I think I just found my new favorite local coffee shop! Now if they can just get some vegan pastries I'll be in heaven! They roast their own beans here and during the week M-F 7 am-4pm you can pick up your own tasty coffee. This little gem is hidden towards the back of a shopping center with plenty of parking. I can't tell you how excited I am to have good coffee that isn't Starbucks! The prices are fair and the staff is very friendly. I also got to try a sample of their cafe de La olla which is pretty delicious too! I want this place to stay here FOREVER! We need small businesses like this in the area. Thanks for the delicious coffee!!! I'll be back!

What a hidden gem! Stopped by Coatl this morning and we were pleasantly surprised. They're a roastery located in an unassuming strip mall/business plaza, and they're roasting up fresh beans from the Chiapas region of Mexico. The owner is so kind and informative. He gave us a sample of their award winning cold brew to try while he was making our lattes, and we don't usually drink coffee black but this was so rich and flavorful with notes of chocolate, nuts and cherries- it didn't need any sugar or milk because it was so smooth. Their signature drink is the mazapan latte, and he was telling us he likes to add chocolate to make it like a peanut butter cup or strawberry syrup to make it like a peanut butter jelly sandwich so we had to go for that since it's something so unique! And they really did taste like pb&j! One of the best lattes either of us has ever tried! The best thing is that they weren't too overwhelmingly sweet, and you can still taste the actual coffee. I could still taste the rich nutty, chocolaty notes of the arabica + robusto blend, and the owner explained how even with just the 5% of robusto you get an energy boost that'll last through the day but not keep you up all night. No wonder "I Am Your Energy" is their tag line - I really do feel energized, but amazingly not jittery! So glad we found this place!

That summer drink with the cold brew, lemonade, and strawberry at first seemed weird... but then i thought i would not be able to try this drink anywhere else... so i tried it and it was actually really good. Also, extra points for having a cool logo.

This is a cute little place! Nice and neat. They have been packaging and selling their beans wholesale and have decided to open up for the public. I ordered their mazapan latte and it is delicious it's not too sweet and you can really taste the beans and a hint of peanuts. They also serve croissants and muffins. I highly recommend this place! It's very quaint and clean. Service was excellent. I will be back for sure!

Came here on a sleepy Wednesday afternoon and in desperate need of caffeine. I loved the Mexican-inspired theme and I decided to order Marzapan coffee since I never had coffee in this flavor. The Marzapan coffee did not disappoint. It had a nutty, creamy texture and tasted almost like the candy except a little less sweet. Dorian and Luis were also super nice and I liked that I didn't have to pay until the end of my service. I also ordered a bag of coffee beans, which was around $15. I highly recommend Coatl Coffee if you are in the area. They have good coffee and service.

Cold brew was great but the ham and cheese croissant was amazing!!!

What's up with the hours here? Seems like they are in business but never open the doors to sell to customers? Anyone know what happened?

Mike went above and beyond and gave me a complimentary slice of their house banana bread. Incredibly thoughtful gesture and it was sooo good! And again not too sweet. The coffee is marginal although it will get you through. I'm kind of a purist, so I go for espresso only or Americanos where I can control water content. The esthetic is really nice and as good as the coffee. It looks like they have seasonal offering that changes with the four seasons of the year. For spring seasonal I had a pistachio latte. Vanilla flat white was just as good. I would say Carlsbad for coffee this place is a must stop.

But here's the kicker--she orders her coffee plain, simple, and black. To me? It tastes exactly like every other coffee in the world. (Don't bean me, it's just the truth!) Despite my lack of enthusiasm for bean water, we recently checked out Revolution Roasters, and I figured it was time to espresso my thoughts on the place. Spoiler alert: It was a pretty brew-tiful experience. Since I'm not a coffee guy, I let my wife handle the beverage department. She ordered an Iced Cold Brew and gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. She said it was really good, which means Revolution Roasters is definitely doing something right to keep the coffee purists happy. Now, onto my territory, the White Chocolate Scone was a hit with the wife because it wasn't too sweet. If you prefer your pastries without a side of sugar shock, this is the one for you. However, full disclosure: if you're standing there debating between this scone and the savory pot pie from the shop right across the way... I'm going with the pot pie. Sorry, scone. I also ordered the Berry & Cream Cheese Toast, which was the real MVP. Again, it wasn't overly sweet, and they nailed the ratio. There was a perfectly even, generous spread of cream cheese and berry topping. Highly recommend! Revolution Roasters is located in a super cool, market-style space filled with other neat little shops. It makes for a great, lively atmosphere. When we walked in, the line was pretty long--clearly, the secret is out. But don't let a crowd deter you! The service was incredibly smooth and helpful, and they've got the operation down to a science. Plus, despite the crowd, there was actually adequate seating for a ton of people. We didn't have to play the awkward "hover around a table until someone leaves" game. While the vibes are immaculate, there is one tiny logistical hurdle. For a coffee shop that gets this busy, there is only one bathroom. If you've just downed a large iced brew, you might have to practice some patience. All in all, Revolution Roasters ground its way into our good graces. Between the smooth service, the cool market atmosphere, and food that hits the spot, I could definitely see us filtering back in here again soon. Whether you love coffee or you're just there for the toast, it's well worth a visit!
