Iced Caramel Blondie and Iced Irish Coffee

Caramel blonde and the Irish Coffee were our coffee selections today! Pretty good size for a medium. Flavors are great on both of them, but they are very very very sweet, so beware! Both are very creamy and you can still taste the coffee in them. Wish the coffee taste was stronger! Pro tip: scan their QR code at the register to get a free medium drink when you get their app. Worth a try if you haven't been here yet!!

If you're looking for a coffee shop that has something else other than coffee, then this is the place for you! I got a hibiscus tea with peach flavor and it was so refreshing!! They also have energy drinks too. The service was quick and the workers were really nice and answered all my questions about the drinks. The store is really clean and there's lots of tables to sit at to meet with friends or work. They had majority high top tables, a bar seating area, and a big communal table. I also saw a couch sitting area in the back too.If you come definitely bring a jacket, it gets a little chilly inside!! Overall, great coffee shop. I will be back for my tea :)

This was my first time trying Black Rock Coffee, and I was thoroughly impressed! I ordered the Caramel Blondie, and it was absolutely delicious--easily one of the best drinks I've had across all the coffee spots I've visited. The shop itself was clean, modern, and inviting, with plenty of parking available, which made the visit even better. I'll definitely be coming back!

I love black rock and honestly stop by at least 3-4 times a week mid afternoon . I loved the caramel blondie at first but switched over to the Mai Tai recently, at first it was great!!! Aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tasted great, not too much syrup like most places. Now within the past 2-3 weeks I notice they have stopped blending the drink and all of the syrup sits on the top in a pool. I think this was pretty recent so I'm not sure if new staff has come in and been lazy with blending the drinks or a recipe change but it has made me think of switching back to Starbucks which is conveniently right next door. Yes it's a little annoying to receive an unblended drink once or twice and have to mix it with the straw but it's every time I order a 'blended drink'. I stop at black rock when I'm on the go or in a rush and don't want to have to make a mess mixing my own drink when I pay 6$ and tip for it to come that way in the first place. I want to end this by saying I love black rock and the staff used to be so great!!! I'm not sure what caused the change but it's been about 2 weeks waiting for it to get better with nothing changing.

First time visiting this location. I ordered the Nitro cold brew with vanilla and a bagel. Jaden was the cashier and he was so helpful and friendly. Loved my coffee and the ambience. I worked from here remotely for the day I'll definitely be back.

As far as nitro cold brews go, this place does some magic with oat milk and their syrup. An XL nitro cold brew with ; pumps syrup will put you back under $8 but your mouth and energy level will take you to the moon. You're welcome and meet you at the drive through. Don't be fooled by the outside; it may look small and plain but once you open that door, you're stepping into a modern large barista shop with a dope interior. Plenty of seating and some lounge sofas to hang at when you're here so it's a great place to relax or catch up on work/adult things. As for the coffee, the latte I ordered tasted fine with a good amount of milk foam. Staff is helpful and helped me navigate the menu as a first timer. Seems like a fairly new place in the south Katy area. It'll be jumping when the area is fully developed so might as well enjoy it before the crowds start swarming.

First time there and I used the drive-thru. The person taking my order was super friendly and took her time answering my questions. I went w/ the Mexican Mocha hot size small for $4 and change. My coffee was ready pretty quickly and piping hot. The Mexican Mocha was semi-sweet and strong. Next time I'll try it iced or blended since I enjoyed it. So after a few visits things aren't as they seem. The first few times they had their baristas on point. Not so much now present day. After emailing about my experience I was given a free drink which in my opinion is okay. Getting my drinks the sameeeee outcome. Hot cup with no sleeve, forgot the cream and sugar, order completely wrong, the barista super monotoned and not courteous whatsoever. Sorry but after the last 4 trips I'll stick to a Starbucks. read more

Not only is their coffee amazing, but the staff truly make this place a great experience. They are all super friendly, greet you with a smile, and talk to you like a friend. We love Black Rock Coffee Bar! They have a great selection and their staff is generally fun and chatty. If you aren't looking for sugary (I typically don't), they have plenty of sugar free options. I'm usually boring and like a simple latte, however. The prices are great and I love the happy hour. We have been big fans since they opened and typically this is our go-to coffee place. read more

Ordered two dry cappuccinos and returned for remake twice as full of foamed milk. After two remakes the guy (doesn't qualify as a barista) insisted he only put a little bit of milk and the rest foam. He obviously doesn't know the difference between foam and steamed milk!! The weight of the drink alone should have provided him a clue but he was definitely clueless - he just kept steaming the milk and pouring it straight into the cup, incredibly arrogant and not customer focused. Just gave up as it seems this location is suffering the much talked about issue of having to rely on unqualified staff!! Couldn't believe he just kept making the same mistake over and over. Can't comment on the coffee as it was full of watery milk!!! read more

