This has been on my list for awhile - been trying to get everyone together so we could order the giant brunch board. That's still pending...so several of us stopped by today for brunch. And it did not disappoint. The Bloody Mary's were perfect, snd we started with the watermelon salad and avocado citrus mix appetizers - very refreshing. We had a mix of breakfast and lunch items - all delicious. Waitstaff was very attentive and personable. Because of our lovely humid weather, we sat inside, but patio would be nice also - it's covered and they have fans. I heard great things about this place on social media and decided to try it for a meetup with my girlfriends. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. When we arrived and gave our name for our reservation, we were seated in an area that was visibly dirty -- the seats had not been cleaned. We requested to move to another table, which they accommodated without issue. Our waitress was pleasant and gave good drink recommendations. However the drinks were not strong at all -- and if a drink isn't strong, what's the point? The drink was good just not enough alcohol. The food was a different story. I originally wanted the brisket tacos but was told they were out of brisket, so I had to settle for something else that somewhat fit my taste. My potatoes were essentially scraps -- hard and inedible. My pancake was dry, cold, and arrived with no butter. It was just not a good pancake. The eggs were fine -- eggs are eggs. My friends didn't fare much better. One ordered the steak bites and rice pilaf and said her food was too sweet but the steak was tender. The other got the grilled chicken sandwhich and felt the pesto was overwhelming -- way too much of it. We also ordered deviled eggs, which were completely overpowered by a heavy-handed spicy mustard. If you know mustard, you know it takes over everything -- and it did. The bacon and Tabasco flavors were completely lost. When I flagged my potatoes to the food runner, they offered to bring more -- but why would I want more of something that should never have been served in the first place? I declined. This was our first and last visit to Daily Gather. Nothing about the experience was spectacular or special enough to bring us back. read more

We brought our friends here to celebrate their anniversary, and our waitress was attentive, kind, and made the experience even better. Or you can see if you can get lucky and find the few street parking spots in front of some of the businesses. Service- was sweet with Madison. She gave service with a smile despite being busy. She gave us insight about the menu. We enjoyed sitting outside on the covered patio with a cool breeze. I belive a manager was circling outside to assist and check on guests which was good to see. She stopped by our table but didn't introduce herself. Food- I ordered the BLT with avocado and for my side I subbed for a cesar gem salad with anchovy for a $2 upcharge. We chose this place partly because of the name but also because it offered an outdoor patio, was located where we would have plenty of parking, and they had brunch. The patio seating was wonderful! To start, it was a beautiful Saturday so we sat outside. The waiter was prompt and very friendly. The food came out pretty quickly and we enjoyed everything. Deviled eggs (3/5) - the filling was tasty but the egg white was hard and slightly rubbery (overcooked) Citrus avocado (3/5) - it was ok, the burrata was fresh and the combination of ingredients was different (the avocado was not fully ripe) Garden omelette (4/5) - the omelette was delicious, well made and not overstuffed; the side of potatoes were a bit tough and just didn't fit in with the look of the omelette Biscuits and gravy (2.9/ 5) - the biscuits were very dense and somewhat tough to enjoy; they looked like they'd be flaky but were not; came with those same potatoes I am not against trying them again, I think it just wasn't our day. They gave us complimentary mimosas while we waited, so it was water under the bridge. This place is clean & spacious. Decided to meet an old coworker friend in City Centre to catch up. We ate outside, prime real estate for people watching as you dine. Armon was our waiter and frankly he wasn't on it. I don't know if he had a little chip on his shoulder that day or if it's normal behavior. Barring that, we were also disappointed in the food. I hate when I look at a menu and nothing sticks out. I ended up ordering the steak salad, it's not winning any awards but it was filling. My companion ordered a shrimp noodle dish and she felt her shrimp were well overcooked and rubbery. The citrus creme brûlée caught both of our eyes so we shared it. Could have been the highlight of the meal as it had a really good taste. Only issue was the caramelized top was soft and didn't have the signature hardened texture we all love. They have lunch specials (appetizer and entree) at $25, although quite a few of the entree on the lunch special menu had up charge. I ordered the Elote Cornbread starter, and a Steak & Blue Cheese Salad. The Elote Cornbread was interesting... soft finger shaped cornbread cakes topped with crumbles cotija. It had a nice texture, and the expected lime tanginess, but totally lacked any of the chili spice of a typical Elote. The Steak & Blue Cheese Salad (which has a hefty +$6 upcharge on the special lunch menu) was unremarkable. The started skirt steak was just chopped up bits of skirt steak -- for the price, I was expecting nice juicy slices of skirt steak. My brother had the Harvest Chicken with Pulled Chicken which he said was just ok as well. My Mom ordered the Steak & Egg Bowl which she requested with light salt, and it came out too salty. However, the server did graciously have it remade with no salt and garlic herb au jus on the side. I tried some of the remade bowl. The beef tenderloin cubes were tender and juicy. You'll always win me over with customer service. Any who.... Everything was a 10/10! Cornbread - they serve it in strips which make it even easier to share. Coconut tuna aguachille - light and refreshing. It looks like the will have a creamy flavor but it doesn't. It has a lemon limeish taste and is delicious. Kids burger - WIN! Short rib risotto - the short rib is very tender and flavorful, but when you pair it with the mushroom risotto Roasted chicken is marinated really well. I absolutely love this place! I really do. And I have been here many times. However the last two or three times I have tried to come at around 8-9 and they're "closed or closing". Hours show open until 10 pm so I'm not sure why. The first two times I came and it was around 8:30-45 and I was told "hey we're closing because we had an event" or something to that tune. Didn't look like anything was going on and people were sitting eating but fine whatever (I drive from the woodlands to come here by the way). The third time I decided to call and this time it was maybe 8:20, and I asked hey what time does the kitchen close and I was told "actually, we're closing the kitchen now". Honestly writing