What a cute little coffee shop we found in the downtown area! I got the blended Java Chip and my husband got the espresso milkshake. The Java Chip was a 10/10. I'd absolutely get it again. My husband said his drink was really good too. The only downside is the construction around the area, but that's just temporary. LATE SUNDAY MORNING: It was CRAMPED! Very busy, which likely means, it's very loved! Their online ordering system kind of took over the shop - it would be really cool if they developed an "online orders pickup" that was in someway separate from the vibe of the dining room. It was super loud and crowded because of the online orders. Even though the staff was busy, they were still kind, hardworking and knew their stuff. I'd suggest someone to tend to the dining room during this weekly busy time - it needed quite a bit of clean-up attention. Coffee was awesome! But I probably would not wait 20 minutes again for it. Hands down the best coffee I've ever had! I'm usually a Starbucks coffee drinker, but I drink the fancy stuff that my husband and mom proudly tell me is not real "coffee", but on this particular day we were in Frisco for the annual community parade and the friends we were with told us about Summer Moon as a great coffee place in the area. It was super busy when we stepped in, line to the front door, but it moved rather quickly and I appreciated the extra time to peruse the menu and figure out what I wanted. I decided on the Mocha Moon latte which is prepared with half moon sweetness and because I like the fancy stuff from Starbucks the sweetness was absolutely PERFECT! I ordered the 12 oz and immediately wished I'd ordered the 16 oz. My husband, who usually orders the Nitro Cold Brew from Starbucks, ordered their 1/4 Summer Moon latte which he really enjoyed! Their loaves were all gluten free so he also decided to get a coffee cake which he devoured so, I guess he liked it...lol! The setup inside is great! There's seating for small and medium sized groups. I think there was also additional seating behind the kitchen, but I didn't venture back there. They have candles, cups, shirts and other merchandise for sale and I really appreciated that you could order online which we will absolutely be doing next time and I recommend for anyone who is visiting because this place is popular and it can take them a minute to get your drink out. This is it! Wow was I blown away when I got my latte this morning. I ordered a small latte medium roast with almond milk and extra cinnamon. The taste was smooth and light, paired perfectly with the frothed milk and wasn't too watery. Overall; the cafe vibe is simple and Texan style but the taste was phenomenally. While the wife was getting coffee nature was calling so this review is only for the unisex restroom. The person who was in the restroom had been in there for quite some time so I could only imagine the worst possible scenario. Being that we were visiting from out of town, our hotel was far away and I didn't see any other establishments close enough other than the dumpster. Fast forward a couple minutes and the person left the restroom. The normal Texas humidity could be felt but you could also tell they had exhaust fans blowing along with an air freshener that was pleasant. Whatever the person did before me I could not tell what happened if anything. After my call from nature was completed, I turned the water to warm and warm/hot water was dispensed quickly. I washed my hands and joined my wife. I would certainly return for the restroom alone. Judging from how packed the coffee shop was, I'm sure the drinks were good too but I just wasn't in the mood for anything. Come for the restroom and leave happy! read more

Located right off of Main Street, street and lot parking were ample on a Sunday afternoon but I could see myself coming here, not finding a spot, getting pissed about not getting coffee from Summer Moon before resigning myself to Dunkin coffee. What I'm saying is.....be prepared to wait in line. It's worth it though, I promise. Even though I'm typically a boring coffee drink kind of gal, the only kind of drinks I've had at Summer Moon have been frou frou....first a peach cobble iced latte a few years back and then this time around a blueberry crisp iced latte (may or may not be technical name). If you don't get fancy drinks like this, the milk situation takes a minute to comprehend.....maybe a few mins if you're not properly coffeed up. Super great coffee and service - after a few visits I realized I'm obsessed with the quarter moon, but OMG the calories, carbs and sugar counts! A quarter moon is 250 calories for a small. If you love sweet coffee you'll love this place, but I don't however it's close to my office and I prefer to support a local coffee chain. In going on their website they do thankfully offer