Kids are welcome. The local clientele is great and there's a real sense of community here. I love their playlists too. Honestly, this place is just so welcoming and chill. The beers were all light and flavorful, there will certainly be something for everyone in your group. Upon receiving our beer, we went to sit outside and listen to the live entertainment. The man singing and playing the guitar and keyboard had a fun personality and clearly wrote many of his songs. This ever-talented man, after one of his songs, thanked us for coming out and shared that he is the owner of the farm and brewery and that we were experiencing the fruits of 13 years of work by him and his wife. How incredible! Not only is this a beautiful story of a family living the dream, it also made me want to return and spend more time there. There are plenty of chairs and picnic tables to sit at while enjoying your beverages and the music, but we saw an older couple bring their own chairs, which we thought was a good idea. In addition to the by-owner music, they have a variety of board games available to play, along with several bags sets. It's also a dog-friendly spot. It was only about an hour or so away from our house, so this was a real treat. Even though it was a cloudy day in March, the distillery was so beautiful. We can only imagine how gorgeous it is in the summer. We ended up having a private tour since no one else had signed up for the 11am time slot - fine by us! Our tour guide, Bob, was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining everything in great detail. After the tour, we had our tasting. The tour and tasting we chose was The Hillrock Distillery Tour & Barrel Proof Tasting with Cheese & Charcuterie Plate - worth every penny! The bourbons were all absolutely amazing and the charcuterie plates paired perfectly with them. We ended up buying our two favorite bourbons, along with a pair of glasses and a hat for my husband. We are already trying to find another occasion to visit. Who knows...maybe we'll try The Founder's Tour next time. Thank you for making my husband's birthday so special. He was smiling for the rest of the day.

The pizza is sooo good my favorite is one they sell that has a white sauce on it instead of marinara it is delicious. They said it was amazing. They have a great selection of beers including IPAs, Stouts, Sours, and Ciders. I will say this brewery is what kindled my love for Sour beers. I have seen them frazzled a time or two when it's really busy which is understandable. All in all it's good service both bar tenders and other staff that is working hard cleaning up tables ams sweeping to make sure the tables are ready for the next round of people. Also to note this is not table service. You go to the bar and order your food and either pay there or open a tab. They then bring out your food to you. You can also get beers to take home and other merchandise such as shirts, jackets, and some packaged food items. It very family friendly! Every time I come I see tons of families here, which is nice. It's so good, I even lugged a six-pack home all the way to the train and back to the city! You simply cannot visit Hudson Valley Brewery without trying their pizza. It's one of my favorites. They had a lot of interesting beers on tap. I tried their raspberry sour, which was super refreshing. My fiance got a style of beer he had never heard of, which if you know him, is not common. It was their Fountain Skibsol Smoky Ale, which is a low ABV Danish dark ale with an intense smoky flavor. It was great and we both loved the smokiness of the beer. We snagged a spot at one of their outdoor picnic tables and it was such an enjoyable evening. They had string lights outside and everyone we interacted with was so friendly. Definitely recommend West Kill for a great atmosphere and good brews!
