I don't even know how this place has 3 stars. The owner is SO rude and the place is dirty and unkept. She doesn't even man the front desk and stays hidden behind closed doors until you walk in and the bell rings. She screams "HELLO HELLO" from the back room. Not even a "welcome! Thank you for coming to my store. How can I help you?" And then she follows you around the store LIKE A HAWK. She doesn't ask about your vision or what your wants/needs are but only cares about your budget and treats you like you're going to steal something. BRIDES STEER CLEAR of this place! I don't know how it's still operating- it was so dead and the place and selection is so small! Blagas was the best place ever! I originally went there to please my mother and grandmother. They both got their wedding dresses from. I figured I could go there for my first place to see what type of dresses I wanted! Third one I tried on was the one I got! Not only that, she changed it from a size 10 to a 12 and a tank top to a quarter sleeve of my dreams! Went in, in October for my February wedding and my dress was finished by my wedding! Blagas was so awesome! I got a Maggie Sattoro dress on clearance. The size was way too big for me, but Blaga assured me she could work her magic on my dress. I came back for three fittings to get it to size. For one fitting in particular I had my 3 year old with me. I was in my dress and getting pinned for alterations when I heard " mommy I have to go potty". Before I could move Blaga was on it. She wisked her back to the bathroom and assisted her for an accident free afternoon! So meaningful to me as a mother! She had the dress ready in time for me to pick up. It was so perfect and beautiful. The compliments I got seemed endless. I truly felt like a princess! Thank you! read more

Shop is on the small side, but they had a lot of wedding dresses that I liked. They carry a great designer, Maggie Sottero. The older woman who helps with the dresses is hilarious and cute, but very stern. Don't call something white if it's ivory! Ha ha. I went on a Saturday and made an appointment and I had both employees to myself. I think that's the only way to do it at Blaga's because there pretty much one dressing room and one three-way mirror. I did have both the older and younger employee's attention the whole time, which was nice. They weren't pushy, and they were honest. Next to the bride, I had the best dress on hands down!!! Blaga was great with helping me to find the right dress for my body shape and the right color for me! I am so happy I went there for my Mother of the Groom dress. I will be going back there when my next son gets married too. Very happy with the personal attention I got every time I went in there. Can they be a bit rude? Yes. It is small and stuffy? Yes, BUT if your looking for a designer gown (with a decent price tag) then come here! I purchased my gown here, and at first was highly un-happy with their customer service! BUT.. they ended up being very accommodating, and rather friendly in the end. I even passed out (yes in my gown) in the middle of a fitting, and they were on top of it!!! They do wonderful alterations (for a good price also), have a LARGE selection of Maggie Sottero gowns, and have a fair price range! The only issue I had was when I initially ordered my dress. I had measured in an 8, I begged (PLEADED) to order a 4, saying I'd settle for a 6 even (after losing some weight) they wouldn't allow me to. I ended up losing a total of 70 lbs. by the wedding, and the dress didn't fit at all. Didnt get it altered (they said I could just tie it tighter). ALL NIGHT had to pull my dress up, and had numerous nip slips! lol read more

