I checked this place out with my boyfriend since he got a gift card from a neighbor. It's a cute neighborhood cafe with beautiful desserts. The service was friendly. We ordered the large honeydew with brown sugar boba and this peach dessert to share. The honeydew boba was marked as one of their most popular options, so I was disappointed that the boba was very over cooked and too soft. It was also served with crushed ice, so occasionally I would also get small pieces of ice coming through the straw, which I did not care for. The peach dessert was gorgeous in the case but I think the way it was served in an oversized plastic container that I'm guessing they also use to sandwiches did make the experience feel a little less luxe. I think for $15 it could have been in an appropriately sized container. It was nice tasting, but I'm not sure I would come here again. read more

I stopped by and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the space is fantastic, it's inviting with plenty of tables, making it a great spot to sit and relax or get some work done. The service was also good and the staff was friendly throughout my visit. However, rhetorical dood was a bit of a let down. I tried the cinnamon roll, and while the staff was kind enough to heat it up before serving, it was just okay. Some parts were surprisingly hard, which made it less enjoyable than i expected for a dessert lounge. Cute little cafe tucked into the corner of a shopping plaza- ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating and free WiFi. Add to that pretty good drip coffee (I didn't try any of the fancier drinks) and delicious baked goods- you have a winner! The staff is very nice, not pushy but happy to answer questions. Solid coffee spot. Favorites are Iced Vanilla Latte and Hot LaVa (Lavender Vanilla). Another go-to is the Sea Salt Iced Coffee. I order that when I want my coffee to be more of a sweet treat. Talitha Coffee is their brand of choice. I prefer to order in person instead of mobile. Their platform isn't for me. It feels cumbersome to navigate. At the register, I always make sure to check in to get Cash App stars and have used the 15% off reward (3 Stars) on numerous occasions. Skybound offer desserts too. It's in their name! Instead of ordering one from the restaurant, we'll stop by on the way home. Selection varies but there's always something that satisfies our sweet tooth. Skybound is perfect for a coffee meetup or dessert date. Plenty of parking. There are few outdoor tables if you want the al fresco experience. I've been a patron for over 10 years. Next time I come back I need to try the cheesecakes because they look so good. I got a bagel with cream cheese and the bagel was too toasted for my liking, and I think I saw a sign they make their own bagels and they were just okay. Came in here one day to get some work done and ended up learning so much about the business! Coffee is good and the pastries are either in house made or they get them by other local bakeries which is great! The gal that worked there was super kind and walked me through their vast menu which is overwhelming because they have soooo many great choices! It's a good size cafe tucked in the corner of a shopping center (you can see it from the main road but you have to drive into the center), seating areas is decent but I think they could make better use of this space for the outlets they have especially if people come in to work. Always on a hunt for new coffee shops especially around my office. My bf and I came here on lunch and were excited and had high hopes. We both ordered the vanilla latte substituted to oat milk... this is the worst coffee I have ever had and paid way too much for. If I knew what dirt actually tasted like I think I would compare it to this coffee. Definitely not espresso, not sure If it's just extra watered down but what a waste. I really liked the toast options, I had the Tokyo toast one day and the chimichurri toast the other and both were really good. Been here many times and it never disappoints. Their beverages, coffee, teas, gelato & pastries are consistently delicious and on point. We've never been disappointed or left unsatisfied. The service is consistently good, the employees have been friendly and the drinks always come out in a timely manner. Also, great layout as far as seating. There's 4 different areas. Outdoor out in front, inside on couches, in the middle of the place there's tables and finally a high top counter with bar stools facing the outside window. Went in for a Thai tea boba and got distracted with the desserts case. The cashier said they were from a local bakery in San Diego. When asked which one she said she's not allowed to say. Cafe Americano was very good. They have events here, they were having a storytelling performance the day I went, so there was a good vibe. The prices were very high, especially the desserts. They had some interesting cakes, though. I didn't see any pastries. The decor could be better, it was a bit tacky and generic. I didn't like the seating either, because instead of small tables they had one giant communal table. Outside seating is nice, there are a couple of small tables. I've always liked Skybound for its unique atmosphere, convenient location, friendly service, and usually great food and coffee/teas. They have a really big menu to choose from, which is great. But today I got a Vietnamese coffee that was terrible. I bypassed a Vietnamese restaurant I usually get it from that was farther away. The one I got today at Skybound tasted like it was 98% 2% or whole milk with a tiny bit of coffee flavour and maybe a teaspoon of sweetened condensed milk . The server, who was very nice and efficient, told me it's pre-made with "really strong coffee" but I barely felt a buzz from it. I didn't ask for a refund because I didn't want to seem cheap, but I won't be ordering it here again. read more

