This is the first smoking restaurant I've encountered since moving to Texas eight years ago. The first time we went in, the smell of second-hand smoke as so strong, our group unanimously agreed to find food elsewhere. I tried it again after the urging on a friend who said the food was good. This time not only was the smell of second-hand smoke as bad as ever, two tables who came in after me lit up within 10 feet of where I was sitting. Blackjack's is a good place to go if you want to get a cold beer. That having been said, it never quite lives up to its potential. We've gone to Blackjacks through its many owners, remodels, and menu changes. It has the potential to be a great neighborhood bar and grill, but falls short almost every time. Service is lacking (no one greeted us for almost 15 minutes when we sat in one place) and it was only after moving to the bar that we actually were asked if we wanted anything. Servers are overwhelmed and friendliness is hit and miss, as is their food. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's just meh. Honestly, the IDEA of going to Blackjacks is almost always better than the reality. I'm always vaguely disappointed when I go and always wonder if it's worth considering coming back. Sunday's food special is a $8.00 steak (with 1 side item). Very tasty. I had mine with mashed potatoes.

Chicken fried chicken was legit. Mixed vegetables (broccoli and carrots) legit. Folks are friendly and talkative. Nice atmosphere, needs a better liquor and beer selection. I'd definitely come back here a time or three. read more

Me and kids went here for lunch today. Our waitress Taylor was GREAT! She sat us up on the PS 4 so we could play Madden. They also have free wifi so my daughter was happy. They have a Sunday special Steak and one side for $9 it was great. The kids had the kid meals one had grilled cheese and fried okra which she enjoyed. My son had his usual chicken tenders and fries... He devoured them. They have a nice patio with TVs. The only negative was the smokers. Smoking is allowed in Katy . We sat near the patio to escape it . They also have giant genga and very reasonable prices. read more

We went right after they opened on a Saturday. Not a lot of people - we got great service and enjoyed the food. I had a fajita wrap and my daughter had soft tacos. I would like to go back during soccer season and what a game with the fans. There is smoking allowed in here and although they have a non smoking section everyone knows its a full smoking restaurant. read more

Been going to Black Jacks since they opened their doors way back when. The owner Debra was fabulous and even though the food wasn't GREAT, it wasn't horrible. Now with NEW OWNERS, they have changed the interior completely. Almost all group tables, and the food was CRAP. We have tried it 3 times now and I guess we won't be going back anymore. read more

I've never been to this place but the server/bartender Heather was perfect. Beautiful girl and extremely friendly. I was on the patio and had no idea she was the only one inside doing it all. I've been a happy customer at Blackjack's for years. The food is outstanding, be sure to try the green beans at the very least. The country fried steak and chicken is a cure for anything that may be ailing you. The crawfish are very tasty and can be ordered to taste (spice level.) The people I've met there over the years are some of the friendliest salt of the earth folk that I have ever met. Be sure to check it out if you're ever near highway 6 and West Little York. They are west of that intersection on West Little York. By the way, no more $.50 wings.........times and prices change, but the wings stay the same!!!! read more

Zero stars. On Aug. 7 2015 while the Owner was on vacation i went in for drinks. Bought 3 Glen Levitt on the rocks and for 2 guests, two beers-- One bottled beer and one large draft. Server was Julie time 14:36 A.M. Check#73. When i got home and noted the charge was for $140.73! Went back the next AM to tell the Owner but had to speak with the day mgr. gave Her a copy of the ticket with a note to the Owner about what happened. Went back a few days and no Owner still. This time the day mgr. said it's all on video trying to intimidate me i suppose. To me so much the better it's on video. I wonder if the staff is stealing from the Customers how much are They stealing from the Owner? Can't blame the blonde day mgr., She has to work with the night staff. Won't be long before He's got to sell the place then maybe i'll go back in there, until then They are fired! These are the only drinks i authorized. Hope the Owner will clean house for His own well being. Left my contact phone and was assured the Owner would call me but no call. Either He doesn't care or never got the note. The next AM i ordered the Chicken fried Chicken which was luke warm when served and a brownie which was stale! Let me preface this by saying I HATE cigarette smoke and am no fan of sports bars and the typical bar activity like karaoke. But Blackjack's is worth all aggravation. The servers are fantastic, the owner diligent, and most food is prepared fresh. Great place to go get your broccoli-and-carrot fix out of the way before enjoying amazing burgers, quesadillas, etc. The fried mushrooms are worth every calorie -- they slice and bread them there. Homemade chicken/tortilla soup. Nice outdoor section if the weather's cool. read more

