Black market burger and The Shady Swiss burger Bootlegger Fries

We were in the area and decided to look for a burger spot and came across this hidden gem. Hands down one of the best burgers and fries we have ever had! The burgers are so juicy and the fries are the perfect amount of crunchiness. Absolutely everything was full of flavor! Not only was the food delicious but the service was immaculate. I love how they explained the menu very well even though it's a simple menu they elaborated their ingredients one by one to show us the differences between each burgers. Can't wait to come back & try other items in the menu !

2nd time here and another solid 10/10 experience from service, quality and price! First time trying the Mushroom Swiss. Not going to lie the original Black Market Smash was way better even though this burger was really good as well. For those asking where are they located, right next to the gas station by Walmart

Just stopped by to check them out. Owner was very nice & explained the menu. We ordered 2 Black Market Burgers with the grilled onions & "new" American cheese, as well as a deep dish peanut butter cookie to share. The burgers were perfectly cooked & the buns super fresh and soft. The fries were super crispy and had great flavor. Well done all around. We will be back.

I've tried to go here three separate times during posted hours, but it's never there. Is this place still doing business in this location?

Yes, they are but due to their popularity, they do random pop-ups every week. I would check their Instagram handle for updates for the week as they move and have different events every week. Don't give up well worth it. Enjoy.

I…read morewould always go their original location in Alhambra, I was there at least every 2 weeks the most. Even when covid hit we would still go and get our burgers. 5/8/26 we went to there new location I was like this is kinda nice by the water but I'm not going to lie but I do miss them being in Alhambra. My husband went to order the food so excited to eat my naplam death that was my only go to burger. Food was good but I did notice it gotten smaller with there burgers so disappointing because the burgers were huge! Needless to say as much I love grill'em All I won't be returning. It's about an hour drive which if the burgers were the same from the Alhambra location I would make the driver but they're not. It breaks my heart because this was my favorite burger spot and I would rave about to people how amazing your burgers are. I wish you all the best in the new location. This is an end of an era for me

My son got the behemoth that unbeknownst to us is sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Stacked heavy and it defeated him. I got the Napalm Death and it didn't disappoint. Huge, messy, spicy, and the cream cheese worked super well against the stacks of spicy (jalapeños, jalapeño poppers, sriracha). An order of Primate Fries are easily a portion for 2-3 with burgers this huge. Friendly and dogs allowed everywhere. Worth the stop.

I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. Perfect service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food will definitely have me returning very soon! Parking is free for 2 hours at the nearby garage on 3rd and is a very short walk. The closer garage on Broadway is not free. You can make restaurant reservations on their website but it wasn't needed when we went.

TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

I listened to orders being placed as she continuously greeted customers. At one time I did hear a couple of customers order a dinner and I heard her ask if they wanted fries, salad or half of each. Their online menu does not indicate the sides available. It was at this time, 9 minutes later hung up. I tried to call back and the line was obviously busy. I placed my order online for burgers and fries and drove to pick my order up. It's not what I wanted but I knew what I was getting. When I arrived at the restaurant i asked her name. She said, Kate. I explained what happened and she indicated she forgot about the call. I told her good customer service would have been for her to come back to the phone if even to say, I hadn't forgot about you and will be with you shortly. She admitted I hadn't forgot a valid point. I ordered 2 burgers, a double cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger both with fries. To make matters worse the cheese was not even melted on the burger. Just a cold slice of cheese on both burgers. I had bit into the burger before realizing the cheese was cold and not melted or soft. I'm going to give Poly Burgers a rest. Today's experience was frustrating.

It's a chill neighborhood spot to grab some food to-go or eat in. The problem was when my plain bacon cheeseburger came with piles of 1000 island on it. I returned it and the cashier nicely took it to the window and told the cooks there was an error. One of the cooks argued with her and even told me I didn't order it plain. I told him exactly what I ordered. The cashier went to the back and told him to remake it, to which he finally did. The fries were crispy but no salt and adding the old bay seasoning just messed up the taste. It could have definitely used some Creole seasoning. The burger patty was not seasoned, and I don't eat condiments, so the bacon and onion was left to flavor the burger. It was still very mediocre and served with cold un-melted cheese. I would have given it a second chance if it weren't for the cook but I will not be returning.
