Do not do any repairs without getting another estimate. I went there to get new tires and a wheel alignment. They put on new tires but said they could not do the wheel alignment because I needed additional repairs at the cost of $2,349.89. I took all the information to another mechanic. They took over an hour to look through everything. I was told that everything was good and I didn't need any repairs. They did not charge me Luckily I went to an honest repair shop or it would have cost me a lot of money for unnecessary repairs. They did not charge me to check out my car. I went to farm and fleet to put in a complaint with the manager. He apologized to me and said it was not explained to me properly and it was not anything that needed to be done right away. He offered me a 10% discount next time I need work done. I stopped in here as I was looking for Water Joe, the caffeinated water alternative to coffee. Unfortunately I did not find any, but despite walking the entire main aisle of the store, not a single employee asked if I needed help. I did hear an older woman worker loudly dress down a group of employees with, "What are you all supposed to be doing!?" It's difficult to lead by example when you publicly shame your workers. The store also is in desperate need of remodeling as it appears dingy and unorganized, with many empty shelves and large pallets of unstocked merchandise in the aisles. I recently took my car in for an alignment at Farm and Fleet, but when I drove home, I noticed the steering wheel was still significantly off-center. They provided a list of recommended parts replacements, some of which I had already recently replaced, which was why I needed the alignment in the first place. When I called to report that my car was still having the same issue, I was told that I needed to purchase and install all of the recommended parts before they could re-align my car. After speaking with the manager, he acknowledged that some of the recommended parts were not necessary. I'm extremely disappointed and have lost trust in Farm and Fleet's services. Pet supplies here are outstanding, great selection. Great selection of clothes too. Plenty of hardware and tools here too. Seasonal things like seeds and soil can be a really good deal if you get them on sale. Lot of outdoor items too for camping and fishing. Ammo is fairly expensive compared to Walmart. People seem to hate the auto service here. Today we tried to buy a batter for a scooter, guy in the battery section gave good advice for where to get one that would work for the scooter. I returned a pair of $200.00 Thorogood steeltoe work boots that were defective after I had them for only 4 months. I called and talked to store mgr. Rob who was very respectful and understanding . When I brought the boots in with the receipt, I was met by customer svc. rep. Diana. Diana was unbelievably professional and pleasant. Every single time I buy a battery here and it craps out well before warranty is up it's always the battery's fine we can't replace it ect the automotive dept is a pure joke and they don't want to honor any warranty. Sure was quick to reccomend a upgrade though... after the third time I learned my lesson. As a frequent shopper I can say I'll never do business here again. This is like the store that has one of everything. Tires, horse blankets, camouflage overalls, Christmas decorations... Store itself is not much to look at, and is (obviously) geared toward a farming clientele, but man, what great merchandise and prices! My friend Mary got a wire dog crate for $25, I got a huge bag of cat food for $10 and a pound of pecans for $4. After buying $800 worth of tires and buying their road hazard package, I developed a leak in a tire. Tires were bought 6 months ago. Asked for a Sunday afternoon appointment but was told they didn't have anything till Wednesday morning. I complained and then all of a sudden they had a Sunday afternoon appointment. After showing up at 2:15 for 2:30 appointment, my vehicle was not pulled in till 2:45. After pulling it in they came and told me that it was a rim leak. I said ok, I have road hazard. They said rim leaks are not covered by road hazard. They told me it would be $15 to repair my rim leak.So much for road hazard. Looks like I look for someplace else for tires on my other car. I honestly love this store. If I put a list together of all of the things I have purchased here you would probably be laughing at me. This place is like a Menard's or Home Depot but it goes deeper then that. For example, we could buy baby chicks if we wanted to. We didn't but my little one wanted to! On a side note, they were really cute but I am sure there is some law in Chicago about having a chicken running around your house. Now I am picturing the opening scene of the hotel suite of "The Hangover" during the morning after. Why was that chicken there? It never got fully explained and maybe some things are better left unsaid!!! They have everything here and at great prices. I was able to find new Weber Grill handles for my grill here plus a brand new grill top. I needed to keep out some annoying neighbor kids off of my property and I purchased a 120 feet of fence with a pole pounder. Life jackets and boat ropes...check. A trailer hitch lock and cover...yes they have it. A secret covert camera to take pictures of deer in the dark or night...yeah I bought that too but it was for my Dad who was mad that people were stealing vegetables out of his garden at night. We are still waiting to catch the thief but I do have some nice pictures of my Dad gardening in the same spot every day. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Sure does...who needs Disney World when you have this place to visit. So if you need anything and can not find it in another store there is a good chance that they have it here. We really love visiting this store...it is kind of like me visiting a Best Buy...I can walk around for hours checking out all of the cool stuff! read more

