I just used this company to take my team of employees from Jersey City down to Atlantic City for a company event. First of all, I don't think I've ever dealt with more courteous and accommodating people in my life. Even though we had to change the arrangements several times, even up to the last minute, they were super polite and took care of everything without any distress on my part.. The car was beautiful, unbelievably clean and extremely comfortable. The driver Ron was very friendly. He took the time to individually walk every person with an umbrella through the pouring rain from the car to the hotel entrance and helped out with getting the things that we needed for our big meeting safely inside. One of women left their phone in the car and Ron went out of his way to track us down and get it to her. He was ready and waiting for us when it was time to leave and once again he helped us get all of our many things back in the car for the return. He even made 2 unscheduled pit-stops for us on the way home for snacks and a bathroom break. The rates were very fair and there were no "surprise extra charges" from them, which has happened to me with other limousine companies in the past. Great service to and from the airport. I flew to Manila for a funeral and planning was very chaotic. Black Crown was very accommodating and sensitive to my needs. I called last minute to adjust the pick-up time as I only had 30 minutes to pack. They were very understanding even though the driver was already en route. Coming back from Manila was also chaotic. Due to the poor connectivity in Manila, I was unable to confirm my pick-up from JFK. But my driver was there on time. My flight was delayed but our driver patiently waited for us for almost 2 hours. He was very pleasant and personable despite the long wait. I will definitely use their service again and I already recommended them to family and friends. read more

We booked a last minute Cadillac Stretch for this past Friday and had a nightmare experience with our driver Chris. He showed up late and with a car that was not advertised on their website. I called the company and was told that they would discuss it and get back to us but after having more time to look at the limo better We felt the need to address the issues earlier. Chris pulled over for gas and we decided to speak with him about it. First we tried approaching the issue of the advertised interior and he met us with an excuse about how they have many cars in the fleet and that the one they advertise is just one of many on their fleet and that we shouldn't have expected that one. Then when we told him the heat wasn't working he said it was went insides turn a knob that started blowing out cold air that knocked a vent out of the ceiling. Lastly we brought up the dirtiness and state of disarray in the limo and he told us he had three hours sleep, knocked a light out of it's socket earlier, didn't have time to clean/prepare it for us before picking us up and last but not least that we shouldn't have expected a clean limo with how late we booked the car. He became agitated and grew abrasive saying that we made him look bad by calling the company and that we should give him a break because he tried his best on three hours sleep. I called the company in front of him and passed the phone over. Lots of arguing ensued and finally we gave up removed our stuff from the limo and waited at the gas station for an Uber! Well, that's the story but here's the plus. The gentleman handling us on the phone was very well mannered and apologetic. He offered us a full refund. Great Service! We used Black Crown for a trip from NYC to NJ. Mena, our driver, was early and right were we expected him to be. He texted me when he arrived to let me know when he arrived and confirmed where he was waiting. His driving was excellent and he got us home, in comfort, very quickly. When I called Black Crown to make my reservations, they were also great and efficient - and sent me confirmation with all the information via email. I would use them again! It was a good experience, even without comparing them to other (often terrible) experiences we have had with Limo companies. read more

