    Baked pork chop rice
    Olivia C.

US folks - please be advised they only accept cash or debit (debit as in non visa and pretty much only Canadian debit cards). Long story short, just bring CASH! My family and I were staying nearby and we were too hungry to walk far for food. We opted for this Hong Kong style cafe and ordered 4 dishes to share among the 5 of us. Food: Baked pork chop with rice and tomato sauce - one of my family's go to dishes. They deep fry the pork chops here and what was really nice is that it's already cut up for you. They also don't skimp on the sauce and I would say the rice and tomato sauce were at a 1:1 ratio. Shanghai style noodles - this was really good! Just wish it was a little sweeter and had more veggies Fish and tofu rice - I liked the flavor of the tofu and sauce with the rice. Fried noodle with pork and bean sprouts - the noodles slightly differ from what I'm used to but overall really good flavor! Just wish there was a splash of white pepper powder. All dishes came with a drink so our whole group opted for the iced lemon tea. If you ask for the honey lemon drink, it will cost extra. Pricing is very fair here, but again, just bring cash if you're from the US!

It's my very first time to dine out after these 2 monthsssss!!! Always get their take out during the lockdown.(will share in another post) Today I go for tea time with my family! It's fish and chips!!! Actually we got french toast too! Their quality keeping the standard and I love their Hong Kong style food!!

In short, this place is an unglamourous, good value, middle-quality Hong Kong-style cafe with one of the worst washrooms in Vancouver. It's not fancy, but it does the job every time. Avoid using their bathroom if at all possible - it gives ones in Hong Kong a run for their money. For the long version, read on! My parents prefer HK-style food that's good value and in Richmond so we've come here regularly for dinner, and sometimes breakfast and lunch. The portion to price ratio is pretty good and the food is usually pretty tasty. We like their Chinese-set menus where you get a dish, rice, and a soup (Chinese-style or western, like a cream or tomato soup). They have ample parking and there usually is no wait for a table. The two-seat tables are a bit close to each other and makes it hard to get in and out, and you hear everyone else's conversations without much effort. The service is okay. It's sometimes hard to flag staff down, but not terrible. They access cash and debit only. The washrooms are abhorrent. It smells, there are stains everywhere, the taps eek out water, and if just a terrible experience. I try to avoid using it. On this particular day, I was here with my parents and had two dishes to share. The swirl eggs and shrimps fried rice noodles had lots of crunchy shrimps, the egg swirl was quite good, and the rice noodles had a nice fried texture. We also got the Singapore-styled fried vermicelli and this had a good kick and had smaller shrimps, ham, bean sprouts, and green pepper. These dishes came with a drink and I like that choosing a cold drink has no extra charge, unlike a lot of places. The hot milk tea and hot coffee were just regular affairs and nothing to rave about, but not bad either. We couldn't finish everything and got some of the vermicelli packed up. Overall, a no-frills HK-style cafe that's a better value than most other places in Richmond. Please avoid the washroom, I'm not kidding around.

Came here on a Sunday night 9-10pm to dine in for a late dinner and was seated right away Got the Seafood Congee, baked seafood with cream over rice and they were pretty good! Serving sizes are generous and had a lot left over for two people. Can't go wrong with these two dishes for a late night dinner. I also recommend getting the red bean with ice cream as a dessert . Very yummy

This was the fourth Hong Kong Style Cafe that I visited during my time in Vancouver for my trip and it was amazing! I visited this restaurant yesterday at 7:28 P.M. and it was pretty quiet inside the restaurant. Also, the service was good when I was ordering and asking questions. Furthermore, I was swiftly seated and the extremely nice staff brought me my first food within five minutes of ordering. The first item that I ordered was the Borscht Soup which was perfectly flavored and had good texture. The second item that I ordered was the Swirl Egg And Shrimp Fried Rice Noodle which contained noodles that had a good texture, shrimp that was flavorful, and sauce that was balanced. The next item that I ordered was the Green Beans With Chicken, Garlic, And Bell Pepper. The vegetables were cooked wonderfully and the chicken was seasoned well. The last item that I ordered was the Baked Pork Chop With Rice which contained crispy and tender meat. Also, there was good flavor in the tomato sauce, the rice had a good texture, and it had the perfect amount of cheese in it. Overall, this was a really good experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to go to a good Hong Kong Style Cafe!

