We recently bought a 2023 Audi SQ5 sight unseen from Texas (we're in California), and since it was a German car and we didn't want to rely on the independent dealerships word, we decided to call around for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. We ended up going with Blair Automotive, as they were recommended by a few folks on a Dallas TX Facebook group and I am glad we went with them! Shelton and his team at Blair knew what they were working with as this is a specific German car that not many automotive shops have the expertise nor skills. Shelton handled the entire process - the pre-purchase inspection, coordinated directly with the dealership, and even gave us a great deal we just couldn't refuse - get the rear brakes serviced/replaced, as they were very low. They even have a 5 yr warranty with this service!! Keep in mind, We also wanted to drive the car as soon as it arrived to us in California, so Shelton and his team completed the rear brake service the SAME-DAY as the transport pick up! Just in time to complete the service, get the car back to the dealership and transport it out, all within just a few hours. Despite my initial intention to provide a positive review, I must express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at this establishment. On Friday, May 29th, I dropped off my car for service. Unfortunately, the process was marred by several issues. During the time my vehicle was in the shop, two employees were observed rummaging through various compartments, and some items were missing from the middle console. Upon meeting with management, they acknowledged their employees' actions and cleared my invoice. However, the primary reason for my car's delay has yet to be addressed. I contacted the manager via text on June 5th, but I have not received a response to date. Despite my patience, I have now waited until today, June 8th, to await a response. Management has been attentive to their request for videos to review for company purposes, but the focus was not included on the issue. As a patron, I strongly advise you to exercise caution when using this establishment. They billed me 10.8 hours for a job that took them only 4.5 hours. The vehicle was washed before my arrival, but the interior was left in a state of disarray due to the employees' actions. I am now required to have my car re-inspected to identify the underlying issue and obtain a new bill. My vehicle was taken to a repair shop for suspension work, and the process was unnecessarily extensive. My advisor, Alex, provided false information, claiming to have informed me of delays and assuming that the employee had searched my car for a wheel lock without my consent. Some individuals may claim that they have cleared the invoice, which may bring some satisfaction. However, if a significantly increased invoice has been cleared, and the same unusual noise that emanated from your vehicle before the initial repair is now reoccurring, accompanied by new and potentially more disruptive noise, is this situation considered acceptable? read more

I came to them after my rearview mirror broke, and after calling 3-4 other shops, Blair was the only place that could get me in quickly and offered a price that genuinely surprised me--in the best way. Their customer service is next-level. From the start, Sarah was incredibly kind and communicative. She stayed in touch before my appointment and kept checking in with me while I was there. Robert (I believe he's the manager) even came out to ask if I was okay or needed anything. One of the team members literally made me a cup of coffee while I waited! The lobby and bathrooms were spotless, and I was in and out in under an hour. I ended up coming back a week later for a $40 oil change on my Audi--which is practically unheard of. First visit for an oil change was a positive experience. On my second visit, I was advised that PDK work was needed, though I had that work completed within the prior six months and later determined it was not required. On my third visit, the original concern was a slight hesitation. I was first told a clutch was needed then a week or two later advised that a transmission replacement was required. After approximately 30 days, I requested to pick up my vehicle. It was returned in worse condition than when it was brought in, with a few screws missing. Brought my Range Rover in for a coolant leak and they were able to find the leak and bring me to the back to see it in about 20 minutes - which was great. They worked up numbers and sourced the part from Land Rover and guaranteed that I would have my car back by the end of the day. They got me a Lyft to work which was wonderful and I was really relieved at how transparent the process felt. The only reason I knocked a star is because when I called for updates - 4 times - the first time I was told my person would call me back and the second time no answer third time same fourth time a lady answered and said he was busy and would call back - at this point it was about an hour before they closed and my fear was making it in time before they left and also of course any update on my vehicle. He ended up calling back saying my car was ready and when I showed up it was! No additional surprises, I mentioned how it was a little uneasy not being able to get ahold of them but he let me know the WiFi went down that day. Since my Audi went off warranty I've searched for a service place I can trust. I didn't buy into the recommendations made at Blair but after exhaustive research i determined they were correct and giving me an honest indication of my issue. Another Euro car service place down the block incorrectly aligned my tires 5 months ago, knowing the control arm bushings were compromised. The result is premature and uneven tire wear costing mr $1,600 for new tires. Blair politely refused to do an alignment noting the bushings issue. Great people at Audi of Fort Worth and Great Service - No Complaints, But way too far to drive from my house. 2nd Dealership for service Audi of Grapevine. Love hate relationship. PROBLEM They moved to Lavon Texas. Love the Work but really really far to Drive. Reffered to BLAIR AUTOMOTIVE for APR Tune. Met Aaron Blair who handled my APR Tune with me. FYI the APR ECU / TCU completely changed the performance of my car - LOVE it! I told him my factory warranty was coming to an end and was not happy with the dealerships. Ask him if he excepted extended warranties and what companies did he excepted. He named a few and one of them was EFG which I had the privilege of working for. So I purchased a Warranty with EFG. They have done numerous Oil Changes Replaced a Lower control arm / Front end Alignment which dealership could not fix after 4 plus hours and wanted $750 to relook at. Motor Mount / Turbo Coolant Seals and many other things. I will say that their Mechanics during Oil Changes are very Zealous about Diagnosing lots of things your car may need. But better Safe than Sorry. Also they have Loaner cars which is a big plus. FYI the Loaner cars (VW jetta) Are kinda Slow compared to an AUDI S6. Made the mistake of trying to cross an intersection to turn into a grocery store and the Jetta didnt have a lot of power so lady in SUV got pissed at me. I even did the cardinal sin of asking if the car was ready. I really didn't want to ride my motorcycle to Forney. Lol. I've had the car for two days now; everything has been running great. What's offered on their website does not have anything to do with what happens when you drive there and actually ask for the "free" diagnostic report. I was immediately offered the $190.00 diagnosis for my air conditioning issue. I mentioned the free offer that was supposed to take 15 minutes and respectively asked for that. One hour later I was told the free diagnosis indicated that I needed the $190.00 diagnosis that would take an additional hour and a half. An advertising scam that feels like a total scam is a scam. With so many ways to attract customers I think it's sad when deceptive trade is used. Can't say I'd recommend a company that engages such practices. read more

