Tropical Smoothie Cafe has become one of my favorite lunch spots. I originally thought it was just a place for smoothies, but it's so much more than that. The Mango Magic smoothie is consistently excellent, the Jerk Chicken Flatbread is packed with flavor, and the sweet potato fries are absolutely delicious. It's one of those places where you can enjoy a genuinely filling meal and still get a great smoothie to go with it. It's also a great spot for families - everyone can find something they like, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it's easy to enjoy a meal together. Good food fast. I had the southwest quesadilla and my wife had a jerk chicken bowl. Both were really good, although the quesadilla could have had more chicken in it, but still enough to be tasty. My friend told me about this place so we tried it and loved the smoothies. We love the health nut and pomegranate one. I was on a liquid diet so I naturally wanted smoothies but that were healthy. This place is marketed eat better feel better but when I saw how they prepared the smoothies it is a lie. They put one scoop of fruit and the rest is concentrate juice with ice and water. I worked at Jamba Juice and all its smoothies had real fruit, juice and sherbert depending on the flavor. When I asked the person why it's all juice he explained he can't have all fruit smoothies and concentrate preserves the freshness and quality. Well concentrate isn't healthy for people watching what they eat. I was turned off by the lie on the board because it says pomegranate, banana, cranberries and strawberries. So it's a small scoop of strawberries and the rest was juice concentrate so you don't actually have the fruit in it. Maybe you should be clear about what is actually in your smoothies?! read more

I just recently discovered this restaurant. During this quarantine I have been bored and tired of eating home cooked food. I seen someone on a YouTube channel that I watch go to this restaurant and remembered that I had one nearby. I went to the drive thru today and was a little overwhelmed by the menu. The person taking my order was very patient and kind. I ordered the Baja chicken wrap and the Strawberry Limeade smoothie. I also got the children's Turkey wrap and a Lil lime berry for my daughter. Went through the drive thru and a girl started to take my order. I asked her what the discount is that they're advertising at 24 hour fitness. All of a sudden the owner who has a thick Indian accent started speaking and asked me if I'm a personal trainer at 24 and what discount I have. I told him I'm a member and am asking about the 24 hour fitness discount that is advertised at their facility on the tv screens and front desk, he continued to state "you need to go find out what discount you want". I told him just leave it and I'll take the two wraps I ordered and not the smoothie since you can't tell me the discount I receive as a 24 hour fitness member so he cause an attitude even harder and told me ok just stop ordering over the telecom and come to the window. What pathetic service and rude demeanor are you using towards your customers. I'm never coming here again and I've been here several times in duty uniform and received special treatment but if you can't provide your citizen patrons the level of respect that they deserve then you don't deserve anyone's business in my department or anyone I know for that matter. My new favorite place!!! While waiting in my car for my nephew to get the new iPhone 6 from the Sprint Store, I decided to grab a quick bite here since it was right next door. The smoothies here are pretty massive... 24 ounces! The smoothie was fantastic! It tasted great. It does not taste like a vegetable drink so if you are afraid of that, you don't need to worry. Some people may have a problem drinking something green, but I assure you it is good. Actually I wouldn't mind if it was loaded up with more veggies since I am use to making my own fresh juice with kale and other veggies. They have a great assortment of healthily looking smoothies that should satisfy anyone. I can't wait to try some others on my next visit! The 24oz smoothies cost $4.99 but if you add a wrap or flatbread with it you only pay $2 more! I was expecting to pay about $10 for my wrap and smoothie but it ended up only costing $6.99 plus tax! Now for my review on the flatbread item. I went with the Chipotle Chicken Club. It was made fresh and was totally awesome. Everything about it was good. After I took my first bite I knew I would be coming back again. Here is the thing... I think when people write reviews on Yelp, a lot has to do with a persons initial expectations! Why did I give this place 5 stars??? Maybe it was because I didn't read anyone's review first and had no expect ions coming in? But what I can say is that after taking my first bite of my chipotle chicken club flatbread and my first drink of my smoothie, that was what I was feeling this place deserved! Their ciabatta bread was just right, not overly soft overly to crispy. After eating our lunch in the car and finished our shopping at Pier 1, we stopped by again for a smoothie for the road. We knew sharing 1 smoothie wasn't enough and we would be craving another one, so we ordered the Kiwi and it was so refreshing. We got a cookie too :). It was big enough for both of us to share. Well, they ADD turbinado sugar to all of their smoothies!! It's in fine little print, so if you think you are being healthy by drinking these, you are mistaken. That's just as bad as Jamba Juice.