Hong Kong style cafe near the Price Smart in the Brighouse/Richmond Centre area. It's on the second floor of a building within a small plaza on Westminter Hwy. Mid-size space. Interior seems to have been refreshed in recent years and looks modern and clean. The menu is pretty standard HK cafe fare. You can noodles, rice, pastas done various different ways. They also have a pick your own combo that combines choice of meat with other sides. We got a combo with the rib-eye and fried fish as the meat and fries for the starch. Also included gravy, some mixed veggies, a soup and a drink. Got cream of mushroom soup and that tasted alright. The "rib-eye" is obviously not a big piece of rib-eye steak at this price point, but it was a decent piece of meat that was pretty soft and had some flavor. The fried fish was pretty good, with a crispy exterior and steaming hot fish meat inside. The fries were standard crinkle fries. Also got the salmon fried rice, and that tasted decent, and the portion was big. Overall, decent taste, good portions and reasonable prices. Total was around $30 for two people.

It's my first time seeing Hongkong French toast!! Its basically the French toast I'm familiar with, but they have marmalade inside and they deep fried the entire thing. It was very enjoyable and crispy The service was a bit slow, but we went with a big group, so they were probably back logged. Waited about 30 minutes for my Portugese baked rice. I like it here because it opens late and the portions are crazy huge!

I think a two year span of visits is enough to finally write a review. It started with an introduction from a co-worker, then I started bringing the fam here and we've been going to Enjoy since. Every time we can't think of where to go or decide on what type of food to go for, we always end up at Enjoy. And my kids really like this place. On our usual "Play It Safe" list are: * Baked Seafood with Cream Sauce on Rice * House Special Chow Mein * Swirl Egg & Shrimp Fried Rice Noodle * Singaporean Style Fried Vermicelli On the "OK" list are: * Braised E-Fu Noodle with Seafood in XO Sauce * E-Fu Noodle with Pork & Eggplant in XO Sauce * Beef Brisket w/Seasonal Vegetable Chow Mein * Sautéed Rice Noodle with Prawns & Beef in Black Pepper * Baked Pork Chop w/Tomato Sauce on Rice On the "Never Again" list are: * Baked Ox Tongue on Fried Rice * Lobster (imitation) in Butter Sauce and E-Fu Noodles (lacking the fake lobsters) * Curry Beef Brisket with Rice * Curry Beef Brisket Noodles (I don't know what it is about their curry but I just didn't like it. Maybe Mui's to blame. I don't know.) Their meals come with hot or cold drinks. Or, you can sub it with soup at no extra charge. Their dinner menu is exactly the same but they charge $1 more. I also used to get the choose 1/2/3 items combo but it's gotten too pricey now so that's off the usual list. But otherwise, most of the items are good value and decent portions. Our last visit, I thought I had enough Enjoy, but found something new again--Baked Seafood with Pineapple on Rice in Portuguese Sauce. Added that to the usual list. Parking can be a little hectic during peak times but there are more spots behind the building.

A standard Hong Kong style in Richmond. Very spacious with a few bench seats. They took over what used to be a karaoke so you see some room partitions. The menu is very straightforward with rice and fried noodle plates. Standard baked rice and spaghetti items. Then some Cantonese style dishes, desserts, and drinks. All standard, nothing fancy. All prices shown for entrees are for non peak hours. For dinner between 6 and 9pm, add $1 to prices shown. Most include a drink but no extra charge for cold. That's good. And their cold drinks are taller than most. That's better. Onto the food. We had a group so did some sampling of a few rice items. I stuck with my favorite - baked rice. This time with mixed white and tomato sauce. Generous serving of sizable prawns and ham. My buddies had salted fish with chicken fried rice and dried olives green beans with diced pork. Both had a rich flavour but may need an acquired taste. But the fragrance meant they used genuine goods and the "wok hay" a.k.a. heat from the wok is very good. I personally enjoyed all these three rice items. Other couple at our table had the fancier chicken steak on rice with sauce on the side. It was a funny sight when all of us had rice and the six guys next to us all had different sorts of noodles. Fried, spaghetti, and soup noodles. All looked good. Nice find of another option for HK style.

