Found this coffee shop in downtown Frisco that is absolutely ideal for working from. I ordered a latte and settled in at a table here for the better part of a morning. I loved the large windows where you can glance up and watch the world go by. The latte art was intricate, so kudos to the staff for mastering this skill. I had no trouble finding an outlet. The bathrooms were clean. Business started to pick up later in the morning and I didn't want to hog a table, so I took a stroll around the tree-lined brick front shops downtown. This place is a very cute coffee shop that was near my office and so I decided to give it a try. When I entered, the aesthetic of this cafe was very nice and there were plenty of seating options available as well. I ordered the Iced Matcha and a chocolate croissant. the Iced Matcha was good, wish it was a little less milky but that is a preference thing but the chocolate croissant was a bit disappointing. The croissant itself was big but I couldn't really get to the chocolate until I ate most of the croissant bread. I just wish there was a more even ratio of chocolate to croissant dough. Renew coffee used to be pretty good and it was one of my go to spots. The staff is always so nice and friendly. I came in and this places quality has dropped significantly. I came in twice since the new owners and regret it badly. First time I noticed the products are way cheaper and worse and the second time I set down my laptop and was setting it up to get to work before I grabbed my coffee and the owner told me that I can't be here unless I buy something. Something that's never been a problem before. The matcha is like the cheapest and lowest possible quality they can server compared to their old stuff. Their baked goods are probably from target or something and they used to be homemade. You can tell that the new owners just want cut costs and squeeze every little bit of profit from the business as possible. When I asked how the new owners were the person at the register made a visibly indifferent face when they were describing them. So I guess it's safe to assume the new owners are also putting the workers through it as well. Summary: New owners are greedy and suck, traded quality and previous store culture for their pockets. read more

I waited quite a while for this to be heated and it came out to me cold in the center. Not ok but I didn't have time to deal with it. Vibe inside was nice but it was warm and breezy so I sat outside. Price for things were a bit inflated but within limits. Service could be better for customers asking for assistance for to go items. A very cute coffee shop in a very cute area of Frisco with lots of options for drinks and pastries. It got pretty busy when we got there, but we were still able to find some seats. Got a LAVENDER LATTE and an ALMOND CROISSANT and they were both delicious. Not too strong of a lavender taste and didn't taste watered down which is always my fear when trying new coffee shops. Enjoyed the latte, so I figured I would try something else, so I got the RENEW PEACH and VEGAN COOKIES. The renew drink was the perfect amount of sweetness for me -- not overbearingly sweet and didn't taste artificial. The vegan cookies were some of the best vegan cookies I've ever had (which rarely is ever the case). Would definitely stop back in to this coffee shop again. read more

Ordered a latte and it had a pretty strong smoky/burnt flavor, with a sour aftertaste that lingered. I also noticed the portafilter wasn't fully cleaned between shots because there was still some residue left after knocking out the puck. That might be affecting the taste. The pastries taste like generic store brand certainly not the quality I am used to. It is very sad I loved coming here before. Love this cute coffee place! I met up a friend here last weekend and ordered the most delicious chai tea latte with oat milk. I also got the pesto croissant that was recommended to me by one of the employees and it did not disappoint! The croissant was flaky and the pesto and cheese was the perfect amount to make it savory but not overpowering which sometimes pesto can be. The inside is cute and clean with nice comfy seating and tables. It's a bit on the smaller side but I didn't have trouble finding a seat. Will definitely be back! read more

