Ok... first things first... ive never been to the actual restaurant but i did have food from the food truck at Social Beer Garden. I have to be thankful because i was suppppper hungry and they weren't going to officially open for other 30 min! Waited an hour for my food, was given a cup with no top on it despite it being a to go order, was given food with no cover on it despite it being a to go order. Had to remind them several times that we didnt get all of our food after they gave us half of our food. Other folks had to wait a long time as well, it was quite ridiculous. Love that I get the opportunity to be one of the first reviews. This truck is BOMB. Finding birria in Houston is no easy task and when you do, it's not always good. The red tortilla take on this popular dish take sit to the NEXT level. So delicious and they give plenty of consume soup to dip it in. I haven't had their food at the restaurant but last night I went to get food from their food truck. I got one order of the Birria Tacos one of the Quesataco and the Birria fries. I'd like to start out with the food...that shit tastes amazing!!! I mean I know you got suckered in my the pics but the food tastes as good as it looks. The Birria tacos have so much flavor. These people know what they are doing. The quesatacos were really good as well. I was pleasantly surprised with the fries. I went back and forth on if I wanted to order or not because usually food truck fries and just those bland crinkle cut fries just fried and oily. HOWEVER these fries were soooo good. The sauces were amazing and the juice to dip the tacos in was out of this world. Again these people know what they are doing. There are a few negatives, however they don't take away from the quality of food you are going to get. We arrived at the food truck line at 7:11 pm...we waited TWO HOURS in line...it wasn't even that long of a line when we got there...but TWO hours is just ridiculous. Finally at around 9:25 we finally ordered...I was tired I kept saying this better be worth it. I've never waited so long for food... Finally got our food at 11:11...two hours later. Didn't get home till 11:30. So yeah it was a 4 hour wait. That was the worst. Who wants to wait that long for food. Was the food worth 4 hours of my life...no... Was the food worth going and getting there early next time and having them again...yes. So yeah five starts, but be expecting a wait. A long wait. Prices were a bit high but not unreasonable. Saw this food truck on TikTok and had to give it a shot. First off get there as early as you can bc the line gets ridiculous and you do run a chance of them running out of meat. We got there around 815 and made our way to the front of the line at 945pm. The menu has been shortened from what is listed on this site, just FYI. Food was pretty good. It falls into the birria hype for sure. The meat they use is barbacoa. We ordered the quesotacos, burrito, birria fries, and quesadilla. They were all delicious, I have no real complaints. Staff was friendly and you could tell they were working as hard as they could to push out orders. I hope to see the menu grow back up and try some new items. If you hit up this spot with more than one person and the truck is still located on 1920 Houston st, ask your friend(s) to walk over to the attached bar and order a drink while you all wait. read more

Our family loves birria. We decided to try this to go for dinner on NYE. Absolutely terrible. Tasted nothing like birria. My husband kept saying it tasted like he was eating wet paper napkins. Most of my meat was just chewy fat. I only ate half of one taco and threw away the rest. Never going back and do not recommend. read more

Went to 8th wonder brewery and decided to try this taco truck since the options were limited. I love birria, tried several different places, even made it at home and I just gotta say this is NOT birria. What really confuses me is the bright red taco shell. Why? Just why? Why do they feel the need to use food coloring instead of just using the consume like everyone else. The meat was tender but that's all they have to offer really. Visited the food truck off of Spring St last night & loved the setup they have next door to the bar. The man working the register was really nice and helpful. I wish I would have gotten some pictures of the food, it looked so good! But I have to say it's not the best. I felt that the flavor of the meat was fairly bland and that the consommé needed salt. The red dusting on the tortillas is a great touch, stains your fingers though make sure to wash your hands after eating or it sticks around for a little while! Overall the service is great and the food looks great, I think some small tweaks would make this food great. A little bit of salt wouldn't hurt... or maybe just handing out some salt packets. read more

My friend and I ate from Black Market Burritos while we were visiting Truck Yard. We ordered their El Chapo with chicken over fries. It was perfect for sharing! The dish was cheesy and tasty. All of the fries were covered with something, which I definitely appreciated! We also ordered churros. When we went to pick them up, the cook forgot to make them and ended up giving us two orders! We were too excited, because they were great! Crispy on the outside and ooey gooey in the inside. There was a dulce leche type sauce inside sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar on the outside and to top it all off with Fruity Pebbles. It was fantastic! Also, I must say, one of the guys allowed me to borrow his phone charger since my phone was almost dead. I really really appreciated that! After seeing Blk mkt birria all over Instagram and drooling over every post, I finally got the chance to try them out myself. First off, the very first time we went to their food truck over by 8th wonder and got there just as they were opening only to be told that their "meat" hadn't arrived yet and would be another 30-45min before it got delivered. I had somewhere to be so we left. Next time we decided to give them a chance, I finally was able to get my hands on some quesotacos. Now I've had my fair share of birria and my goal is to find the perfect birria spot in all of H-town; needless to say this wasn't it. They look AMAZING and their red tortilla signature look is pretty dope but honestly, I quickly learned it was all hype. They stuff the tacos and the price is decent which is why they get the two stars I gave. But taste wise? The meat had no flavor, the e tortilla was kinda weird and the consomé(juice you dip it in) was very beefy and not enough caldo. I added lime, cilantro, and hot sauce and still couldn't get it to taste right. I've had way better birria at other food trucks. They have great advertising and their aesthetic is on point but I think their target customers are people who'd rather take pictures with their food than actually eat it. read more

Im not sure where they got their birria recipe from, but this is NOT birria. Ordered some tacos from the truck thats at 8th Wonder, and omg no, should have stuck with the truck next to them. 1. The birria is just steak, if you know what deshebrada is, its just that. 2. Service was slow af. Waited about 45 minutes and thats only because my bf went up to them to ask if the order was almost ready. Even then whoever was inside the truck asked if he was lying, but no, 45 minutes. 3. The consome was just a bowl of fat. If you have eaten birria before, you know the consome is supposed to be this delicious nectar of juices that just brings the whole thing together, but no, it was just fat. No flavor whatsoever. 4. Im not sure if the meat is supposed to be spicy, or mildly spicy, but this meat was very spicy, and not good spicy. As a mexican, i know spicy food, and that food is delicious. It was absolutely AMAZING, and surprisingly the leftovers were still just as good. You have to check their Facebook page for locations and times. I would recommend going early bc I've read a number of reviews saying the line can get pretty long and that sometimes they sell out... during my visit, I did show up 20min after opening and there was a line but it wasn't terribly long and also did go by fast.