I found this place(last saturday Sept 23rd) randomly while looking for Alleluia Cafe near this neighbourhood, it turns out I wasn't looking carefully to find it. So my sister and I went here instead thinking Alleluia Cafe was permanently closed (turns out that place was open). Food was good. I liked the Baked Porkchop ($9.55) on rice and it was delicious. I ordered it along with iced honey lemon tea ($0.75 extra for cold drinks) and it was tasteless. Just a plain honey drink with lemon with NO black tea in it. I'll leave 3 stars at least, because this restaurant looked so dirty with dishes by the washrooms. If you're sensitive with this I think you might lose some appetite. They really need to work on keeping the restaurant clean. Because I saw some rooms with different colours I think this place used to be karaoke back then? CASH only.

Another HK style cafe in the heart of Richmond. Parking is plentiful in the nice large lot out front. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The place is pretty bare bones, but the decor is typical of any HK cafe. A pile of booths, where you eat and get out. The Staff aren't the most polite (they're not rude though), which add to the authenticity of the experience. Efficiency is key. The value here is awesome. The fried rice I had ($9) was literally a pile - I was able to split it into 2 meals. Nice and fresh - the guy just whips it up in a couple of minutes. Really tasty. I will definitely be back next time I need a pile of food.

She wanted to go to Kirin. Plenty of parking in the mall. Hostess greeted and seated us promptly. Restaurant was busy but not crazy. This was at 10am on a Thursday. Waiters were attentive. Usual table service was in place. Took our order and food came out at acceptable pace. When we were done, they politely boxed up the leftovers and we paid our bill. So service was on point. The food we ordered came out hot. The staples that I order to test was hargow, suimai and pai gwut(spareribs). All 3 dishes in general were good.....the hargow could have used an extra minute or 2 in the steamer. The suimai was very good. I tasted every ingredient in this dish. Usually it is just a complete mix and you can't discern the different flavors. They tried something different with the cheongfun by adding pieces of Chinese donut to the roll. I personally think it didn't add much to the dish, taste or texture wise. I did like the pea shoots with shrimp. I think it is a good combo. All in all a good dimsum. I also noticed they did not charge us a tea service. The cost of the food is comparable with other restaurants at this level. Yes come on a date or impress business clients/boss or family celebrations.

On a typical Sunday evening, the restaurant is usually fully occupied, but my friend had thoughtfully made a reservation a week in advance, so our table for five was ready upon arrival. As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, with good airflow thanks to the wide-open front entrance facing the parkade. The front desk receptionist greeted us cordially, and we were escorted to a cozy table in a comfortable location -- not too close to the washrooms, which I appreciated. Our meal began with the Kirin Special Assorted Cold Appetizer, followed by Crab Meat, Dried Scallops, and Fish Maw Soup. The soup arrived piping hot and was delicious, with a generous portion that could easily have served eight people. We also enjoyed Pea Tips Braised with Bean Curd and Assorted Mushrooms in Consommé, Marinated Free-Range Crispy Skin Chicken, Fillet of Cod Sautéed with Seasonal Vegetables, and Live Crab in Consommé with Ginger and Green Onion, served with E-fu Noodles. Overall, the quality and taste of every entrée were excellent. Service was top-notch -- tea and hot water were refilled constantly, bones and used plates were replaced promptly, and the servers were friendly and engaging throughout the evening. My friend and his family have apparently been regulars at this location for over two decades, which likely contributed to the exceptional attentiveness we received. However, one aspect of the experience genuinely disturbed me. All servers, including the captains, continued to wear masks at all times. While this practice was understandable two years ago, now -- five years after the onset of the pandemic, with COVID-19 managed similarly to other seasonal respiratory illnesses -- the continued universal masking in a fine-dining environment feels unnecessary and detracts from the overall guest experience. Fine dining, in my view as an avid foodie, is built on human connection, hospitality, and personal interaction. Masks create a more impersonal, almost clinical atmosphere. In a well-ventilated space like this, the environmental risk does not seem to justify the visual and social trade-off. Rather than providing reassurance, the persistent masking may unintentionally signal that the environment is unsafe or that management is out of step with current provincial health guidelines, where masking is now a personal choice rather than a mandate. Final verdict: Food & Service: 5/5 Ambience: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 -- as the current aesthetic feels more like a relic of 2020 than a leader in 2026 hospitality.

