I appreciated their attention to detail and their craftsmanship. Also, Jeremiah patiently answered all my questions throughout the entire process -- from the free estimate at our house through the completion of both projects. He also made several excellent recommendations regarding color, stain, layout, design and so forth. The new concrete walkway and stoop/threshold (with matching pavers) took years off the appearance of our house, which was built in 1969. The back patio also looks fantastic! They removed the original 4 concrete slabs, as well as some pavers that we had installed ourselves as a temporary fix several years ago. All of that was replaced by stamped concrete that was antiqued and sealed. One of our friends commented that the patio now resembles a European old world square. In addition, the project significantly increased the usable outdoor living space. We have received numerous compliments on both masonry projects from friends and neighbors. I would give Jeremiah and his crew 5 stars for the finished projects. I highly recommend their work! In fact, I would have given a 5 star review OVERALL but there were a couple issues that precluded me from doing so. First, I was told that the work at our house would begin between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. but no one showed up until approximately 3:30 p.m. [They had been at another site working on a concrete project that had been delayed due to rain earlier that week]. I understand scheduling conflicts can happen, especially with businesses that are at the mercy of Mother Nature. However, I would have appreciated a simple phone call to keep me in the loop. Throughout the morning and early afternoon I left voice messages with the contractor and Masonry Specialist, LLC. I sent a couple emails to the company. I even posted a message on Masonry Specialist's Facebook page. It was only through Facebook that I received a response. The second -- and main reason -- I gave 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the way the final payment process was handled. Our two projects combined were not inexpensive. Therefore, I wanted to take advantage of my credit card companies' rewards programs. I emailed Masonry Specialist and asked if I could put half the project cost on one card (to get air miles) and half on another card (to get points). Brandy at Masonry Specialist responded via email, "We can certainly accept credit cards, however, they charge us a 3.5% fee -- with two transactions, they would charge us 2x -- we prefer cash or check due to this." I suggested a compromise. I said I could send a check that day for half the payment and then immediately call her with a credit card number to pay the remaining amount. Brandy responded that she would be happy to accommodate. HOWEVER, she would pass on the 3.5% credit card fee to me. What?!? Since I wasn't thrilled with the idea of having to pay more than we both had originally agreed to, I wrote a personal check for the entire amount and mailed it to the company. Masonry projects can be costly. I doubt that all families have large sums of cash at their disposal. I would hope that Masonry Specialist, LLC would reconsider its policy of charging customers a fee for the convenience of using credit cards. That would be a 5-star idea.

My wife and I used Blaine to remodel our master bathroom and quest bathroom. When it came time to…read moreremodel our kitchen, we selected Fine Line Construction again. There really was not much of a decision based on our history with Blaine. We were not disappointed. Remodeling a kitchen is much different than remodeling a bathroom - many more moving parts and design decisions. The kitchen remodel highlighted the best trait about Blaine. You can discuss design alternatives throughout the process. He listens and provides the pros and cons. He will go out of this way to ensure you are happy with the result. The name Fine Line Constructions speaks for itself. Blaine's attention to detail is amazing. He will spot imperfections and fix them before you even notice the problem. And on those rare occasions when you are not 100 percent pleased with the result, Blaine will address the issue without question. I am not sure what our next remodeling project will be, but when hiring a General Contractor our first choice will be Fine Line Construction.

We first met Blaine and his crewmate, Nick, back in 2022. We can't say enough about them and what…read morethey've managed to do for us since that time; the below will be our attempt. Over the past year and a half they've masterfully completed several jobs for us, and we have them on the books for several more. They have dug out and installed french drains with sump pumps as well as repaired and painted walls, ceilings, and brickwork. All of these things were done expertly. But the most significant work they've done was to create, from the ground up, an addition to our house. We call it an addition, a sunroom, our new "hang out all day" room. A 14x16 vaulted ceiling with support beam masterpiece, the casement windows are all handmade with the finest craftsmanship and care. They spent hours, days and weeks measuring, sanding, staining, painting, glueing, nailing, and appraising. Perfection was the goal and it was accomplished over and over again. We were especially appreciative of the creativity and thoughtfulness with design and vision: Blaine especially was adept at providing the many options involved in all aspects of the job to choose from - such as tile material and color to stain shades - and then, when asked, gave his highly informed and relevant ideas and opinions. And when supplier issues and delays occurred as they always seem to these days they were undeterred and never rushed nor took shortcuts. They were always punctual, courteous, and up front with all details and accounting. Our cost overages were insignificant. We couldn't be happier with them and their work, and the end result was well beyond what we expected.

Our experience could not be more different than some fellow Yelpers…read more.. - We buy a new house and drive Hwy 50 looking for lighting, Home Depot, and fencing. We see Long Fence and stop in. They're closed...but a worker on his way to the warehouse sees us disappointed and walks over to unlock the front door...because not everybody is gone yet. - Cindy is still there. She instantly gets hold of Adam...who, amazingly, is at our house a short while later to measure and quote a fence. I'm so impressed we make a deal on the spot. - Later that night I check Yelp. Holy smoke. Even though we've made a deal (and a deposit) I call Adam and cancel. He is the picture of class. I was not. - Further research with neighbors indicates there are better deals to be had. So I call around for 3 separate quotes. A month goes by, and when the last quote is finally in it's clear we should've stuck with our original appreciation for LF's excellent service. - Adam is there for us again, despite my 'Hurry...no, forget it...OK, we need it now!'. He and Cindy stick close on scheduling despite my poor availability. Ultimately we set a super-close install date that works for my schedule. - Great team shows up right on time and impressively constructs our fence while answering my questions, consulting with me and advising tweaks to my plan...all of which I'm glad I accepted. And the clincher...our cedar fence is gorgeous! Surrounding...and also new...cedar fences are knotty and burred. Ours is smooth, perfectly linear, and (currently) pink-ish. How often is a fence just awesome to look at? I promised the HOA to paint it...but it'd be a shame to cover it up. Adam, Cindy, and the rest of the LF crew...thank you! This was the first big investment in our new house and we are lucky to have made your acquaintance!
