    Bacon Cheeseburger

The food here is mediocre but the cashier was extremely nice and is mostly my reasoning for 3 stars. She was patient, attentive, and very nice while taking our order. It's a chill neighborhood spot to grab some food to-go or eat in. The problem was when my plain bacon cheeseburger came with piles of 1000 island on it. I returned it and the cashier nicely took it to the window and told the cooks there was an error. One of the cooks argued with her and even told me I didn't order it plain. I told him exactly what I ordered. The cashier went to the back and told him to remake it, to which he finally did. The fries were crispy but no salt and adding the old bay seasoning just messed up the taste. It could have definitely used some Creole seasoning. The burger patty was not seasoned, and I don't eat condiments, so the bacon and onion was left to flavor the burger. It was still very mediocre and served with cold un-melted cheese. I would have given it a second chance if it weren't for the cook but I will not be returning.

The center is getting a nice update, but there's still plenty of parking. The service was awesome, but we were told a large fries is a bag full & a medium is half a bag. As you see on receipt we got large, but we only received half a bag. That was disappointing; However, it was enough for us both after all. I got a plain cheeseburger with only mayo and cheddar cheese and was disappointed. Hubby got bacon cheeseburger with cheddar and no tomato and liked it. I'll be trying his burger style next time. The low stars is bec it's nothing special, but an option. Great place if you're on a budget!

I like the new place. Nice, clean and lots of parking. Nothing has changed. The people inside are cool. I love the ranch dip. The food and prices are good. It's a good place to stop for a bite to eat.

I graduated high school 17 years ago and I still go back for extra crispy fries with a side of ranch! It never disappoints.

Burger combo ( ate most of my fries on the way home. And burger is bigger than it appears!)

The burger was surprisingly awesome! I didn't have much expectations on arrival but the service was great and the food came out fast and fresh. Shout out to the cooks in the back! Will come back again to try another burger. Burgers here are bigger than you'd think.

We came all the way from Santa Clarita and we're not disappointed. Past all the namebrand places by the aquarium and came here and we're not disappointed. I had the work burger, which has fried portobello mushrooms. Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. Also the onion rings are batter dipped. And beyond delicious! Only bummer is the drinks are cans, so if you need more than one drink, be prepared to pay for each can. The food was super delicious!!

I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

I asked for a cheeseburger combo and was told they don't have combos anymore, so at least for burgers, everything seems to be ordered per item now. Interesting. I was expecting the cheeseburger I used to come back for, but this one was rough from the second I opened the wrapper. No char flavor, not much seasoning and the whole thing was messy in a way that felt sloppy, not charming. The bun was dry, cracked and falling apart after being toasted. It looked like the burger got assembled during an argument. That should've been the stop sign. Instead, it became my cheeseburger. The burger dressing was odd too. It's always been that thousand island-style burger sauce, but this time I mostly tasted mayo. The burger sauce forgot its own identity. Fries were solid though. Seasoned and fried well, easily the best part of the meal. The burger fell apart, but the fries held it down. Parking and drive-thru are still atrocious. There are basically two ways to enter the drive-thru, but only one actual lane, so you're fighting for position before you even order. With maybe around 15 spots total, the whole setup still feels like an obstacle course. Overall, this feels like the end of an era for me. Louis Burgers III used to be one of my go-to burger spots in a pinch, but this visit knocked it out of the rotation. You'll leave full, but full isn't the same as satisfied. It used to be reliable. Now it feels like a coin flip with fries and I hope y'all win the 50/50.

We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.
