I celebrated my little brother's birthday here because it was his choice for the occasion. I noticed the Ai generated digital and laminated signages in the venue, but I remained hopeful because there was a large crowd ahead of our group that appeared to be having a good time. The fake signs turned out to be a warning. The restaurant seemed to rely on digital shortcuts rather than investing in quality ingredients and proper staffing. We sat at our table and waited a solid 20 minutes just to get our water and drinks. There appeared to be only two staff members attending to easily 30 people, which I can somewhat understand since they were busy. We were a large party, but we placed our orders right off the bat, ordering just enough to feed 11 grown adults based on the menu descriptions. The problems started to set in when the beers took several minutes to be served. Furthermore, the Asian salad was just oxidized chopped lettuce, lightly seasoned dry chopped chicken breast fillet, missing the oranges, bean sprouts, kale and other essentials. We told the waitress/bartender that the order was wrong. She apologized, allowed us to substitute it for a dozen fried chicken wings, and comped us for the error, which we appreciated. However, once the two main platters arrived, we discovered--without prior warning--that they had run out of tri-tip and half chickens. The kitchen replaced the half chicken with a dry chicken breast fillet covered in BBQ sauce, and substituted skirt steak for the tri-tip without disclosing it first. Having two major meat items replaced without our input or consent, especially on my brother's birthday, really put a damper on the celebration. To make matters worse, we were nearly an hour into our seating and received our side dishes well before the entrees. Because we were hungry, we just ate what we could, took the leftovers, and left. Sadly, the chicken wings never arrived, so we left without them. I would love to leave a lower rating, but the waitress/bartender was very understanding, which is the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars. Here is my honest breakdown of the food: - Brie cheese with jam spread: 4/5 (Surprisingly tasty and the highlight out of the assortment of dishes) - Fried onion rings: 4/5 (Sweet and crispy) - Beef brisket: 3.5/5 (The only tasty meat dish of the night) - Brussels sprouts: 3/5 - Elote corn: 3/5 (The flavor was fine, but the portion size was too small to share) - Skirt steak: 2/5 (Chewy; the flavor was okay, but I have had much better skirt steaks at a similar price point) - Beef ribs: 2/5 (Nothing spectacular) - Mac n cheese: 1/5 (Chewy and lacked creaminess; it did not taste fresh or made from scratch) - No IPAs available: 0/5 - Baked potato: 0/5 (It felt soggy, like it was microwaved) - BBQ chicken breast (subbed for the half chicken): 0/5 (Dry and lacked flavor. They appeared to use the same unused chicken breast cut from the incorrect salad. The portion size was tiny compared to the half chicken I ordered.) - Bread served with the BBQ: 0/5 (Very dry and room temperature; it lacked the quality of fresh, handmade bread) Honestly, I am very disappointed with this experience trying a new BBQ spot in the area. We went on a not busy Friday night and left because we were ignored for 30 minutes. I raised my hand several times and it's like the guy was just completely ignoring me. I know he saw me, which made it worse. The music is also unnecessarily LOUD. Made reservations online and showed up ate outdoors because the weather was great brought 2 dogs the team there was very welcoming of my dogs love that. I ordered the broker Mac and cheese i loved it maybe next time I'll order light bbq next though I've ordered almost everything at this menu i love going here. Heard about this place on Facebook. They were having a FREE tasting and mini tour so we got tickets to it. We got to taste their gin, rum, vodka and whisky and they had 1 tiny food sample at the end. It was brisket and delicious. I was ready to leave since it was very unorganized and extremely busy but my husband and friend finally found a table (the entire restaurant is open seating) and sat down. We had ordered cocktails at the bar. The guy said he'd bring them to us. 20 minutes goes by and still no drinks. I went up to the bar and stood there until they were made... the two we got weren't very good and one of them was greatly under-poured. Meanwhile, they ordered food while I was waiting for our drinks. We got tri-tip tacos and brisket potato skins. The brisket was delicious, we really liked it! The tri-tip was decent tasting until I bit down on a freaking BONE and I'm pretty sure I swallowed a little piece of it as I felt something sharp when I swallowed. I came here for a late lunch on a weekday. Parking was easy at a structure around the corner with 2-hour free parking. I walked into the enormous dining area, the smokey smell of bbq wafting through the air, and was told to sit anywhere I wanted