nutritional information, however I will say if your not getting black coffee there weren't a lot of lower calorie/carb options. Seems like their Steamed Nitro coffee might be what I try next as it's the only milk based drink that wasn't overly sweetened/caloric. There are several Summer Moon locations in the metroplex. The Fort Worth location always has college students, Keller is busy, then Dallas is new and figuring itself out. I like this location the most. This location is very comfy and fits the vibes of the area. I enjoyed a memorable day sitting in a stool near the window working on my laptop and people watching. I love the uniqueness of their drinks. The moon milk is great, but in small portions. They describe it as melted ice cream, so it's decadent and overwhelming if you don't combine it with a different dairy (e.g., 1/4 moon milk 3/4 nonfat milk). The iced chai brings me joy. I've tried a few of the baked items and I haven't found the right one yet so I recommend skipping those. Overall, I recommend Summer Moon! read more

As a visitor from CA, I've been frequenting Summer Moon for chai lattes at this Frisco location when I visit my parents for the past 8 years. This place had the best chai that was the closest in taste to my favorite coffee shop back home in SoCal. However, on my last visit a few days ago, I learned that Summer Moon changed their chai products in the last few months. I still gave their spiced chai a try. I was terribly disappointed. The spiced chai was overly flavored with spice, leaving a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Sadly, Summer Moon will no longer be my go-to shop for a chai latte. I will miss their old chai products. I stopped in to try something different. For context, I am not a coffee drinker unless I'm dead tired (emergency use only). The shop is very cute, and clean and the staff members were very nice. It seems to be a really popular place so I had high hopes. I just ordered a basic iced latte with oat milk. There was nothing special about it (which is fine, it's just a basic latte after all ), however I was more so upset that it definitely did not taste like oat milk in it (it tasted like almond milk which I reallllyyyyy do not like). Since I refused to waste 7$, was very sleep deprived, and I had already left it was just kind of an "oh well" situation. Honestly my 4$ iced latte w/ oat milk from Whole Foods would have definitely ran circles around this one (in both taste and function) but I digress! REALLY wishing we had a Summer Moon up in Michigan, or if someone could send me a recipe hack so that I can make the Moon Milk myself, that would be awesome! Husband got the Summer Moon, which is 3/4 Moon Milk and 1/4 Espresso. He's got a sweet tooth, so he absolutely loved his drink. I usually drink my coffee black or get cold brew since I'm lactose intolerant/don't like sweets, but I knew I had to try something with Moon Milk (I'm here for a good time, not a long time). The Moon Milk is DELICIOUS. I went with the Quarter Moon, which is 1/4 Moon Milk, 2/4 Skim Milk, and 1/4 Espresso. Perfect balance between the sweetness of the moon milk and bitterness of the espresso. Annndd I didn't have any of the bubble guts that I was anticipating, so double win for me! We went fairly early in the morning and they were already packed, so I suggest you either stop by right when they open, or come by if you're not in a rush to go anywhere. There a good amount of seating inside and some out back as well. Again, this is our fave spot and we're pretty picky about our drinks. Summer Moon has some of the BEST coffee I have EVER had at any coffee shop. Bold statement? Absolutely. Am I bluffing? Not in the slightest. Summer Moon slings the real deal coffee, especially when we're talking about moon milk being involved. What I love about Summer Moon so much is how unique they are. Their name, Summer Moon, comes in part due to the type of creamer/ sweetener they use for their coffee, which is called Moon Milk. Moon Milk is a house made special sweet milk that apparently has 7 secret ingredients. I want this secret recipe more than the Krabby Patty formula.. I swear that moon milk is actually crack because it's so addicting, but all I can say is that when it's added to coffee it makes for the most delicious and unreal drink compared to any other one I've tried. They do give you the option of how much moon milk you'd like as well- a quarter moon for those who like it less sweet, to half moon to 3/4 moon for the sweetest. And don't even get me started on the frappes. Some of my family lives in Frisco, and every time we go we strongly request to visit Summer Moon. It's not an 'if' but 'when' are we going. In my most recent trip to TX, we were there for 4 days. Guess how many times we had Summer Moon... yep, that's right- 4 times-- Every single day.