Going to this store was a horrible first experience trying on wedding dresses. We went to this store so my friend, A BRIDE, could find the wedding dress of her dreams. My friend brought a picture of a dress she liked, and was told by the owner that she would never find that dress because it was three years old and...she laughed at her. Then, the owner said no pictures. I had my phone out and she was giving me the death stare like I was trying to take a picture. Ok, calm down. Then, we were told that they don't use clips to keep the dresses on (my friend is small) so we all had to take turns holding up the dresses so they would fit. We then were looking at a section of dresses along the wall, a large section, and we were told those dresses were discontinued and we would not be able to get those. We were told to not even look at them. If all of this is not enough, she told her she was only allowed to try on five dresses and she reached her limit. She was not even allowed to try on the one she liked again. THEN, she has the audacity to tell us to come back when we were ready to buy it. We were made to feel uncomfortable and rushed. If you cannot fit us in, tell us. It's not like my friend had some cheapo budget either. These other reviews say this woman is stern but she is downright rude. Trying on dresses is supposed to be part of a magical day, to get the dress of your dreams, not a day spent deflecting attitude. I would like to say that I really do not enjoy writing a bad review about a small business and tend to frequent them when I can, but if I can put in my two cents in so a bride can choose a place to shop where she can feel beautiful and special so be it. Did not enjoy my time here at all. I entered and was greeted promptly by a voice - the older woman mentioned in other reviews came out from the back. No smile, no nothing. I told her I was here to look at Bridal dresses, she then asked when my wedding is. She asked if I had a particular style in mind and budget. I excitedly declared "mermaid" and gave her my ideal budget and explained how I could be $500 over that budget if I found the right dress. it went downhill from there. She eyed me up and down obviously with a different dress shape opinion in mind. Yes, I'm a bit on the curvy side but I know my body and what I can rock. She directs me to the right side of the store (if viewing from front door) and half assedly points out a random dress not even explaining anything about it, randomly points out a couple more then proceeds to take a step back. Obviously she had no interest in assisting me, which is fine. I ask her politely if I can look at the entire wall of dresses myself and she allows. The whole time I'm going down the line of dresses she's just staring at me, I could feel her eyes laser cutting thru my head. A couple times I turn to her and make small talk, asking about opinions and whatnot...all i got was nothing more than a word or two. Her favorite word is "sure". Even after thanking her (idk what for!) she replied that. Wow. I couldn't get out of there fast enough! I'm not sure what her problem is but really if you don't enjoy selling dresses or only want to sell to a specific clientele (hate to pull this card but I am as ASIAN as they come), then state so or lock your doors and screen people or something! Don't waste my time and your time with that stank ass attitude! The dresses are not organized by any means...she states so herself. All sizes and styles are mixed in so for her to not want to help me find a dress AND have unorganized inventory - booooooo. I'm literally writing this review as I sit out right in front of her store. I was shopping for Mother of the bride dresses. There was a very nice selection here, in many price ranges too. The only thing I did not like one bit was how the owner just walked into my dressing room while I was getting changed to bring in more dresses. Yeah, I'm very conservative. I get wildly uncomfortable when strangers are in the same room with me when I'm only wearing underwear, what can I say. I mean, she wasn't weird about it or anything, it was just me that was weird about it, lol. But, setting that aside, she probably had the biggest selection of quality dresses in my price range (under $400) than any other bridal shop I went to. I know I tried on the most there. read more

Aweful! She went from yuck to yuckier in ten mins!! I brought in a dress and she said put it on. She pined it but said an outlandish amt so i said sorry i cant afford that. She ripped the pins out and said never come back & was so aggressive my fiance & i said holy cow !! We decided to let her do it only becuz we needed a rush job, she didnt hav me put the dress back on to properly alter it & made it too small! She guarenteed me for the orignal amt the dress wud fit perfect- not a chance. She charged me an extra $40 for a press & pads. Let's just start by saying I have never took the time to get on the internet to write a review before! However, my best friend and I both felt the need to do so based on our experience this evening. The moment we walked into Blaga's we were not greeted in a friendly manner by Blaga herself. When I was asked what we were there for, and told her that I set an appointment to try on bridal gowns she told me to look around and set anything aside that I wanted to try on (which was fine), she was taking care of someone else for about 20 minutes before saying anything else to us. (We almost walked out at this point but I had found some dresses I really wanted to try on). The moment I walked into the fitting room she made me feel very uncomfortable and she was extremely rude, telling me I should know what style I liked by now. I explained that it was kind of hard to do so when we had no one assisting us and we were looking at gowns in bags so it was difficult to tell what style they even were. When we asked why we couldn't take pictures she began to become even more rude. I absolutely loved this one dress but the mood that she put us in really made it difficult to feel the emotion of it, so she ruined it completely for us. She asked for me to try on other dresses that I had picked out but she had ruined any future sale for me and I told her I was all set and left the store angry and upset. I have already found another bridal store with the exact same Maggie Sottero dress that I loved there! Even though the price is slightly more than her boutique, I am much more wiling to spend my money anywhere else but Blaga's! If you enjoy really poor customer service then I would suggest you go visit her, if not...stay clear!!!!! read more