We just stopped by to waste a bit of time while waiting for our event to start. We sat at the bar had a couple of nice drinks and the appetizers were awesome. We would be back in a flash, but they allow smoking and in just the short time we were there our clothes and hair stunk of it. So if smoking inside doesn't bother you, then for sure try their fried pickles! read more

went here for lunch with coworkers on a friday. we were seated promptly and got our menus. we placed our orders within 5-10 mins and waited for our food. that's when our visit took a turn for the worse. we had about 7 people in our group. we placed our orders and it came out 2-3 entrees at a time. the waiter's excuse was we have a small grille/stove and we can only cook so many entrees at a time. the plus was each entree was served hot, so at least we didnt wait 30 mins for all our food. what does this place do when/if they get busy for a game or happy hour? people need their food in a somewhat timely fashion. i ordered the grilled chicken wrap buffalo style. the chicken was a little overseasoned, and the wrap was meh. the fries were ok. overall, this place needs better service. also the empty tables on a friday lunchtime should have been obvious. read more

This place is horrendous! If you want low quality service and cheap food it's not bad.. the food is terrible straight out of the freezer. The bartenders are friendly, but very very slow!! There's flies everywhere and it smells like throw up! It's not kid friendly at all. It's so smoky I would not recommend this place unless your with a few guys who want cheap drinks. My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and were looking for a place to grab a quick meal. We were pleasantly surprised by the vast menu options. We shared the jalapeno poker chips and a blackjack burger. Both were amazing. We specifically requested the burger medium rare and it was shockingly cooked perfectly. It's hard to find that quality in a bar and grill type place. The prices are great also for both the food and drinks. Fast forward 2 weeks we wanted to have drinks while watching a football game so we stopped in. Immediately the staff asked which game we were looking for and made sure we had a good seat with a good view of the game we wanted to see. We ordered the sampler appetizer platter and again were not disappointed. I loved the chicken wings and fried mushrooms and my boyfriend said the onion rings were very good too. I am so happy to have found this place, great food, great service, great price, in a laid back confortable atmosphere. We have since even called in orders to pick up and that was painless and fast. Nothing bad to say about Blackjack Bar and Grill. We will be repeat customers. read more

We came in with a group of family for mothers and one of the worse meals I think I have ever had. The ran out of mash potatoes French fries and chicken fried steak sandwiches. Once the food finally came out had to send most of it back at least once to be fixed and then most food came out already ice cold. The food was delicious and the service was great. There were a few things, however, that kept me from giving them the full 5 stars. First, their tea is Gold Peak, not fresh brewed. To me, it has a metallic aftertaste, so I always prefer fresh brewed. I had to put extra sweetener to help mask the taste. Next time I'll just drink water. Second, their fried mushrooms, fried pickles, and onions rings had a spicy kick to them. Personally, I don't like a lot of heat so I would be leery of ordering them again, although they were delicious. I think they may have been fried in the same oil as some fried jalapenos. I drank a lot of tea to help drown the burn. Lastly, the online menu and the menu at the restaurant don't match, so do not go by their online menu. According to the online menu you get 2 sides with most of the meals, but on the restaurant menu you only get one. Overall, it was a great experience, and the few cons will not prevent me from going back. read more