as it wasn't too busy. They do have a large patio but I decide to sit indoors. Anna is the tall drink of water, acting as waitress and bartender, who was not only super friendly but an amazing mixologist. I asked her for a refreshing mocktail and she created something tasting of raspberry and lime and I don't know what else but WOW it was fantastic. Fruity, citrusy, and refreshing. I decided to order the smoked brisket grilled chimi-cheese sandwich, which came with waffle fries. The sandwich had tender, smoky brisket with mozzarella, chimichurri, pickles, and garlic butter between grilled bread. It was sorta greasy but incredibly delicious. I can't express how much I loved this sandwich. The waffle fries were perfectly crispy on the outside - loved them. There were three individual unisex restrooms and the one I used was quite clean. The food was great on our previous visit as well, but this time our choices were less greasy, which I personally enjoyed more. The Brussels sprouts were unbelievably good, especially coming from someone who normally isn't a Brussels sprouts fan. Axel was our server and he was doing it all that day...bartender, taking orders, serving, and ensuring we had an amazing experience, which we absolutely did! I ordered the Course Menu which was wonderful and kept my palate very happy. There were four courses that included: Smoked tri-tip tostada which was one of my favorite courses. I didn't want it to end. Next, was the grilled chimi-cheese with tomato bisque. This was good but there wasn't much filling in the grilled cheese and I found the tomato bisque to be too salty. Then the main event arrived which was the smoked trinity of beef (tri-tip, brisket, and beef rib) on top of loaded mash. This was so amazing and a good portion that left me with leftovers to take home. Lastly, was the lemon tart bars which were very small but a nice way to finish the meal. This course menu also came with a paired cocktail or mocktail, and I chose the Mint Conditioned cocktail, which was very refreshing and beautifully presented. Speaking of cocktails...just wow!! Since it was Halloween time, there was a Seasonal Cocktail list. From that, I chose Sally's Song and Trick or Treat. Axel did not disappoint and these were so fun and impressive. Lastly, I want to give major props to, the MVP, Axel. As mentioned before, he was doing it all that day we came in. He didn't rush anything and our cocktails came out beautifully. He even gave us, and the tables around us, some shots, which was so kind. Showed up tonight, with a reservation at our reservation time. No hostess to be found, front of the restaurant had junk everywhere including a thing of Play-doh behind the host stand on the floor. Had to seek out someone who was surprised we had a reservation, we got sat, were given both food and drink menus and then a server came around about 10min later and said the kitchen was closed right now because it was too busy and it would be at least an hour. It was 745pm. Why did they seat us? Why were we given a food menu? Why didn't they cancel the reservation? Decided to stay for drinks because I had heard good things, it was just okay. The neighborhood is so fun and inviting and the distillery is right in the heart of a fantastic social area. It was the week before Halloween when we visited and we loved all of the cool Nightmare Before Christmas decorations. So fun! The atmosphere was great here. I love the aesthetics, decor, and vibe. The flavor of the food was also great. Although we were a bit disappointed to pay $15 for tacos that were so small. I guess weren't expecting tiny street tacos. The tri tip was great though, according to my husband. I had the tri tip melt and it was fabulous. I loved the homemade potato chips and the pickles served with it too. I would love to go back and give it another try though. I didn't get a chance to try the ube cheesecake and from the other reviews it looks great. Honestly so disappointed on the experience we had here. We were truly excited to come all the way over here to try something new but at last the service and food was just bad. The blonde girl with short hair was dismissive. The second server was friendly at first but after the food and drink order were taken we were completely ignored. My wife and I loved this place! Easy to get to with 2 hour free parking garage just steps away. It's in the beautiful Promenade area with amazing murals, historic architecture, and 4 blocks of pedestrian walkways. It's a restaurant and distillery. I was really surprised by the prices. The place felt upscale in a trendy area with gourmet quality food yet was surprisingly affordable! It's a distillery so we had to try cocktails of course. I had a maple infused old fashioned that was poured table side out of a syrup bottle. Gimmicky sure but it wasn't expected so it brought a smile to my face. My wife had some odd cucumber and bubblegum infused cocktail that sounded gross on paper yet worked great