We made a reservation on OpenTable (which is a rare platform to use among Chinese restaurants in Greater Vancouver). We were seated a few minutes after arrival. The space feels energetic. It's a more modern restaurant, so there is much color and younger vibrancy than a traditional Chinese restaurant. What else is different? No round tables - only smaller square tables - which means it's better designed for small groups rather than large groups. We ended up trying a number of items: - Beef Belly Skewers: Very good. Everyone loved them. I wished we had ordered more. - Chicken Skewers: Ok. I think asked for something but they ran out and gave us gizzards and hearts, which are never good because they become mealy and not enjoyable to eat. - Dungeness Crab with Salty Egg Yolk: Good. Prepared as well as lots of restaurants. They provide disposable gloves to eat with, but nothing to crack the shells. - Stir Fried Vegetables: Good. No complaints. - Fresh Fish with Tofu Hot Pot: Very good. - Fresh Fish Steamed: Very good. - Lobster with Sticky Rice: Very good. Service is really very good. Genuinely more friendly and talkative than I'm accustomed too, but I appreciated. Overall, a good meal. It was different in that the decor and service is what really stood out, and that's the difference maker compared to most other Chinese restaurants with the same quality of food. That being said, you pay for it too. I definitely enjoyed it, but it better suited for a small groups rather than large ones.

The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. I would come back for the rice noodle and cold noodle and maybe try their congee next time.

Chang Fen how I love thee. Such a simple dish but when done well, it's transcendent, at least for…read moreme! For those that don't know, Chang Fen is a silky and soft steamed rice noodle that's made in a sheet, filled, and then rolled up and served with a savory soy sauce and chili oil. Classic fillings include shrimp, beef, pork, and veggies, but there are many other combinations, and Yin Ji introduced me to my new favorite, pork and olive! We also had to enjoy a "frozen HK milk tea" with it! Frozen here = chilled and it's served in a big bowl of ice so you don't dilute the rich flavor of the tea! As a non Chinese speaker in a rich Chinatown, service and communication can be challenging but that was not the case here at all! The staff was so welcoming, happily spoke English and helped us where necessary and made the visit incredible! It started because we saw signs saying cash only, but had not exchanged USD, and they quickly told us CC was welcome with an added fee, which we happily paid. I'm so glad I found Yin Ji and made the trip to get here during my time in Vancouver. If you're a fan of Chinese cuisine, especially breakfast and lunch staples, this is a must!

This place is the real deal if you are looking for authentic Cantonese food. From the moment you…read morewalk in, everyone is speaking Cantonese and it immediately feels legit. They also give you free hot tea, which is always a huge plus and sets the tone right away. I ordered the beef and shrimp rice noodle roll along with the Hong Kong style milk tea. The rice roll was honestly perfect. Super smooth, delicate texture, great balance of beef and shrimp, and seasoned exactly how it should be. I genuinely cannot think of anything they could have done better with it. It tasted just like what you would expect from a proper Cantonese spot. The Hong Kong style milk tea was hot and strong. Definitely more on the bold side, so if you like that deep tea flavor, you will love it. It paired really well with the rice rolls. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly, which made the experience even better. This is one of those places you come to when you want something authentic, comforting, and done right. I would absolutely come back and order the same thing again.