I will NEVER bring a vehicle back to these jokers again! I dropped off my wife's car on a Saturday at 8:15am just to have a leaking tire fixed because she purchased the road hard protection with the tires. They said they'd have it done by the end of the day. I called them at 4:30pm they said they didn't get to it they'll defiantly have it done Sunday. We went there Sunday evening to do some shopping and saw the car was on the lift. Closing time came around and the service tech said the manager put it on the lift then went home. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 21 BUSINESS HOURS AND COULDN'T FIX A FLAT TIRE!!! I told them get it off the lift we're taking it somewhere else. I asked him why it wasn't worked on and he said they had all the tires off today he didn't know what was going on. Needless to say the tire was still losing air. They didn't do shit. read more

We bought a riding lawn mower this weekend in a pinch and Jami in the seasonal department was amazing. She gave us all the information over the phone and walked us through the sale when we arrived a few hours later. Unfortunately, when we went to the back to pick it up, our new mower wouldn't start and the kid (no, I'm not calling him a young man) that was helping us had no clue what to do. We told him to start with the battery and when he brought out a new battery, he asked my husband if he had any tools so my husband replaced the battery himself. Not impressed with the 'back of the house' service. I called for more information two days later and again, Jami went above and beyond to take care of my needs so kudos to the in-store service team. read more