I'm giving Black Crown 5 stars because they lost my reservation and I had to find other transport from JFK to Manhattan last week! When I called looking for the car they couldn't find my reservation because somehow it didn't get saved in the system I was seriously super irritated..... That being said, they made up for the mishap by providing excellent customer service. The dispatcher followed up several times to explain what happened(WOW!) - even though I wasn't the friendliest person when I first called - and I ended up using them during my stay. My husband and I used their car service to take us to and from Jersey City to JFK airport. I was easily able to make reservations online. They were a great value and prices we were quoted were the same prices we paid after making the trips. We requested a sedan and both times were upgraded to an SUV. The drivers arrived early and the cars were comfortable and clean. They were extremely flexible with scheduling. Our flights returning to JFK airport were cancelled and rescheduled two times in less than 24 hours before our original arrival time. Since we were out of the country, my brother was able to call them with all of our flight changes and reschedule our pickup time twice from 10AM to 10PM then to 6AM without any hassle. We used Black Crown limo for our wedding. From the onset, communication with Ronnie was so easy, courteous, and professional. Ronnie met with us to show us the limo we were interested in using, so that we can estimate the space we will have for our bridal party. He discussed pricing, our itinerary, and was accomodating of special requests. On the day of the wedding, the original Cadillac Escalade we agreed on was not available, which was even better because we got a more spacious Hummer instead. UPDATE #2- I have used Black Crown 2 additional times since last update and love them! They are our official go to car service! Took this limo service today and had an ok experience. Pros: driver showed up 20 minutes early. As long as they don't mind waiting- that is a good thing! Another pro is that I was picked up in a Suburban, which I like bc I get nervous driving in the city. I feel safer in a bigger car. Cons: car smelled like smoke. I feel like I have to shower to get the smell off of me after riding for 40 minutes. Another con- the driver didn't get out of the car once to help me with my bags. I had my hands full and had to make a couple of trips to get in the car. Thankfully, there were bellman at the hotel in the city to help me unload. The driver also argued with me about the best way to get to the city from my house. He won the argument because he told me his way was better. I didn't pursue it any further. The limo was 15 minutes late and my driver hit a parked car. That car was parked illegally though. He was speeding on the way home: Besides these incidents the driving that day was appropriate & I appreciated that the driver took a small red carpet and put in front of the limo when we took pictures. The limo was clean, driver was pleasant, and the limo looked nice. My issue is more with the acquiring the rental. Firstly I had explained to Ronnie that I wanted to make sure everything was paid for in advance to make sure I had it all done. He said he understood and demonstrated appropriate customer service skills on the phone. He explained to me that the total he would email an amount and since I needed it for basically the entire day the amount he would provide would cover everything for the event. I let him know we would need multiple stops with the second to last stop being at the wedding venue being about 5 pm and then pick would be about 11:30 to 11:45 pm with return to New Jersey. I let him know that the contract said for 12 hours on a return call and he told me not to worry about anything. I made a total of two payments which equaled out to the total he emailed me. So between the initial day of contact and several weeks later I called requesting a change in drop off at the end of the night, adding one still in New Jersey about 25 minutes from the other drop off point I mentioned earlier. The man told me Ronnie was not available and that my request was not be a problem and that they did not need to put it in writing because it was "my limo for the night and you can tell the limo driver to go wherever you want." I explained I would prefer the change be in writing and they obliged. So the day of the wedding we had a change of stoppage, cutting down a stop, and ultimately we still got to the venue at 5 pm, as previously discussed. The weather was rainy so we had to skip our two stops We were picked up as scheduled at the end of the night. We got home, after midnight, due to distance which this limo company was made aware of. Suddenly I see an additional charge of $141 and change on my credit card. I emailed them the next day explaining that there was a verbal understanding that everything was paid for. I received a response back that it was for "overtime". I responded with the aforementioned details. A week goes by with no response. I follow up again stating I would be leaving less than 5 stars if I don't get a refund, because I don't believe this is good customer service based on what was discussed. They respond stating I should call them, that during the day of the wedding there was a change in drop off that they were not made aware of previously, and that I was "trying to scare them" by stating I would give less than five stars. Simply put: I will tell you like it is and hold you accountable to your word, as I was by making payment before hand for the 20 seat Cadillac. They did not follow through on their word so I gave them an option of refunding me or I would not leave 5 stars. I refused to call them back, because I already have been misled so now I want everything in writing. The response I get back is that they never said anything about it being for the entire time and just for the day and they will not refund. I should have continuously insisted that they changed the contract..that was my fault. Bottom line: trust the paper, not the employees words. This is the kind of business they run. read more

Just called to make a reservation, very good experience. They get your credit card and bill you after your pick up is done. All fee is included, very straight forward, and the charge is reasonable. I had a very good experience. I booked the stretch SUV for 18 people (I was told it comfortably fits 20, but with a wide variety of differently shaped people, 18 was definitely the limit). The limo was early for pick up and drop off. Both times the driver had to wait for all 18 of us to arrive, but we were within the 15 minute grace period. The drivers were super courteous. They had my credit card from booking and quoted me for the full price, tax, tip, tolls, etc, so when we arrived we were able to just get out of the car and head to our party with no paper work or anything. For this amount of people it was the same price as a few Uber SUVs, but we didn't have to wait for one to arrive and we had the peace of mind knowing that there would be a car for us when we got back (and we all got to be together!) Wonderful service!! My driver, Sam, arrived 15mins before my pick-up time and kindly texted me where exactly he was at. The ride was very comfortable. First off, I never received a confirmation email like I was told I would, so I called the night before just to make sure everything was still all good for my 4am pickup to the airport the next morning. I was told all was good to go. At 4am, me and my two small children waited in the dark on the curb for our car that NEVER SHOWED UP! I called repeatedly and no one answered. I can't comment on the actual service. I just called to get pricing on how much it would cost to be taken to the airport. I was trying to figure out if I should leave my car at work or leave it at my apartment. So I asked to get two separate quotes. No big deal, right? the first quote was fine, a little pricey but okay. I asked a question about the pricing of the second quote (from Jersey City to Newark Airport). The distance from my apartment is 10 miles and he said $70. His reasoning was solid so again it wasn't a big deal. I told him thanks and that I would call back to confirm and before I could get another word out he hung up. Again, I can't comment on the actual service but I thought that was pretty rude. I was going to ask if they were busy due to the thanksgiving holiday. If they were, I would have made sure to call back in a timely fashion so I could I actually reserve a spot (assuming they were cheapest). Typically I let little things like this go, but ironically, I found this company on yelp. I think it's only fair that I share my experience. I'm sure their service is fine, but I probably won't call back. At this point, I'd rather catch an Uber or procure some other car service. read more

We discovered Black Crown after a very bad experience with another car service recommended by our hotel. This was in October 2016 on our house hunting trip for a move to the area. The service was great and the car was clean. Driver was on time, professional and friendly. We've since moved to the area and have used Black Crown numerous times, for trips to Newark or just a pickup in the city after a show. Visiting family and friends have also used them on our recommendation and have been pleased with the service. However, today they really went beyond expectations. Our flight in from JFK was nearly 2 hours late. But our driver from Black Crown was there. His call and text were there for us when we landed and he was ready to get us as soon as we came out the door. The traffic was horrendous but he was cool and calm and every bit a professional. They are really all first class at Black Crown. And what's even better, their prices are more than reasonable; much better than some of the national names.