I am obsessed with this coffee shop!! My favorites are caramel truffle and blackout. The caramel truffle is slightly sweeter than the blackout but overall they taste almost the same. The price is unbeatable, the extra large, which is 32oz, is only almost $6. That's crazy. The most affordable coffee in Katy. Their customer services are exceptional. I feel so welcomed and appreciated every time I visit them. They do more than what a cashier suppose to do. If you do drive thru, they would chat with you while waiting on your drinks. Unlike the other places where they would just shut the window. They're all super friendly. The place is very clean and spacious. I'm not a coffee person but this place has successfully convinced me so. Definitely my go-to coffee place!! read more

Just tried this place after looking up coffee shops on Yelp. The menu was easy to read and the person that took my order was very nice as it was our first time and we needed to look at the menu and ask questions. We ordered a caramel blondie and the Mexican mocha. Both were good. The Mexican mocha was on special which was a nice surprise so it was only $3. At the window they were very courteous and gave our dog a treat! read more

Quality control needs improvement. More than once I've received unfinished drinks meaning they leave stuff out and doesn't look anything like the picture. The last time I was there I was watching the girl washing the blender in between drinks. She never emptied out the blender all the way so people were getting a lot of backwash mixed in with their drinks. read more

Tasty espresso in my soy latte (baristas here know what they're doing). Lots of flavor options for the coffee drinks: I'm pretty excited to come back and try everything. Upcharges for add-ins are a little pricey (I think it was more than $0.50 for alternative milk or additional flavor syrup), but sometimes you've gotta treat yourself. read more

I think this is the best coffee place in Katy! Their drinks are very smooth and have a very nice flavor to them all. My favorites were the iced blackout, the caramel blondie chiller, and the iced hazelnut latte. Service has always been great every time I've come and even better yet they have happy hour every day for $2 medium sized drinks which is a pretty great deal if you ask me. I always prefer to support local businesses where possible and this place has become a staple for my family. read more

This is our new coffee spot! Every time we come, we question why people would rather sit in line for 20 minutes at Starbs. The service is here is quick and they are all super friendly! The coffee tastes 10/10 every time, we never feel like it could have been better when we re-order the same drinks. Personally I think the roast is good for an every day coffee drinker. It is the best spot to get that sweet caffeine fix for those who don't care too much about the quality of the roast but more about the sweet/fun taste. Blackrock is our Saturday morning ritual now! read more

Large variety of flavors and drink variations. If you're looking for coffee quality, I don't recommend. If you're into sweet drinks and all types of flavored coffees/drinks, I do. I got the cold brew and it was a bit too acidic and when I added cream, the coffee flavor just tasted watered down and gone. Also tried the mexican mocha, it tasted like spiced chocolate milk with a tiny hint of coffee to me. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is always so friendly, and the coffee is always amazing! When I had mentioned to the girl at the window that it was my birthday after she asked me if I had any fun plans for that day, she immediately refunded my card and said "you don't need to pay for drinks on your birthday!" Both drinks were fantastic--well balanced, and the banana bread latte really tasted like its namesake without being overly sweet. The croissant was average, though I appreciated the smaller size compared to the oversized ones you usually see. The barista was knowledgeable and genuinely engaged with customers, which made the experience stand out. One downside: the Wi-Fi was slow, even when it wasn't busy, so I ended up using my phone hotspot. I'd come back to try the matcha and explore more of the food menu.

Black Rock Coffee has quickly become one of my go-to coffee spots, and for good reason. Every visit starts with a friendly greeting and a genuinely positive attitude from the staff. The coffee itself is excellent, with a wide variety of drinks that go far beyond the standard coffee shop menu. Whether you're in the mood for a classic coffee, a specialty latte, a blended drink, or one of their energy beverages, there's something for everyone. I've yet to try a drink that wasn't flavorful, well-made, and served quickly. My go-to is an iced Mexican mocha. One thing I've really enjoyed is watching their breakfast menu continue to expand. It's nice to have more options when you're looking for a quick bite in the morning. The food pairs well with their coffee offerings and makes it easy to grab breakfast and get on with your day without sacrificing quality. The atmosphere is another reason I keep coming back. This is not a location I'd visit when caffeine deprived or in a rush. However, given the amount of coffee and tea options within a mile of this spot, it's pretty impressive! Some guy with a tablet finally comes up to our car before we get to the window to take our order. My boyfriend says he has a free drink and wants to use it for one of the drinks we want to order. I guess the other guy didn't get the memo that there are 2 people on the car and not 1. Because the guy scanned his app and placed the order for that one free medium drink and then just said "ok your order will be at the window". Sir, there are 2 people in the car, why would we order 1 drink? And who ends the order with "your order will be ready up there"?? I've worked in service, you always end with "is there anything else I can do for you?". Not just blatantly cut us off and assume we're done with our order. Finally he takes our second order and didn't even scan my boyfriend's app again. So we didn't get points for that order. Then the food we ordered looked put together so half assed like these people didn't care how the food was handled. The whole experience felt rushed and like they just wanted us out of there/ we were an inconvenience. Extremely disappointed, do better y'al. Oh and apparently I need to say something about the ambiance? We didn't go inside, I don't even think we could if we wanted to.