in reality! I was buzzing pretty hard after one drink so I stopped there but my wife got a smores espresso martini for her second drink that was seriously decadent. For entree my wife got the burnt ends sliders with fries that were only $9! Was a big portion and mouth watering delicious. I went with some special they had for a weekly dining thing in LB. It let me try a variety of things and was only $30 something. Started with a simple looking tri tip tostada that ended up being a flavor explosion and my favorite course. Next was a burnt ends sliders slider. Then a trio of beef rib, brisket, and tri-tip that came with the best mashed potatoes I have ever consumed. Meat wise the tri-tip was my favorite and the rib my least favorite. All were great though, I just wouldn't order the rib on my next visit. Lastly I got some brownie bite dessert that was surprisingly delicious. We shared some street corn too but we were busting at the seams so it wasn't needed. Service was outstanding the entire time and I enjoyed the place so much I bought a shirt. The new tri tip tacos? Incredible. The Asian fusion bowl that is like an elevated Teriyaki bowl of sorts? Lovely. The Philly cheesesteak take y'all do is not the same, but I can respect your spin on it. The chimichurri sandwich is going to be my SO's go-to now. The Thai chili wings are comforting in a sweet, sticky (almost caramelized) sauce, with a light heat, the brisket potato skins are delicious. Customer service is still on top of things. Whew if only there were more than 5 stars to rate this entire experience. I ordered the beef bbq ribs, with brussel sprouts, and the potatoes skins topped with brisket. If you knew how rare finding non pork ribs was your toes would curl from this experience alone. The ribs were packed with flavor and the sauce had a nice tang to it. The meat was falling off the bone. The brussel sprouts were topped with beef bacon and Parmesan... they were alright---- those potatoe skins were something else. I got to try their food scene deal which was a four course meal that is a meat lovers dream. The server we had was absolutely amazing, I wish I remembered his name because he deserves a raise! We ordered the sampler platter as an appetizer which came with Thai chili wings, brisket quesadillas, tri-tip potato skins, and onion rings. The potato skins were my favorite! I also ordered a whiskey sour which was really good!! For our four courses we started off with: 1. Smoked and grilled tri-tip: it was a tostada with salsa macha and a delicious yuzu sour cream. I can always appreciate a solid happy hour paired with a good yap session. My homegirl and I stopped by to decompress after the workweek, and this spot absolutely delivered. Wow! What a waste of time. Reservations set for party of eight. And we never got service. They served us drinks and then never came back. Waited 45 minutes. Didn't say anything just in case they were busy. But that was not the problem. They were just busy talking to each other and taking people order at the bar. The restaurant was not busy at all, compared to the neighbor restaurant buen provechio, which is where we should have went. This was a complete waste of time. The serve and bartender apologized. It's very rare that I mention staff by name unless they blow me away. And, Axel, really blew me away. This spot has been on my list for a while. I've been putting it off because of the street parking. When we arrived we parked in a parking garage and came out right at the side of the restaurant. So it wasn't bad. (There was also a farmers market happening) It was still kind of early, Axel greeted us immediately. He had such upbeat energy. He was great at suggestions The starters we ordered Smoked brisket quesadilla (amazing) And the smoked brisket fried potato skins. (Delicious, again) For drinks axel did all the recommendations. The- passing me by. Which is bubble gum vodka and house made cucumber soda. All I could taste was cucumber. But in the best way. The- you're killing me smalls. Which is basically their version of an espresso martini. With a toasted marshmallow. (Also, when you are leaving they have a huge section at the bar filled with bottles of all the alcohol they make for sale. honestly I think it's a great gift idea) Our main course came out which was the steak. Cooked to perfection and seasoned like a pro. It wasn't too salty, wasn't under seasoned, it was just right. The steak did come with two sides. We did order an extra All their sides were great too. The mashed potatoes with bacon The waffle fries And the Mac and cheese. Our appetizers came out extremely fast and our drinks. Our waiter, Axel kept checking on us throughout the whole time Menu Is great Drinks are great Nice food portions Everything came out fast Great staff they sell their alcohol that they make They do feature outdoor seating as well that says it's dog friendly And it says they have happy hour (unfortunately we didn't come during this time.
