We visited Black Cup Coffee twice during our trip to Anchorage, and it quickly became one of our favorite stops! Our hotel was without internet for two days, so we came here to get some work done -- and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The coffee is fantastic (can't remember the brew but it was more acidic), the staff is super friendly, and the shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating and outlets (a big plus!). The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Black cup has some of the best coffee that I have had. They offer fresh roasted coffee in many roasts and from a variety of origins served just about any way that you like it. If you can make an espresso that is delicious without sugar, then you are doing something right and Black Cup does just that. The decor is nice but a little formal for me- I prefer a coffee shop to be a bit more rustic and ornate, but I know that everyone has different taste and that certainly would not deter me from going there. When you come in, you're greeted by a steampunk grinding and making your coffee. You will definitely smell the aroma of the Arabica beans, and the earthiness of the ground sumatran drip coffee of the day. It's a great a study place. People are allowed to talk but everyone respects each other's spaces. Great study place and small business meeting place. They're also open until 11:00 pm, so it's most of the time more convenient to study here rather than the library, which closes at 10:00 pm. read more

I went here to get an iced tea, and it took forever to get, so when I asked an employee if the beverage on the counter was my drink, she said no. After more waiting, I asked another employee where my drink was, and they said that the same beverage was mine. To be frank, all the ice was melted; it wasn't even that great. read more

Came here with a friend and we waited for about 15-20 minutes to get our coffee. I had to go up and remind for our order to be ready. They served the order of the customer next to us. Thankfully, that the coffee is good our disappointment fades away. read more