I LOVE my car but keeping a 15-year Audi with 150,000+ miles running can be a challenge. For me, having a relationship with a great shop is a must for me since the need for repairs come up rather often. I have exclusively used Blair Automotive since November 2015...back when they were located in Frisco. They have all of the specialized equipment and expertise needed to diagnose and repair my aging Audi. This includes the specialized wheel alignment rack needed for proper Audi alignment. EDIT: An update after speaking with Ryan Blair (I am leaving the original message intact below, as it was my opinion based on the customer service experiences I have had, and the positive interactions I noticed with other clients; however, it is not the case, and it is important to make a clarifying statement): I am, in fact, the exact customer that Blair is looking for in their work. My below statement is based on my perceived opinion of customer service with other clients, and not based on the realities of the work they do. The work I am mentioning below, and assuming is not a priority for Blair, is in fact the bulk of their work. I am appreciative of the call and discussion, as it did clarify their priorities. I do maintain, however, that based on the customer service, these priorities are not on display. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: I have been going to Blair for the past couple of years with a couple different cars. I've spent around 10K, give or take, on work there, but have made the decision after today's service to no longer be a client. Let me say first there is no animosity in this post toward the gentlemen at Blair (I promise); however, I feel it is important that people like me who may be interested in Blair as a mechanic are aware of the perception given to those who don't drive either higher-end European cars, or vehicles with heavy modification asperations. For those customers that are looking for a reliable shop that can be trusted for preventative maintenance, but do not plan to modify their vehicles, Blair is not the right choice. While they are clearly very knowledgeable about their craft, and skilled at their work; you will never be a priority for them if you want something regular done on a basic vehicle. This is not to say that they won't work with you on helping with cars that aren't the high-end/modified variety. They in fact worked with me on a domestic vehicle due to my lack of trust for dealerships. I am very appreciative of that work. Yet every time that I visit the shop, or schedule an appointment, I feel as though I am an after thought and not worth their time. Maybe it is that I deal in a service facing industry that I am so attuned to slights; however, that does not justify them. I'm honestly surprised by this practice given that often preventative maintenance and yearly tasks like oil/filter/wiper changes are wide-margin jobs for mechanic shops, and the modifications are less so given the uniqueness of each endeavor. You certainly can eventually get wide margins on mods; however, that takes time and consistency with the task to refine the processes and reduce the expenses. Obviously, I understand that foreign vehicles can take more; however, given their excessive amount of certifications, tools, and experience for the European vehicles, that should not be an issue. That therefore leads me to the belief that they simply do not want those jobs, but perform them in what they see as a curtesy. Ultimately, I am just not the type of client that Blair is looking for in their customer base. Perhaps too it is the fact that my main euro is a TDI (very limited work need to maintain other than a couple annual services). Their focus is on the modification scene, and higher end exotics/euros. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. It is their business, and they have worked hard to build their brand. It is very impressive what they have achieved. I just will not be a client moving forward. TLDR; Blair are very skilled, and work hard; however, if you just want a non-dealership shop that you can take your basic euro to and not feel like you are lesser-than, then Blair is not the shop for you. read more

