This time a strategically located sensor light and a second manual off/on light in our driveway for security and optional manually lighting up the driveway when we have visitors coming and going. The important and bigger issue was defining the ciruitry and circuit breakers on our new standby generator panel in the garage. All was done exceptionally well for the generator and all worked. But the house was built in 1976 and has gone through numerous electrical small and large upgrades. Unfortunately the labeling was not always done properly. This was not the responsibility of the generator installer people. This was not an issue with any other electrician in the past. This I very typical with many houses. Ask any electrician. I needed peace of mind especially re the new main consolidated panel in our garage regarding the labeling. Not an issue with upgrades but with labeling. The team took the time to carefully label all circuit breakers accurately. Well worth the 2 hours and money spent for peace of mind. They will meet your expectations; I assure you. read more

Really bummed to come back and update this review. I was so excited once we finally decided on pendant lights to complete one of last lighting layers. Well 2nd to last. My husband reached out to Jason at Blackbird to find out availability. Response was very slow and then he had to follow up twice. I finally asked him to include me on the response thinking I'll be able to provide some date options and keep it moving. Nope....he wasn't lying when he said he was having a hard time getting a date locked in. I provided dates via text and then had to follow up 3 days later asking if there was availability for the project only to be told they were very busy and it would be 4-6 weeks and then they couldn't even guarantee that. Like what?? I get that they are busy and that's great but if I'm reaching out to schedule, give me the availability and let me decide but what's the point of scheduling if you can't guarantee. It just felt super off and I am disappointed since I'd love to have all lighting done by one company. I realize installing pendants is not a big project so maybe say that. I always have new projects I'm looking to do so this wouldn't have been the last and I'm now hesitant to even refer them. Super unfortunate because they did great work before. I love being able to offer a business repeat business but I guess in this case, small projects are not treated on the same level or just the level of service has gone way down. I called because I had an issue with the outlet for my EV charger. He came out the next business day to troubleshoot and replace the outlet that was causing the error code which slowed down or stopped my car from fully charging. Our project included the installation of 14 new recessed lights, retrofit of 6 existing (to match the new), new frames on 3 existing very old hallway lights that no one makes anymore - but they look brand new now, new dimmer switches, and repairing the wiring in our attic for the heating system to keep us safe! Jason communicates (!!) and goes out of his way to answer questions and provide information requested; he is professional, engaging and honest, and pricing is reasonable. I was having ceiling fan problems. Jason sent his crew out to my house and they replaced my fan very quickly. Everything worked out well. They are very professional and friendly. Jason does it all!!!! This is the best electrition I have worked with. He has taken my house from the 1970's and brought it to the 21 century. He did a great job with a new panel, recessed lights through out the house, wired my custom bbq and even helped restore my grandmothers bar and made it look new again just like it was 30 years ago. Scheduled an appointment twice with Jason from Blackbird electric. On the first occasion he informed me that he was unable to make it and rescheduled. The rescheduled appointment he failed to show up and call to inform me he was not showing. I waited around, called and texted him with no response. I called a couple times more in the days that followed and still got no response. Can't say enough good things about Jason and Blackbird Electric. I've used Them twice. First to install electric lines to our patio Pergo. He did exceptional work and was pro and up to code. Not long after I asked him creat a new line of 240v off our power box in order to creat a car charger for the vehicle in the driveway. He was extremely kind and respectful of our home. I just experienced a small home improvement miracle at my house! I needed several light fixtures replaced, and called Blackbird to do the work based on other great Yelp reviews. Jason came and reviewed the work with me, then provided a very detailed estimate. We scheduled the work and Jason and his team arrived promptly when expected. They wore masks, protected my floors, etc. They quickly begin all of the installations and upon discovering that the ceiling fan I bought had a broken part, Jason jumped in and offered to go get a replacement at Home Depot. Not only that, but since I failed to think of light bulbs, he got all the needed light bulbs on that trip. In my experience my mistakes with the bulbs and defective fan would have caused a delay while I got the necessary items and rescheduled service. Not Blackbird - they were "on it". I'm so happy to have new fixtures and replacement of ugly old recessed fixtures in my kitchen with nice, bright new LED fixtures. Great team, and great customer service! Absolutely loved these guys! Jason was professional, on time, and was able to fit me in before the holidays. Jason was very good at communicating and coordinating with me; I felt very confident in Jason before we began the project. His workers Shawn and Braeven were awesome. They did a spectacular job installing wiring for my electric range. I am very happy with the outcome. These guys came in with all the tools and materials they needed for the job (no mickey mouse-ing it). I wanted the wiring internal, versus a long conduit on the exterior of my home. This amazing team were able to reduce my external conduit from ~35-7ft to 5-6ft. It looks so good, barely even noticable tucked in a corner under an balcony. I'm sure once it's painted it'll practically disappear. I am extremely happy I decided to go with Blackbird electric and they have solidified my confidence in them. If I ever need anything electrical done again, I know I'll be coming back to them. I'll include photos in an update. read more
