We took our car in because the a/c would get warm when the car was idling. We were told we needed a new radiator. The radiator was replaced and the next day when driving US 1 north from Lee county the plastic covering under my car came loose and started dragging the pavement. (It was not a comfortable position to be in on the side of US 1 with traffic traveling at 70-75 mph.) I had to call AAA to get the car towed to Black's. They didn't put back all the clamps and screws after replacing my radiator. They replaced the missing clamps....so we thought. My husband checked under the hood and all the plastic clamps were gone from the plastic covering under the hood. They didn't put those back either. He got underneath our car and we still have screws missing. He returned the car to Black's on Saturday and showed them the issues. They are supposed to order more screws and clamps to fix it. Once that has been done we won't go back. read more

Do NOT bring your car to this location unless you want a new paint job including yellow scratches all along your car. Witnessed an employee pull a customer's vehicle into the last bay without removing the yellow chain and proceeded to scrape the entirety of the car. Completely unacceptable & zero respect for customers or their vehicles. Absolutely a fireable offense. Not shocking to see guys joking around at a shop but to screw up someone's property to that extent in broad daylight, because you're too lazy to get out and unhook a chain, I was shocked. read more

Stay Away. Tried to get my tire plugged and they said it coulnt and I needed a new tire. Then told me I needed to replace all 4 tires since it wouldn't pass Inpection. I got 2 other opinions, the tire can be plugged! and the other 3 tires all look good and will pass Inspectipn. Beyond messed up trying to take advantage of people. read more

The service personnel are knowledgable and experienced. I go annually for a state inspection and regularly for an oil change. In 2025 with owning a nine year old vehicle two items were replaced that were costly. They explained both in detail and within 2 hours the work was completed. I was very satisfied. We've taken our Lexus here twice and both times we had to take the car back as the repair failed within a month or two. It seems like they use cheap, poor quality parts. They also close before their advertised hours leaving us without a car for the weekend. I gave them a 2 instead of 1 since they fixed their poor quality work. When I first moved here, I came to blacks tire for an oil change. An oil change then became 2 tire replacements and then an inspection. I trusted them with my cars needs even though I thought my tires were ok. Then I went to the DMV. I informed Blacks tire I was new to the area, but still they suggested an inspection. The DMV said I didn't need one until the following year. He told my husband the same thing. So they got roughly $65 from us for two inspections we didn't need. I called blacks tire after and I told them I thought it wasn't right what they did. He told me to go in there and he will refund us. I went in there and after an hour of them trying to get in touch with corporate he told me to leave and said he will handle it and if anything he will call me back. He didn't. I remembered a week later and called again. I went in again for over 30 minutes and the same thing happened. Now he offered me 2 free oil changes in exchange for the refunded amount. I agreed. Now my husband got his oil changed today and they said the coupon was only valid for one oil change and to top it off they gave him about 3.5k mile oil change and said that a standard oil change was $65 for an 11 year old ford fiesta. Took my vehicle in for a check engine light issue and did let them know the radiator was leaking as well. Instead of them running the diagnostic to see what's actually wrong with the vehicle they just replaced the radiator and $800 later never actually determined the cause of the check engine light I drive off the lot and 20 min later check engine light comes right back on. Was so pissed and they didn't offer me anything else in return their only response was "you said the radiator was leaking" absolutely pitiful will never return there. All to make a quick buck in a radiator fix. read more

My car needed a simple oil change so I called a week in advance to see if I needed a scheduled appointment. I was told that no on Saturday it's handled as 1st come, 1st serve. I showed up right after they opened, and was told I would need to schedule for later in the week and that I was wrong, they do not handle as 1st come, 1st serve. I have no recourse since I don't remember who I spoke with the first time, but I'm very dissatisfied with the service advisors telling me completely opposite information. Had I know I needed an appointment, I could have easily booked one, but now I will choose another vendor. read more

I called in the day before and scheduled a 9:00 AM appointment to have my vehicle inspected. Arrive there at five minutes till nine and an hour and a half later nothing was done so I had to leave without getting my inspection. And I have been coming to this location with all of my vehicles since Blacks Tire opened and apparently that doesn't mean anything anymore there. After several good experiences, one observation and a poor experience to add. Balancing tires used to be included in a tire purchase, now, it's about $50 per balance. Apparently, there is no lifetime balancing package to make that affordable, either. It was above-and-beyond the competition, but no longer. Maybe they were doing it as good customer service for me, I do not know. I recently had a flat which required tire replacement and for the first time encountered indifference to the customer here; at first they told me the tire was more than 3 years old and there was no tire warranty. Then they said 14 days before 3 years so I got a $25 credit. Finally, I came back to the shop on another day and showed the paperwork and the tire was barely 17 months old so I got a $75 credit. They already had the tire paperwork in their computer system because I bought from them, but no one checked, they just priced at max! When I came back for tire replacement at the time they specified (they had to order it), it had not arrived; No one called me- so I wasted time from work. And frankly, they didn't seem to care. In the end, although they never apologized, they hussled to accomodate me when I came back a third time and changed the tire during lunch break. Nothing extra to make up for the previous, but I did get the proper tire credit. The whole experience, though, causes me to downgrade from a previous five to three stars now; this will cause me to think twice before going back for new tires, now I'll look around first. read more

I really like this shop. My wife and I have both had work done on our cars here. They are courteous, fast, and reasonably priced. It's a small garage with five or six bays, and I see the same faces working there every time I come in. Best of all, they don't oversell, and their advice has always seemed reasonable. The waiting area is nothing fancy, but I'm usually in and out so that doesn't matter to me.There is a McDonald's next door if one really needed coffee, and several other semi-fine dining establishments within easy walking distance. They replaced my rear brakes recently for about a third of the cost the dealer quoted. The new brakes sound great. The rattle the dealer said the brake job would probably take care of still rattles. read more

Not trusting the dealer (like EVER), I drove directly to Black's in Apex to get a price. Nice price (after comparing) so I made an appointment to do the work based on their reviews. We had the whole family coming in last month from all over. It's rare that we get everyone together in one place. My parents came in from SC and they picked up a bolt a few miles from our house. Their truck is only 4 months old so they have a dashboard alert that showed the tire slowly losing pressure. Watching a tire slowly go flat on your dashboard is very distressing for Seniors....or anyone 5 hours from home. They don't like to drive at night so we had to get the tire fixed and get them to the hotel before dark. The alternative was having it towed into a shop and fixed the next morning. I had always got great service from Black's Tire so I knew to take them there. We rolled in about 15 minutes before closing and they were so helpful and kind! The same, "Hey, no problem, we'll take care of you" attitude that I have come to expect from Black's. They fixed the tire....they could have sold us a new one, but didn't take advantage of the obviously stressful situation.