Cool cafe nestled in Frisco Square with a great vibe. Most importantly, the coffee is on point. Frisco has a lot of coffee shops but not a lot of actual good ones, but this one definitely is. The coffee quality, crema, and frothing technique for the flat white was exceptional. They sell pastries like croissants and breads, and also make their own cakes. We didn't try the cakes but they look pretty good, more like an Asian style with whipped cream and not as sweet. The cinnamon swirl pumpkin bread was very good, had great flavor and very moist. Amazing & Quaint Coffee N Bakery. This place was recommended by a Friend. We met on a Saturday morning for hot tea. The hot tea was served in the sweet glass tea kettles with matching tea cups with a side of honey. It was such a sweet way to present it to us as we sat and had a nice time of catch up as friends that hadn't seen each other in a few months. Every now and then I would glance around at the customers as they were walking in the Renew coffee and bakery. Some people would come in with their laptops and would plug them in the outlets provided, near the seating areas. Others sat in this circle of seating where they were enjoying coffee, tea, andpastries, all smiling, talking and laughing. As I continued to visit with my friend, I thanked her for recommending this sweet and quaint coffee, and bakery for our time to meet and catch up. This made for such a lovely Saturday morning. I don't know how this place has 4.5 stars. Maybe because it's the only show on the square. The drinks are okay and the pastries are diverse- that's where the positives end. I'm usually waiting 20 minutes for an iced coffee and a pastry. Today I was waiting for my pastry long after I got my coffee. The toaster went off and the dude just sat there waiting for the girl to comeback upfront and take it out. Nobody is going to mad if you take over for her. A couple of the staff are friendly, but the others have an attitude and are not very welcoming. There's no communication between employees. They just do their one task (slowly) and don't help the other. Every time I've been in there there's cups on tables and will sit the whole time I am there. It doesn't take long to pick it up and wipe down a table; especially when there's people looking for a clean seat. The tile floor is covered with mop streaks. They must just be using water and calling it a day. The lady, who I believe to be the owner, is sweet- but doesn't hold anybody to a standard. read more

I've been to Renew Coffee many times and yesterday I came in to grab coffee with a friend. I ordered the blueberry latte (not my usual drink from here but I wanted to try something new) and the espresso was a bit too tart for me so I went back and asked if I could get a different drink after having a few sips. Typically, when I've had a similar experience at other coffee shops, it's not an issue to exchange for something else and either pay the difference if the 2nd drink is a more expensive drink or not have to pay for the new drink but I had to pay full price for a new drink so in total I spent $14 for two drinks when I only drank one. That experience was disappointing on the customer service front but the strawberry matcha which I ordered as the 2nd drink was good, and the ambiance was calm. I would return, but I don't think I'll be as willing to try something new on the menu to avoid having a similar experience and I do hope that they make changes when it comes to how to handle when a customer is not pleased with their drink order. read more

This coffee place has been around for a while. But I didn't get a chance to drop in until lately. So far, I've been here a few times already. This time I ordered an iced coffee and banana cake. I really love the cake. It's moist and sweet, but not too sweet. I particularly like the coconut flakes on top. They are very crunchy and toasty. I also tried their almond croissant. Of course, I liked the almond flakes, as well as the glazed sugar coating on top. There are also other cakes and pantries, which are all elegantly and deliciously made. The modern decor is excellent. I particularly like the lighting. Another thing worth mentioning is there are quite a lot of green plants inside, giving you an air of freshness. All the chairs are well-padded, which makes it a cozy place to relax or if you like get some work done. There are also a few tables right outside. If the Texas heat is cooperating, take a seat outside and enjoy the quiet street scene off the busy Main Street. The serve staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about they do. I have bookmarked this place for about a year after seeing all the colorful latte with beautifuuuulll latte art, but it's the cute marshmallows that gave me the motivation to make my husband drive us here across town lol. 1 Star for latte art They definitely did not disappoint. From such an aesthetic decoration, the little details on their serving wares, to the delicious drinks and desserts. We would for sure come here more often if we lived closer. 3 stars for quality and atmosphere If you have never been to a Korean owned cafe/coffee shop, you're missing out! Super cute little cafe in Frisco commons! You should come here for the adorable little marshmallow animal heads alone! Doesn't hurt that their Chai tea latte is bomb. Decor is very relaxing and the ambient Cafe music is ideal for a working spot. They even place power strips under each table and 5g wifi is complimentary. I had to ask for spoon to scoop up my latte. When the drink was very hot, I didn't want to take big gulps and instead I wanted to scoop it and drink little by little. On Sunday afternoon it was full. Love this little coffee shop in downtown Frisco. It's located conveniently in front of the city hall and library. I first heard about this place because they sell their lattes with cute little animal marshmallow (extra $1.8 to add). I came for the marshmallow but was actually amazed by their latte! They do run out real quick so I would suggest giving the shop a call before coming in if you're here for the marshmallow. I like how they have "healthier" drink options to pick from. I got the turmeric latte - it tasted like Chinese medicine... lol but in a good way. I felt good after drinking it. Definitely coming back to try more of this latte flavor and maybe the cheesecake and pastries. The only thing I do want to warn everyone about is they are open for indoor seating without really any "social" distance marking. When I went in, none of the customers dining in were wearing mask (even though most of them were just on their laptop, studying, etc.). The staffs do have their mask on at all time.