Don't trust Blaga! We found a dress that was nice but required substantial alterations. We questioned Blaga several times and she agreed that the price we disscussed was for alterations and the dress. However, when we went to pick up the dress she added a substantial charge for alterations. Our fault we didn't read the back of the reciept, it states alterations are extra. She probably scams a lot of people like this! She requires all payments after the down payment to be in cash; what is up with that? Also once she gets some money from you her attitude changes, very nice at first but grumpy after she gets the cash! read more

I came across Blaga's Bridal Shoppe when I was looking for a specific Maggie Sottero gown. I called to see if she carried the dress, and though she did not, she told me she had several similar to it and we could always order that specific gown if that was the style I really wanted. I have a curvy figure and I'm very self conscious about my chest. I honestly wasn't exactly thrilled to go dress shopping because I feared none of the sample sizes would fit and I wouldn't be able to get a good idea of what type of gown would be flattering on me. I was also a little worried because I had read some negative reviews of the store. When I arrived for my appointment, I explained to Blaga that I really did not have my heart set on a specific style of gown, I wanted to wear what would be the most flattering on me and I told her I am self conscious about my chest and didn't want anything that made me look too busty or have too much inappropriate cleavage. She took a look at my body shape and began pulling dresses for me to try. Initially, I did not want a corset back gown but Blaga explained how it can give you such a nice shape and hold everything in--so I figured I would give them a try. She was right, they were clearly the most flattering on me. Just a little forwarning--if you are looking for the "Say Yes to the Dress" experience (champagne, big fluffy couches for your entire entourage to sit on, a salesperson to suck up to you and tell you how fabulous you look etc), you might be disappointed. Blaga's store is small but she has a wonderful selection of Maggie Sottero and Casablanca gowns and her sample gowns are in pristine condition. Several sample gowns I tried on at other salons were dirty, ripped, frayed--no one took the time like Blaga did to help me in and out of the gowns to preserve their condition. Blaga was very honest with me about what gowns worked on my body shape and what gowns didn't. I didn't find it insulting at all, in fact, I found it quite refreshing and I was grateful for her honesty. She pulled out a dress that I would have never chosen on my own--Maggie Sottero Emma in this beautiful champagne color that worked really well with my skin tone. It had a sweetheart neckline which I was nervous about (again, didn't want too much cleavage on my wedding day) but she assured me it would be tailored perfectly and would be very flattering. Her prices were very reasonable and comparable if not a little less than other bridal salons. Just a heads up that while you can put the deposit of the dress on a credit card, the balance and alterations need to be paid in cash. My dress arrived within 5-6 months (my sister waited over a year for her gown at another salon) and we started the alterations a few months before the wedding. Blaga did an amazing job on my alterations. She literally tailored the bust by hand as I was wearing the dress to ensure it laid perfectly. She put a lot of work into my alterations because the lace around the bottom of the gown had to be removed and replaced when the hem was shortened. She kept saying "this dress is a lot of work" so of course, I'm thinking my alterations are going to cost more than the dress. Not at all. When she told me what the total for alterations were, I literally looked at her and asked if that was what the down payment was. I cannot believe how reasonable her prices were considering the amount of work she put into the alterations. My wedding was in December, and I still have people telling me how beautiful my dress was and how perfectly it was tailored. The sweetheart neckline laid perfectly across my chest--no popping out or excessive cleavage! I can't say enough about how pleased I was with the service at Blaga's Bridal Shop. I loved the one on one attention she always gave and she really is knowledgeable about bridal gowns and an expert in alterations. If you are looking for the big, grandiose, Say Yes to the Dress experience--you may want to consider going elsewhere. If you want personalized service, an honest opinion on what will look best on your body type and expert alterations so your dress fits like a glove--go see Blaga! read more
