The wait was a bit much for a Friday morning. From an operations stand point they should really consider having more than 2 people working at a time. The two folks who were working were WORKING. This place is my new coffee bar. What I love most is the Ambiance - it's chic. I'll grab a cup of specialty coffee and sit at a community table, then take out my work or journal. Customer service - The baristas have always been very nice and have great customer service. They make great recommendations, so far my favorite are the Mexican Mocha and the Blackout. Mexican Mocha - I enjoy the hint of Almond and Cinnamon. Blackout - I have always been a fan of Hazelnut. They also have a customer reward program. FYI - the music is a little louder than most other coffee shops, so if that's an issue, you may want to bring noise cancelling headphones. read more

Black Rock Coffee Bar- expanded to the Richmond area. The location is convenient. They were having various opening week deals. I had a chance to stop by before work to indulge in a free 160z coffee. I went with a Mexican Mocha that was highly suggested by the gentleman whom was directing the traffic and guiding us through the line. I was able to get my iced coffee with almond milk and less sugar. A free iced coffee is always a good idea! The service was great! Check them out. read more

I was so good excited to try this place out. Been hearing so many positive reviews about other locations. Sadly this one doesn't live up to my expectations. I ordered a simple hot chocolate that tasted like straight milk with a hint of cocoa. This place is not for people who want to study or get work done. No free WiFi. Need to use your own mobile hotspot. The noise from the staff screaming at each other's jokes and yelling obscenities was so embarrassing when I was on a Zoom with a student. Had to opt to sit outside in the cold to finish up my meeting. I'm happy to see a young staff enjoying their jobs but this was ridiculous. If I come back here, it will only be drive thru. read more

Wonderful coffee and customer service is impeccable! The employees were energetic and guiding everyone on the busy opening day! This is the SPOT to get coffee now because every last thing I've tried from here is made to perfection and the impeccable service in the drive thru leaves nothing to be desired. Highly recommend you swing by and try the white mocha latte it's fantastic!!! Oh yes and that blueberry muffin is delish too but I think the cutest part was their signature puppacino because I had my dog with me and it's a toss up who enjoyed their latte more but even the fact that they offer that for furry friends it's so adorable I just can't! Horrible place. We have been there multiple times. Every time they mess the order up one way or another. This last time I ordered a simple iced latte with coconut flavor. They made it regular with no flavor and regular ice. Not the first time they miss the flavor. Also, their points system is so confusing, they tell us we will get a free drink next time and we never got anything. I don't want their feee drink, just want my drink made right!! And good luck getting hold of them after u leave! They don't have a contact number for the store! Definitely regret stopping by every time! Not going again. read more

To Owners, why are you giving customers an iPad through drive thru to pay instead of just taking our CC or tap with Square or Clover ? I really like this place, coffee is good, fast-service, nice atmosphere, and loads of tables to study at. My only complaint is the music is really, really loud so it makes it very difficult to study there. I'll have my noise cancelling headphones on and still hear the music clearly. My friends and I would choose to study here everyday if this weren't an issue. I've heard this complaint from many of my friends so I think if they fixed this, it would be an 11/10. read more

They are officially open as of Dec. 10, 2021! Grand opening week means lots of promotion! First day today was free 16oz drinks, all drinks: all day long. They even let me modify my beverage with additional shots and dairy alternatives. It's a busy day today but the crew was fast and efficient that even the drive thru line had drinks being pumped out comparable to the speed of service at Chick-fil-a. The interior was really nice and spacious but the music was booming loud (despite the great selection of songs.) Definitely a great social hangout, but I probably wouldn't recommend studying here simply because the ambience doesn't really seem catered for that (for now.) Lots of radiant, bright, and courteous smiles from the staff and excellent coffee. Stop by opening week for the rest of their cool discounts and gear! I myself had the iced caramel blondie with oat milk, an extra shot, and added chocolate drizzle and it was delightful to say the least. I can see this location inducing heavy traffic after school hours, so I'll try to stop by during normal business operations. Good luck to Black Rock during opening week! I come here all the time and for the past two weeks they tell me on the speaker that they're not using it so you pull up. Well today I pulled up and ordered at window. Some guy in there was like you need to order at the speaker box which I replied all week I order at the window, that orders are backed up. Tried this today instead of heading to the normal giant coffee chain for a special treat for myself . Out of sheer curiosity, i came to Yelp to see what the reviews were. Surprisingly (or not) had the exact same experience; spent 7 dollars (after tip) on an oat milk matcha latte. I took 2 sips, then dumped it. I don't have the type of personality to walk back in and demand refunds, but my latte made me gag. Like fishy, spoiled milk. But the drive thru service was quick and friendly, but man. I order a smoothie with no whip cream they made it correct as I'm paying I advise the guy make sure it has not whip cream. Instead of him listening he tells her to add it then I catch him and tell him I said no whip so he tells her take it off. No sir you messed up from not listening remake it I didn't pay for something I don't want floating on it. She comes to the widow saying I took it out I said no it's still pieces of whip floating in it what if I'm allergic she tells me well it has dairy in it so do you want another type of milk. I am very disappointed from what happened today, so we went me and my husband today to get a cup of coffee from black rock the one on Bellfort Richmond, Tx there were 2 employees there, one was with pink hair and the other was African American, and the only reason am mentioning that was bc they didn't even turn to look at us, or even said hi I couldn't see their faces even they were both trying to look busy, I understand it's Saturday night but at least say something ok one was supposed to serve drive thru and the other wasn't she suppose to serve whoever comes inside? I didn't get it tho. we stayed there waiting for 15 mins then my husband asked the girl if she's gonna serve us she ignored him and said ohh I can't hear you. Then we decided on going to Dutch Bros place, the people there are very nice and have nice customer service and their coffee is way better. read more
