Accidentally found this place today, running errands in the area rare to have a coffee shop with this much space this much room and such great relaxing vibes. Today was the grand opening day for this location. It was crazy busy. They only had the drive through open (not the parking lot), otherwise you had to park across the street and walk over. The car line was around the block but the line inside was short and moved quickly. The staff were excited to welcome everyone and they were all super friendly. I ordered a Mexican mocha 1/4 sweet with oat milk and light ice. It was perfect. This was my first time having black rock coffee but not my last!! Their drinks are always super good but every time I ask for very very light ice, they fill up my cup halfway. The drinks are good so I want to get as much as I can, but they put so much ice in it. It gives me less of a drink, there's no reason I should be paying nine dollars for a drink when it's mostly ice. I don't know if I'm supposed to start describing them light ice or something but I feel like they should just be doing it themselves. Fist time at this location. I love that we now have a blackrock that we can sit inside. My husband and I went in to journal and sketch while we drank our coffee. We went around 10am. It was pretty mellow at this time. We got bagels to go with our coffee. They are deffinitly not stingy with the cream cheese which is a plus! The ambiance deffinitly gives off a creative coffee house. You can either sit at a table or the few big chairs they have. when we were traveling in AZ, i saw a bunch of black rock coffee shops but did not get the opportunity to try them out. while in north sd, we passed by one and had to pump the brakes and stop in! this location recently opened in sept of this year. there is a drive thru and walk in with a huge seating area! loved the decor! the menu offers plenty of different types of drinks from teas, coffee to energy drinks. i ordered: iced caramel blondie cold brew with cream strawberry passion green tea with dragonfruit and ofc a pup cup! service was great and drinks were ready fairly quick. i love the iced caramel blondie, not too sweet, def want to try the shaken espresso next. parking: parking avail, there was a long line for the drive thru but no issues leaving the lot, there was.a second lane, as if the building may have been a bank prior? read more

So it has been awhile since I've been to a black rock coffee spot. I like how this one is an actual cafe and not just a drive thru coffee place. It is their grand opening so everyone gets free coffee!!! Everyone from beginning of this line until I got my coffee was nice. It only took 20 mins even tho there was quite a long line. From the outside it looks so clean. The coffee I got was ok. I got the hazelnut chocolate iced coffee. The bacon burrito I got wasn't very good. It was a little cold on some parts and I was wondering if it was fully cooked. I do like their coffee from time to time. I just won't get their burritos. We decided to check out the new Black Rock location in Vista today at around 10 am. I love that they have a spacious looking indoor seating area. However, we opted for the drive thru. It was Day 2 for this location and food was 50% off. We ordered the warm coffee cake with our iced Black Out and hot Mexican Mocha. It was pretty busy when we arrived. There was a long line that went quickly. It's 2 am and I am certain it's the coffee keeping me awake! It happens every time I have Black Rock! The coffee was very good and consistent with the other location. Our coffee cake was served warm, and it was delicious with gooey crumbles on top and winding through the cake. My hubby called it dangerous! All I know is that I'm definitely ordering it again. I forgot to take a picture of it because we devoured it quickly. It was pretty though! read more

I know I'm late to the game but I have never had black rock till recently, but I'm hooked. The fact they have Irish cream sold out for me. It has been perfect all 3 times that I've been and I tried all the sizes just to pick a size I preferred . The drive thru line always sends long so I mobile order and my drink is always ready when it says it will be. The inside has always been nice and clean. I had the best hot vanilla latte ever! The young ladies that were working in there were really hustling and the wait time was very short. I was very impressed with their customer service. When you go to a business and everything is that good, you can't wait to go back. The flavor of the coffee is better than anything I've had in Vista. After visiting the cafe 5+ times with friends the past couple months to catch up with coffee I was kicked out today for studying. I was planning to buy a drink after my interview via zoom & was told since I have not bought anything yet the cafe is for paying customers only...I sat down for 20 mins preparing for the zoom and 5 mins before a girl who has seen me buy drinks every time I came kicked me out for not buying one right when I sat down first. My wife, who is recovering from spine surgery due to a tumor being removed and having stage 4 liver cancer, was denied immediate restroom access at the Black Rock Coffee Bar in Vista (905 S Santa Fe Ave) on 04/22/2026 despite visibly needing urgent assistance. She was required to make a purchase and wait, and only after explaining she was disabled was she allowed access. My wife can barely walk using her walker as an assistant. This reflects a serious lack of compassion and proper training in handling customers with disabilities. I am an Environmental Health and Safety Consultant and I recommend this place get training for their staff ASAP. read more

I love Black Rock and have been a customer for years since living in Oceanside and now Vista. I have been a drive-thru customer mostly and was super excited to finally see a Black Rock with a nice indoor seating area. Today was the first time I decided to do some computer work inside and enjoy the seating area, however I quickly found out that there is only one table with access to an outlet, which was taken. I wish there were more outlets for customers to use, other than that I think the coffee, snacks, and service are all great! read more
