You may want to adjust -maybe the grind was too coarse, the brew time was too short, or the coffee-to-water ratio was off. A few adjustments there could make a big difference. The bag I bought was roasted within the week and it was very good coffee. They offer a variety of roasts in store and boast pour over. I prefer a pour over or chemex. When I requested one however the barista indicated they would prefer to offer me their brewed coffee instead. I asked how long ago it was brewed. They said an hour (ew). Also I had requested the dark roast and the brew was medium roast. I know better than to trouble an employee who does not want to work ha! So I took the brew. It was ok but not what In wanted. I hope Kona Reserve reads this and understands: while you have an adorable store and good coffee, if a coffee lover comes in and requests your hand prepared coffee when that is what you offer, consider giving it to them. You are a craft coffee culture. Otherwise it is a huge disappointment. Plenty of parking out front in the mall. Easy access on the highway right next to the gas station. My most recent visit there my drink had space in the cup, the barista asked what I wanted to do with it, which is fine, but while I was still explaining that I wanted the flavor balanced and not watered down with milk, she walked away mid-conversation and said she couldn't add more espresso. no clear explanation, mention about cost or options. She finished the drink and slid it over with no lid. She said they don't use lids because people might want to add things to their drink, but there was nothing available for customers to add The positives were my drink was good, and the shop is clean with nice merch, but don't expect friendly, helpful service or to feel like your dollar is wanted.

The first time I got and iced latte with their regular milk (I'm assuming whole milk). It tore my stomach up!!! The second time I went, I got the same latte but opted for Almond milk instead. Why did it also mess my stomach up?!! It's so upsetting to me, because I love the vibe of this place and the way that the coffee tastes, but unfortunately, my lactose intolerance hates Summer Moon. There's a nice seating area - you can usually find a spot to sit unless it's peak times on the weekend. They have a selection of pastries from local spots and some toast/sandwich offerings. I use their overtone beans at home (they also offer a cup of coffee with each purchase of a bag of beans), but when I'm in the shop I love getting a cortado, cold brew with cold foam, or lattes. They offer fun seasonal drinks - some of my recent favorites were blackberry rhubarb latte, pumpkin cream cold brew, & cherry mocha! You can also follow their instagram for occasional super-limited drinks like a "cup of dirt" dessert inspired cold brew they did for Halloween weekend.