Blain's Farm & Fleet motto "It was already broken" This is a complaint in regards to the Sturtevant Location, Automotive dept. (note, this location seems to be filled with people in their early to mid 20's; the person who worked on my car looked like a white Rastafarian) In February 2014 I took my car in to get 4 new tires. During the replacement, my tpms strap broke, they replaced it and charged me for it without contacting me beforehand, even though i was there in the store. They should have at least called me on my phone and notified me of this. They charged me for parts and labor but I complained to the manager and he removed the charges. 2 DAYS LATER. TPMS sensor fault. I call and they said to bring it it. The sensor then turns off, so i figure it was a fluke. A few weeks later, same issue, but the error flashes on only once in a while. i am busy with work and i had an illness, so i put it off until i could take it in with the sensor error, so it would be easy to check. So i call again telling them about my issue in mid march. they say they won't give me an appointment because they have a tire sale. I have to come in first come first serve. So i wait and go in with an appointment a week or so later. Turns out 2 of my sensors are broken. Right away they are defensive saying it's not their fault. I didn't SAY it was their fault, when i called on the phone and when i brought it in, i just said i wanted to take it there and have a diagnostic ran on the car and then go from there. pretty much my exact words. I felt as if the person was inching away to escape from me when i was just asking for information about the issue. Everything was 'I don't know'. I asked to see the manager and he told me that since my car had x amount of miles on it, it made sense than my sensors failed. again, the inching away attitude with this person. They didnt want to deal with me or even TELL me which sensors were damaged. their print-out looked like it was printed with a potato. There was black ink covering the left 1/4 of the page and it was obscuring the chart they use to mark what tires they worked on. ANYWAYS.. It seems suspicious to me that I never had any problems yet i bring my car in to get my tires done and 2 days later i have 2 sensors that are bad or damaged. This is going to cost me several hundred dollars in parts and labor. I'm never going back to this store. I wasn't treated like a valued customer and i felt like i was getting substandard treatment. Their service is always HORRIBLE, constantly understaffed, I've had issues with work quality and consistency, and I can never seem to get anyone on the phone when I call. Prices are low, sales are attractive, and they carry brands I can't find at other big chains so I have continued to give them my business. No more. Worst service ever! Not only did I sit in their repair shop 3 hours yesterday to have nothing done to my brakes, their estimate jumped from $240 to $1000. I explained that I didn't have the money for such a costly repair. Working with them for hours, we were able to get the cost down to $548 and some change. I made another appointment to have the work done today. Estimated length of time for it to be completed was 3 hours. After waiting 4 hours I asked when it would be done as I needed my insulin, as I wasn't expecting to be gone that long so didn't bring it with me. Around 4:40 the work on my van was complete. I waited another 10 minutes for them to ring me out, and had my $550 in my hand to pay for the repair. At this point I am feeling hot, my chest is pounding, and I feel weak. They give me the total of $598, much higher than the estimate. When I questioned them, they said it was for a service charge and tax. I had other cars worked on there and the bill always came to the penny with their estimate. They took $14.99 off the bill. I explained that I had the money for the estimate and no more. By that time all of the men in the shop knew that I needed my insulin and hung out in the garage rather than going into the customer service area. They had no concern whatsoever regarding my medical emergency. Finally the store manager came into the service area and asked if my service dog needed water. My reply was "forget my service dog, I need my insulin!" She told me that my car would not be released until the bill was paid in full, I told her just like everyone else that I have the money needed per the estimate, and had no more money coming in, as I sold my junker car to get the repair done. She said this situation comes up a lot and if I did not pay the balance over the estimate, they would have the police take me home. At this point I was so weak that I couldn't grasp anything or even stand. I thought to my self, if this happens all of the time, why haven't they fixed the system and trained the employees to give the correct amount for the repair job instead of just parts and labor. As I was fading into the darkness of my glucose high, I reached out to my ICE contact who got me loaded into his truck and settled the bill with me. Had I been told the correct estimate total up front, I would have planned for it. Finding out about the extra charges as I'm settling the bill, which lead to an additional 90 minutes without my insulin isn't right. If you want inaccurate estimates and long long wait times and poor customer service, go to Farm and Fleet. If you expect good service, customer satisfaction, and accurate estimates, go some place else. I'd like to thank the tall, thin, female customer who was concerned about my health and offered to pay the remainder of my bill. She waited until my ICE contact showed up with my insulin and settled my bill, then help me to his truck. read more

Very poor service for getting help with heavier items. No one is ever around and those that are, are just ignoring anyone who may need help. Also don't even ask for help getting it out to your car. You wait and wait. Only one person assigned to this, what a joke. When you have a big sale you should have more people around to help people and make sure they get the help they need. Love your products but your customer service sucks BIG! Service to customers is not a big item here, even though if it wasn't for customers you would not have a business. For car repairs...DON'T GO. Farm & Fleet used to be my go to place for simple car repairs. The weekend and later evening hours made it convenient. My last experience was exactly that....my last. The woman working at the desk was both not knowledgeable and demonstrated extremely poor customer service. The two other customers in the area were both having problems with their service and the woman was so unprofessional she actually said "yes, there is a member of management here but it's just an assistant manager and he is too busy to talk to you." I wasn't looking forward to my turn. It must have been a really bad day for the mechanics because they told me they could not perform a simple alignment because a shock was bad. It was pretty clear they didn't have enough competent staff and would rather turn away business. After all, doesn't Farm and Fleet sell shocks?? I blew the better part of my Saturday and when I asked for the District Managers contact information she claimed she had no idea who that would be. When I asked for her name she said "I will write it down for you, nice and clear." This was a simple job and could have been an opportunity for an upsell. I would highly recommend using your regular repair shop for anything you need. This place is not worth the potential convenience, in fact it's not worth patronizing simply for the way they treat their customers. For that reason, I am OUT!!! read more

I live over 45 minutes from the store and it's a job that would take 15 minutes. I left and went elsewhere. read more