It is 3 days before Christmas right now and I walk in to a wonderful employee who was kind and attentive! Luiza, I believe, was working around 9:45 AM, alone, when I came in. It was a very busy lobby and she handled it wonderfully considering the workload. I love this place, the people who work here are kind. I do wonder why they will be left alone for very long periods. Very clean and cute coffee shop with pretty much every treat you can think of: boba tea, macarons, cheesecake, freshly-baked muffins, croissants and bagels. There are definitely a lot of things I'd try but in the mornings I don't crave sweets, so I just had a bagel and oat milk latte. Another plus was the groovy music and friendly people. The place is adorably decorated and you'll find many people here studying or getting some work done. So if you're looking for a quiet cafe, M-F it's not ideal. Place was clean. The bathrooms could use a freshen up for sure. I'm sure due to the homeless, it's locked so you must ask for one of the 3 kitchen utensils attached to a key to gain entry. Flamango Smoothie was a 10/10! Tart, refreshing and that color! I really wanted to like this place, the space is cute and the staff was friendly. My husband and I stopped here on a morning walk. I was especially excited to try their house-made vanilla syrup and oat milk. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste any of it through how watered down the coffee was, which was disappointing for the price I paid. I ordered a latte and it honestly tasted more like drip coffee than an espresso drink. The flavor was thin, and the milk didn't have any texture or warmth, it just felt flat. I think with stronger espresso shots and more attention to milk prep, the drinks could be a lot better. I really love supporting local coffee shops, so I'm hoping they're able to make some improvements. I'd be open to giving it another try in the future. The desserts looked amazing though so we definitely want to be back to try those. read more

Even better is the affogato which is a scoop of ice cream in a glass of espresso. If you like coffee and ice cream, you need to try this. It's like a delicious coffee milkshake, just not blended. It's a cute little shop in a mini-mall. There's plenty of free parking in the lot. They also have other desserts like tiramisu, cookies, and other baked goods. Everything looked good. It's more than a coffee shop, it's like a cafe + a little dessert nook. I will say that it's is pretty hidden is the Albertson's shopping center, but once you find it, you'll be happy! They offer some pretty cool desserts, gelato, all sorts of sandwiches, toasts, açaí bowls, and of course, really good coffee drinks. The staff is super friendly and can answer all of your questions. I got the avocado toast and my little one got the açaí bowl. Both were really good! They don't skimp on the avocado and it has lots of flavor with the tomato, cheese, and balsamic. I also order the CA latte (is that what it was called? I can't remember), which is a low cal latte made with their homemade sugar free vanilla syrup. It was also super tasty. There are plenty of tables for a small cafe and a cute little chill area to hang out in. Just a side note: if you're avoiding sugar and carbs, there are no options on the menu, but they are willing to modify things for you. Very cute place! Very impressed with the expansive menu, drinks and food items. I came in right at open and quickly received my bakery item and coffee. However, the bathroom was very disgusting. I was the first customer in the bathroom that day and you could tell it hadn't been cleaned in likely weeks. Really ruined the positive experience. Hopefully the owners see this and step up and do a deep clean, with lots of bleach, and that they restock the supplies (toilet seat covers). Worries me that if the bathroom is that disgusting at open then what else wasn't thoroughly cleaned.