this I am a tad conflicted. I enjoyed my latte along with my service. However the shrimp and grits were lacking much seasoning at all. I would have added a lot more. The latte was tasty though with plenty of flavor options. The drink menu was likely the best part of the experience. Was looking for a central location for some coworkers to meet up for dinner and city centre seemed the best locale. Also looking to find a restaurant that covered all the dietary needs of the group and so glad I found this place. Last time we went out we went to North Italia and loved it, but didn't want to go to the same place again. Also didn't want to do a chain restaurant as well to fill the needs of a vegetarian. Daily Gather has an abundance of dishes for dietary needs. Parking - they have street and garage, but some places are pay and some of the garages are 80% reserved so even though there is a good amount of parking it still may take some time finding it. Food Apps Oysters - you can choose gulf or east coast, we chose gulf and they were so clean/refreshing, went with 6 between 2 and wish we had gotten more. Citrus Avocado very refreshing, personally not a fan of grapefruit and i accidentally grabbed one in a bite...very bitter...but the dish as a whole was very good. Poblano Guacamole - good, but really couldn't taste the poblano part of it. Entrees Tomato basil soup - very good and the right consistency, some places I have seen lean too far on the tomato side making it taste like a sauce. Bread - buttery/fluffy and warm, very good. Burgers - ordered by 2 ppl, but the kitchen came back and said they had ran out Snapper - didn't try, but friend said he really enjoyed it Salmon - didn't try, but friend said he really enjoyed it, to me it looked like he may have walked away hungry still Short Rib on mushroom risotto - this dish was fabulous, meat was cooked very well and tender...let some other try it and you can see the look in their faces as they wished they ordered this dish as well. I usually don't write reviews after I just ate at the location, but I was ready for this one once I got home. I had high expectations for this spot based on reviews but it was just okay. While the service was good the food was just passable. Our server Asia was nice but she seemed tired and overworked. I started off with some appetizers and ordered their deviled eggs. I thought it tasted pretty bad. The yolk had no flavor except for mustard. It was pungent, bitter & had a gassy taste to it. I can't really explain it, just know it wasn't good. There was no mayo/relish to balance out the sharpness in the mustard. I'm fine with just mustard but at least do Dijon instead. I couldn't even finish the last two eggs and told them to toss it out. My friend brisket sandwich was fine, the meat was pretty tendered but needed salt. The au jus was plain, simple with no excitement just sweet. The fries were hot and crispy. I ordered a seared salmon with added crab sub rice for green beans. The salmon was cooked to my liking which is medium rare to medium. The fish could've been more seared to give it more coloring and a flavorful crust. The green beans were fine but lacked seasoning. And one of my pet peeves when it comes to cooking is when they don't trim the ends of the green beans. The crab tasted fine but for an extra 9 bucks, they gave me like 2 small lumps of crab, definitely not worth it. And it was just the basic blue crab. At the end I wanted to try their dessert and got the crème brûlée. The custard was decent and not overly sweet. But who the heck adds grapefruits/oranges on top of the brûlée? Not I. Raspberry/blueberries/strawberries would've made more sense. I'm actually fine with the oranges but grapefruit was odd because it's bitter. Sweet and Bitter doesn't really go together (only sometimes). I get being a chef that you want to perfect your art and having creativity but that ain't it. Overall my experience was mediocre. The service was good and the ambiance is nice for a first date. I did like that they had a pack of cards for you to kill some time while you're waiting on your food. I think the questions on the flash card is like a good ice breaker for a first date. So kudos to them for that. I made a reservation for my mom's birthday. We arrived on schedule for a 1 PM brunch. When we arrived, we were told that there would be a wait time, as no tables were available. As I scanned through the restaurant, it was indeed a busy Sunday with no tables available. This defeats the purpose of having a reservation if you have to wait for a table despite having a reservation. I saw another group of 4 people who entered after us, without our reservation, promptly escorted to a table. This struck me as odd and unfair. As a few minutes ago, I had been told there were no tables available, and this new party with no reservation was just escorted to a table. I went over to ask the hostess why were they seated before us? She explained that they had requested outdoor seating and outdoor tables were available so that's why they were seated ahead of us. We waited another 5 to 10 minutes before we were escorted to our table As the hostess was walking us to the table, I saw not 1, not 2, but 3 empty tables. I was absolutely infuriated that they had made us wait unnecessarily with 3 tables were available When I called out the disconnect, she explained to me that because they have other earlier reservations, that they were prioritizing those individuals who had not arrived and were running late. I could not comprehend why they were prioritizing no-show diners over a present diner with a scheduled reservation. They made us wait, unnecessarily, they broke the basic expectation of certainty of having a table, and they inconvenienced us by following some misguided operations protocol, instead of diner experience. It is backwards logic to give priority to a no-show, than a diner with a reservation, who is physically present and celebrating a birthday. Because they botched this simple reservation process, it really set off the mood in a negative way because they negatively handled an existing reservation. The ambience was loud between many diners, talking and mood music. It's the kind of place where you can converse at the table, but there's so much competing background noise. I ordered a turkey club sandwich. The french fries were undercooked. The ciabatta bread wasn't really toasted. Without much condiment, the sandwich was also dry. House coffee was basic. It's honestly surprising so many people award this place 4 stars are 5 stars when it's mediocre. As all things, each person will have to decide for themselves if the food is worth $20-$30 per entrée. Service sub par my server was Aaliyah and I'm not sure if she was having an off day however, I always enjoy my food. The service was a negative experience because she was only catering towards Anglo's instead of giving top tier service to all customers. I waited patiently for her to acknowledge us or even check on us and she did not. I couldn't order my drink and I truly hope things get better read more
