Garbage Company. NO customer service and since they are considered the only game in town feel like they can lie, ignore you and basically make up facts until you are so frazzled that they can call you irrational. Calls me ON THE DAY OF APRIL READING to tell me that their "tech" cannot find my meter easily and when he finally does, he cannot easily read the meter so I need to trim my shrubs or he "will not be doing my May reading". I am literally fresh home from spinal surgery and using a walker and a cane but I worry I will forget to check later so I trudge out there and find that "someone" has trampled the largest branch on said tree and snapped it off of a 9Ft evergreen. It looks like it has been twisted, spun and pushed and pulled until it broke free from its socket. What it has done though is given a perfectly clear view of the meter and the 4 numbers the tech needs to read.
As well, each house in our neighborhood has a clear metallic sign located above each meter that basically says "Meter here". How he couldn't understand that is beyond me. I also attempt to read meter without using the new "peekaboo" feature created by their tech and am able to get my face directly in front of it with no issue. I am 200 lbs 5'8 and using A WALKER and I can read the meter so how any normal man couldn't do it without requiring an arborist is beyond me.
I call to complain and demand someone come out and see this. I am told I will get a call back later that day. I do not. I call that evening. Same rep expresses surprise I haven't heard back. I call back the next morning and reach the same person. Same feigned surprise. Same lack of care. Promises a call back the same day. Nothing. Call the next day. Am told that someone came by house while they were working on adjacent house but no one was home. Amazing as I am on house rest and cannot leave my home. Their statement is that their guy did not touch the tree. I ask about the accessibility to the meter BEFORE the tree was massacred. No one thought to check. Demand another call back. Nothing. Call that evening and say if I don't get a call back the next morning, my attorney is getting my next call. Now I have to drag the branch to property line so my guys will be able to mow as they do not pick up branches. Not supposed to lift more than 8 lbs but let me handle this since Gas company cannot be bothered to even knock on my door much less clean up their messes. Next morning, I finally get a call claiming the same garbage. "we didn't do it". "we didn't demand anything". Ask to speak to a manager and the "owner" Jimmy gets on the phone claiming to have listened to the whole story while proceeding to get it completely wrong. Jimmy claims I got a letter about growth which I should have listened to. I didn't get a letter. I got a call and it was the day of the meter reading so unless psychic, I couldn't have cut branches in advance. Claims his hires would never have done any of these things and his men have been with him forever. Then why was his first complaint that he couldn't find meter? Worked for years, you would think they would know how to find a meter and that the BIG YELLOW SIGN WITH RED ARROWS SAYING: METER HERE is a small clue. Hangs up on me rather than admit that his lazy hire couldn't take the time to look for the meter indicator and when he couldn't read it without having to bend over, he grabbed and twisted and yanked the offending branch until it snapped off. Now he has a nice clear view of the meter box and I have a decade's old evergreen that will die.
