I purchased a headlight for my truck and took it to Blacks Tire to have it installed. They were wonderful. They do a great job and I appreciate them. That's why I do take my stuff to them, but then I get ready to pay and to install the headlight that I purchased and brought to them I was charged $97 and there was a supply fee not real sure what the supply item they needed was. I understand it took them 20minutes to install it but $97 seems to be a bit too much like I said I've always enjoyed Blacks. They have always been good to me, but this one seemed a little steep or shady. read more

I got an oil change here. It was advertised at $113. It ended up costing $145. When I asked what caused the discrepancy, the answer was "shop fees and taxes." Shop fees need to be included in the advertised price! I wish I were a more confrontational person, because I should have refused to pay. This is absolutely false advertisement. $145 is an insanely high price for an oil change, even if it does include the engine conditioner and tire rotation. read more

Update - After seeing the review I got a response from Cal at Black's Tire. He agreed to refund half of what they charged me for the new tire they put on. This shows that they care what is posted on Yelp and elsewhere about them. There's still no excuse for the way we were treated and taken advantage of by their Conway, SC branch but they get kudos for trying to make the monetary affront correct. Therefore I'll give them an extra 2 stars. I brought my partner's RAV 4 in to Black's on 544 in Conway, SC to repair a flat. The tires were originally bought at Black's 1.5 years ago and were all in great condition. My partner had paid extra for a warranty when she bought the original tires, which were Hancoock. I sat in the waiting room for 3 hours. After 3 hours I finally asked if the car was done. They had no clue who I was nor that I had been sitting there. They told me the price and I was flabbergasted....almost 200.00. I asked wth is this. They said they called my partner and told them it needed a new tire, the old one couldn't be repaired. Personally I think that was a BS story. Then when my partner told them about a warranty they made an excuse that their employee was selling warranties and pocketing the money and that they fired him. Not my problem - it was their employee. On top of that - they did not install a matching Hancoock tire but rather a Kelly tire of lower value. Black's? Never again. Businesses like that should be investigated. I am trying to talk my partner into filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

They were able to diagnose and fix my vehicle quickly and reasonably priced, however the service from Billy was extremely rude and condescending. He was irritable and acted like I was crazy when I told him the details of the issue, but when I spoke with James about details on the repair, he was very easy to work with and accommodating, and confirmed the issues that I described. Upon checkout, I stood there in front of him as he ignored me until he finished whatever he was working on without a simple "I'll be with you in a moment". The Little River location on Sea Mountain Hwy is my ideal of a diamond in the rough, as a manager/owner. Superb facility, orderly shop, busy crew. I walked with a single tire in need of replacement due irreparable damage. At my local Goodyear store, consistently a 10-minute visit. After an hour of waiting, a foreman came out and asked why I was in the waiting room. He seemed surprised, accepted my offer to take him into the shop; we found my damaged tire leaning up against a post, he immediately presented it to a technician at the tire mounting machine. I set my internal alarm for five minutes, waited ten to be safe, and went to the cashier to pay. No good. Lost in the shuffle again. I left for lunch amidst the apologies of the cashier, whose position overlooks the waiting area; I had been the only one in the large room for awhile. After lunch, I came back and asked if the tire was mounted. "Which one is that?" Again, I led employees into the shop, looked over several candidates and found mine, complete but sans label, tag, folder, etc. Finally, almost two and a half hours into the program, I had my tire. Rolling it myself to the waiting car. Simple shop organization fixes all of this: enter incoming customers into a lineup and track time to completion. Then, review completions are regular intervals. Easy peasy. Stress to customer service personnel that they are the organizations' quarterbacks: they need to moniter and tend the client pool like bread in the overn, vegetables in the garden. Constant vigilance. No client of any service should fall through the cracks like this. Black's, you are supposedly better than this. Get on it. read more

Dave helped me over the phone and actually had the tire we needed in stock. Dropped of our tire and dos a little shopping. Dave called us when the tire was ready. lI went to Myrtle Beach on vacation and got a flat in the middle of my trip on a Friday night. The next day i called a different tire service and said they were full for Saturday morning but referred me to Blacks Tire. They were literally the kindest most accommodating mechanics service i've ever encountered. They had free coffee, wifi, and water. The woman who worked the front desk, Dannetta, was ridiculously kind and helpful and gave me such a great rate! I'm honestly considering driving to the beach every time i need my car worked on because the service i received here was so impeccable. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. I even witnessed them telling a woman they were full for the rest of the day, and when she explained they needed to catch a flight and had 5 kids with her, and they made the time to help her. The review I posted on 10/10/17 needs to be amended. Blacks Tire called me to explain all they had done to help in the replacement of my defective tires. It turns out they had given me ample credit for the replacement new tires that were actually a much better tire.
