noticed my iced latte wasn't made with the extra sweetener I had specifically ordered. When I mentioned it, instead of simply correcting the drink, I was told I would have to be charged for the extra sweetener. I said that was fine, even though I had already ordered it that way in the first place. Rather than fixing the drink, she handed me a separate cup of sweetener to add myself. My drink had whipped cream on top, so I explained that I couldn't exactly pour sweetener over the whipped cream and properly mix it into the latte myself. At that point, I was told she would have to refund and recharge me in order to fix it. What should have been a simple coffee and breakfast order turned into multiple unnecessary steps because my original order wasn't listened to or entered correctly. At that point, I was just over it. I told her to refund everything because for nearly $28, I could go somewhere else, spend less money, and have a much less complicated experience. Mistakes happen, but when the mistakes are on the business's end, correcting them shouldn't become an inconvenience for the customer. I was genuinely looking forward to trying this place, but this experience completely turned me off from returning. Better attention to customers' orders and a simpler approach to correcting employee mistakes would go a long way. read more

This place is just so cute and it says Hey stop here. That exterior color of red is just a eye catcher and it's just draws you to turn in. My visit today is on a hot Florida summer day but as I drove in Royal Moose was all decorated for fall and had pumpkins decor and that really made me feel good cause I am so ready for fall. I ordered my basic hot coffee which came with (drum roll) a fall colored maple leaf as a stopper!! Win win.. They have a drive thru but you can stop and sit in the shade under there cute large awning and view the river or people watch. Watch out for the Big Moose! I'm from Florida, but have lived in Alaska for over 20 years now and have turned into somewhat of a coffee snob. I went for my first time yesterday and got a large Cherry Mocha over ice and a regular Cherry Mocha blended and WOW, best coffee drink I've ever had in my life! They had soooo many amazing combinations that I think I'll get two everytime I go. My cherry mocha and then something new too! It's definitely Starbucks prices, it was like $13 for the two coffees. Drinks were ok, wayyy too much ice My issue was the staff. Went through the drive thru and requested a drink. Staff repeated back a different drink so I corrected her. Before coming around to pick up my drink the staff member stated the incorrect drink again. We went to the window and repeated our correct drink again. Instead of saying sorry she just looked at the worker behind her and said to change the drink. Then told us our drink would be ready shortly... she repeated the drink she kept pushing on us, not the one we ordered. I normally wouldn't mind a turtle mocha but when I ordered a peanut butter mocha.... We got our correct drink but not the right size. Ordered a small and was charged for a medium. Staff just doesn't want to listen and push what they want on customers and then up charge. Won't be coming back read more

I'm so glad to have family in Middleburg so I have the excuse to go here! They always have exciting seasonal flavors and their regular menu is great too. I wish there was more of these coffee shops instead of Starbucks. Sometimes it can get pricey but in my opinion you get what you pay for at this place plus coffee is expensive everywhere now and I've never been disappointed with my drinks. I used to love this place, but here recently I have gotten wrong orders. You get to the speaker and they don't confirm your order, you get to the window and they don't tell you the total and very rarely will ask if you'd like a receipt. I got a small when I ordered a large, I get an iced if I order a frozen. You get different bread when you order a sandwich. I don't understand how you can get so much wrong in one order. I am not one to complain or even speak up much cause I understand running small business, but this is really upsetting. I work hard so I can afford things like good coffee from local businesses.... If you learn anything from this, don't settle for subpar service and speak up. I don't know if I will return for a while after this. read more

Really cute and much needed coffee stop in Middleburg! Of course it's on the opposite side of the road whenever I need some coffee heading to Gainesville on those rare occasions, but what can you do? At least they finally have a place to grab a latte and other types of smoothies and beverages in the area. No problem. I just flip a bitch and take 5-10 minutes out to grab a brew. I am not sure what coffee they use here. It's definitely different than what I am used to drinking, but it's not bad. I opted for their signature Royal Moose latte (hot) and added a few muffins to-go. The prices are competitive with most coffee places in the Jacksonville area. They have two lanes for drive-thru and a walk up window with outside seating. This is a locally owned and operated business and I was helped by a nice young lady and a woman named Sarah. The muffins and pastries they sell here are a national brand [I believe] and, unfortunately, they were way too sweet for even me. My sister loved them. It would be awesome if they offered homemade baked items or something from a local baker instead of those. There's so much potential here... They did an amazing job with the build out and the outside decorations including a life-sized statue of a moose (well, maybe not life-sized), the moose exit signs and even their brick moose themed mailbox is so adorable and expertly done. Great photo ops! Overall, I enjoyed my latte here. If you don't like too sweet, make sure to let your barista know beforehand or just stick with the basic espresso or latte. I think it's definitely worth the wait (because more than likely there will be one if you use the walk-up window) to experience some of their menu items. If you're driving through Middleburg, definitely check them out. Glad I did. :) read more

The lady offered no help at all for me so I just went with my one coffee. Well the coffee was just bland. Honestly wasn't good coffee and I'm not sure what it was supposed to taste like but it didn't taste like much. This was a $6 coffee that I ended up pouring out because it was that intolerable.
