The wagyu termimayo dog was really flavorful, and the mayo/teriyaki/fried onions/seaweed balanced well the sausage. The veggie okonomi was also yummy with flavorful sausage, sauce, and cabbage (we didn't get the bonito flakes). We also ordered the butter and shoyu fries which were well-seasoned with a shoyu powder and didn't feel any more greasy with butter than regular fries. The yuzu lemonade was surprisingly good, the yuzu flavor was natural, strong, and didn't overpower the lemonade. There is a station where you can get sriracha, ketchup, mayo, and pickled jalapenos on the side to customize your dog to your liking. The interior felt unique and cozy, while still being clean. They are steamed with what seems like sugar water. The shells are sticky with sugar syrup and you can't get the chestnuts out of the shell at all. You have to bite the whole thing and spit out the shell. They are too sweet and super soft and soggy. They are really gross. If that is sugar water that they are using then they should post a sign stating what the ingredients are for those that cannot have extra sugar or whatever is on there. I will never buy their chestnuts again if they plan on sticking with this new way of making them.

I've been trying for awhile to sample these donuts as people rave about them on Instagram. I…read morefinally got the chance when they were offered at Black Sugar Coffee House (which seems like a super cute place with great service) in Port Moody. It's clear that I wasn't the only one wanting to get my hands on them as there was already a lineup when I got there at 10:30 am (the time they started selling them). They're $20 for 4 and the flavors this week were: Classic Cinnamon Sugar, Tiramisu, Banana Cream Pie (my favorite), and Apple Crumble. The donuts themselves were good, but what stood out to me were the fillings. Donut fillings can taste artificial and fake, but these fillings tasted so fresh and flavorful. I'm not even the biggest banana fan, but the Banana Cream Pie was excellent. Instead of artificial banana filling, it was filled with real bananas and tasted so clean. Likewise with the tiramisu - I'm not big on coffee flavors, but this Tiramisu was spot on. All in all, you can tell that these donuts are made with care and don't taste artificial. Definitely worth checking out, especially for their amazing fillings!
