One of my absolute favourite bakeries. Their chocolate chunk cookies are to die for! I love all of their cookies, great selection.

There's a limit of 2 people in the store at once. And 1 person per group. Sugar cookie giving me very much Christmas shortbread flavour and vibes. Great flavour and texture. I was so excited to eat the strawberry custard tart but did not realize it was a chocolate crust. Nooooo.:(((( I personally do not like chocolate crusts and I especially do not like fruit and chocolate mixed together. Despite that, I still ate it tho lol I'm not about to waste my money. To be fair it was good, and if this is something you're into, you'd probably think it was amazing. The strawberries were fresh and so was the custard. This would've hit just right if it was a plain butter crust though. The other two cookies were very interesting. The base of the cookie was very buttery. Almost like a shortbread. I warmed them up for 10 seconds and they were very soft and gooey. The butter tart was amazing. I mean just look at my picture. Super thick, lots of crust. The filling was not too sweet. It was very filling actually. It's a great place to stop by if you need to get an assortment of treats for a party or as a gift. Seems like a popular spot for take away lunch as well. read more

I bought $50.00 varieties of desserts, we're do I start ... they all were very stale , dried up could tell not baked daily that's for sure. The worst butter tart I've ever tasted, and I have tried a lot at the midland butter tart festival. Definitely not worth the money. Cupcakes are so dry as well . I would literally drive an hour to come to this bakery! I love this little bakery for pastries and baked goods. They have a lot of specialty items that are gluten free, vegan, etc and STILL TASTE AMAZING?! All of the staff are also very helpful and kind. The gluten free apricot pastry is a must-have every time I come. It's the perfect amount of sweetness. I also love their cookies. They're super soft and perfect in every way. Every season they have new items. For autumn it was pies and things to do with apples and pumpkins. During the holidays, they were selling gingerbread house kits and a ton of cute Christmas cookies. Heads up: there is a wait out the door most days because of COVID. The shop is small so it only allows 2-3 at a time. Believe me, it's worth the wait! read more

Black Forest Pastry Shop is a cute little bakery shop in downtown Oakville. I walked by with no intention to going in but when I saw what they have in the displayed window.. all those cute lookings Pumpkin theme gingerbread cookies, freshly baked pies... they are just like magnets and pulled me right in. The stores is just full of sweets and the smell of freshly baked goods! All those cute looking cupcakes.. and bite sized cookies.. Yes I could finishe them in a bite just pop them in my mouth. I have been buying baked goods from Black Forest Pastry in Oakville since 2012. I have never had anything but excellent cakes, tarts, and pies. Ingredients are top quality, flavours true, it's worth the drive from Burlington to Oakville for sure. A family owned and run bakery, staff are always helpful. read more

The butter nut literally was amazing and I have had my share of one too many. This felt grounded and flaky and had a nice feel good warmth that was hard to dissipate. It's beautiful. Just adore little gems like these. Doing the usual with a lot more pinnace. read more

Came here for a quick bite for lunch. I ordered the ham&swiss melt sandwich. With a samosa on the side as I was curious to how they tasted. This shop is the definition of a bakery. Small little entrance with a medium sized kitchen, pastries/cakes freshly made right in front of you. They have gluten free options as well which is a bonus and the ladies working here were EXTREMELY nice and courteous. Regarding the sandwich it was both enormous and delicious. The samosa, only available in a veggie option, was also delicious however, not enormous. All in all, I'll be back. Maybe not for lunch, but definitely for the pastries!! read more

Walked in on a Monday afternoon and not surprisingly it was dead. There was still a decent selection of treats and the smell was divine. Staff was friendly and we were served after taking a look at everything there was to offer. We ended up with 2 sausage rolls and half a dozen pecan butter tarts. Price came out to a little over $20. I didn't have the sausage roll until the next day but it was still yummy. The pastry here is good. The butter tarts, however, were awful. No flavour and overly gelatinous. I think I could make better butter tarts. read more

We were walking along the Oakville strip when a lady passed us holding white bakery style boxes, i got really excited. After only another minute we approached Black Forest Pastry Shop, i looked in the window and right away noticed their french Macarons. Being from Guelph, macarons can pretty much only be found in Toronto, so i immediately entered the shop to order a few. They were $1.75 each which is reasonable because they are rarely under $2. I asked the girl if they fill them with ganache or buttercream, and unfortunately she told me that they do not bake them in house. I was shocked that a bakery can sell something that someone else has baked. Anyways, i cant fault them too bad, because they were delicious. The shells were a bit too hard, but the raspberry buttercream was tart, they were almost perfect. They sell an assortment of cookies for .65 cents, i tried the macadamia nut cookie, and it was great. We tried a version of a whoopie pie but it was made with brownies instead of cake and filled with a mint frosting. It was innovative and decadent. The last thing we tried was a pecan butter tart, we were on such a roll, but were abruptly stopped after trying this sweet. It was awful, the pastry was too thick, the filling was to gelatinous, and it had no flavour, so sad. Overall, Black forest is a great bustling bakery, they have a great selection of new and old favourites. read more

There are many options at the bakery. Sometimes it is impossible to choose. No matter how busy, service is always great and food is always perfect. Pies are only $10 but taste like a million. read more

I've been coming to this bakery for years and its delicious. Its a small shop that always busy and the moment you walk in, you can smell the fresh cookies and pies in the oven. If you're in the area, make sure you pick up a strawberry Rhubarb or a blueberry pie! read more

We needed a birthday cake in a pinch. (I procrastinated.) I'm so glad we checked out this lovely little spot in downtown Oakville. The salted caramel was lovely to look at, delicious with just the right amount of sweet, and at a very reasonable price. BEST place ever! The coconut cupcakes are the best thing i have ever had in my life. The staff is great/friendly/helpful (they have allowed me to pick up an order of cupcakes before 8am-so i could take them into work to share with co-workers). My favourite bakery in Clarkson/Oakville area! We stop in for a cookie, turnover or other delicious treat whenever we visit downtown Oakville. We have bought their cakes and pies for dinner parties, and now routinely get requests from our friends and family across the GTA to bring dessert from this bakery when we offer to bring something to dinner (favourites include the carrot cake and coconut/lemon cake). The cakes are beautifully decorated to start with, but the staff will happily add a sentiment on the spot (ie Happy Birthday). You can call ahead to order a cake, or just show up and pick something from the display case. read more

While there I noticed a number of people buying their French Macarons, so I decided to purchase 6. What a delight!