I took my Porsche to get its oil changed here. Facility is very nice and clean- plenty of space to sit and relax if you're waiting for your car. Wifi is available as is a variety of video games to keep you company. Staff is friendly and they took my information and got started on my car right away since I had set up an appointment. They originally said it would take an hour, but it ended up being closer to an hour and 45 minutes, so take that into consideration if you're in a time crunch. I personally would rather have a job done right than be rushed, but it's worth mentioning that it did take decently longer than originally anticipated, so if you're not just leaving your car there for the day, add some padding to your schedule. Price was reasonable for the oil change, cheaper than some other places that I got estimates from. I think they offer a PCA discount if you're a part of that, but I can't fully confirm just yet- the person I was emailing with said yes, but it was never applied to my invoice- shame on me for not double checking before paying, but at that point I was in a bit of a rush because it took longer than expected. Car still seems to be in one piece and is running well. Overall a fairly good experience. read more

Our BMW was having trouble after returning to Texas to DFW airport from a trip. We live 2.5 hours away and found ourselves in a real bind because the car was not drivable. I found Blair Automotive online and contacted them based on their online reviews. Despite being a rather expensive repair, the BMW was repaired the next day and from top to bottom, Blair Automotive was extremely professional, transparent, and efficient. I double checked their quote with BMW dealerships and from other repair shops in the metro area specializing in European vehicles. Their price was much less than the dealerships and was competitive with all other shops. If I lived in DFW, I wouldn't use anyone else with the BMW as they also had a BMW Certified Master Technician which made me confident as well. read more

I had my car in for routine checkup. First when I brought my car in the girl asked me what do you mean by routine check up. I thought that was a strange question. I brought my car here originally with an oil leak several months earlier. They fixed with a new manifold. I thought I had a leak again. I did see some liquid on my garage floor. I then thought it was not oil but maybe water. I did take my car in for what I thought was a routine check up. I did see a service light that I thought should be checked. They sent me a laundry list of things that needed fixed. After going over them with Tiger I said to replace the manifold which he said was the most critical. I agreed to that and some other things. Total was going to be around $3200. They called and said my car was ready and I went to pick it up. I realized that they had just replaced the manifold a few months earlier. When I got there I asked the gentleman to check the service report they had done a few months before and Tiger along with this other gentleman realized they had done it and it was still under warranty. My issue is this the gentleman said my car had 2 manifolds or maybe had 2. BMW X5's do not have 2 manifolds. I told him I could google that real fast and prove him wrong. They were going to charge me almost 1900.00 again for a new manifold. Had I not caught this they would have made another 1900.00 and I would not have been the wiser. When I asked how come they did not catch this in their system they said they had changed systems. This is the oldest excuse in the book. Be very careful when you go there and check everything they do. I will never take my car back there due to the complete neglect on their part. On another note this was the 3rd time I had my car there. The second time they never even got to my car. I made an appointment and when I called to check on my car after two days they still had not looked at it. I told them I was leaving town and needed my car so they left it out with the keys in a lock box. Just saying their service is very poor or at least in my experience it is. read more

I own a Mercedes E350 Cabriolet and I have been a customer of Blair since I bought this car. I have ALWAYS been treated with kindness and respect. I have had dealings with almost everyone in the front reception and several of the guys in the back as well. They have always been thorough in their explanations and have often times taken me into the shop to SHOW me the issue and describe what is going on. The two words that I would use to describe this shop are: Class and cleanliness. You can eat off the floor. The place is absolutely top quality with the espresso and snacks, a conference room to do business while you wait, and most of all, a staff that knows how to stand in honor and integrity in their dealings with their customers! RARE FIND! EXTREMELY highly recommended. P.S. I read the few negative reviews and after doing a little digging; it appears that all of their reviews are mostly negative. Some people are just very unhappy with their own lives, and wish to hurt others or make them miserable. I find this to be very sad and petulant. I was able to sneak in a pre-purchase inspection same day (also within 1.5 hrs of closing) on a 2014 z4 sdrive35i here at Blair. I've heard good things about this shop and finally was able to experience the quality of service I was told they provide. I've always known them as Audi/VW guys, but was elated when they recently added BMW capability. The waiting room is comfortable and different (video games available), but was a bit quiet and awkward as you sit next to a few other folks - bring headphones. Regardless, I appreciated the available free snacks cuz I was getting a bit hangry as the clock neared 6pm. Sorry to the other 2 guys waiting with me as I chomped some cheddar crackers. Amber, my service advisor, was extremely informative, and I appreciated that she is a certified tech herself.
