One of my go-to lunch spots :) I am lucky enough to have a number of local spots to visit near by office. I work in town in Carnation and Blake's has become one of my go-to spots! I usually give myself one lunch out a week during the work week and I have returned to Blake's a few times. They have slices or whole pizzas and I usually just get whatever slice they have available. The slices are a nice size and it is very fast to get served which makes it a good place for lunch. They also have plenty of other options but I have not tried any yet. I hope to try more of their specialty options soon! read more

Yum city! Stopped in after a long day of work and was greeted by a kind employee. I let them know it was my first time in and I was hoping for a slice. The employee said they just pulled out Hawaiian, cheese and pepperoni so I got the last two. Didn't realize how big the slices were, but I couldn't stop eating! This is some of the best pizza I've had! I can see why people come here. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area and I would love to try some ice cream as well. My only complaint is the tables were all empty, but all visibly dirty. They just needed to be wiped down. read more

The pizza was pretty good (got slices of the Hawaiian and supreme) but the star of the show is the meatball sub.

They have best grinders. Yum yum!!! We order from there when go to Big Block Brewing. Big Block allows you to bring in your oun food.

Stop by for pizza and ice cream for lunch about 2x a month. We get the individual slices - that way there is variety. But know that these are very generous and large slices of homestyle pizza. So I usually get one slice and then leave room for a scoop of ice cream. Keep saying we will try the grinders but those irresistible slices call out to me! And service is always warm and friendly. read more

I was originally just going to give five stars based on hospitality alone. We rolled in as Blake's was getting ready to close up and they very graciously gave us the go-ahead to order. My friend and I have the nerve to ask for modifications (I'm a pain in the neck) and, again, our request was reviewed warmly. Anyway, two hours later and we finally got to eat this pizza. It's cold, well-traveled, and freakin DELICIOUS. The pesto is homemade and awesome and, even though we made some swaps on our "Betta with Feta" pie, it couldn't have been better even microwaved. Every time I go to Blake's it is so good. A small shop next the Carnation Market and Jackson's gas station. Not a fancy locale. Excellent service, clean, fantastic food. Portions are generous. Food is always delicious. The kind of sandwich you wish you would get at a sandwich chain but it just doesn't get it. Bread is fresh and soft, yet a little crust after toasting. Deli meats taste fresh. Salads are fantastic. This a real little gem. read more

Blake's has an awesome deal for a large pizza of the month for 17.99 I thought I couldn't go wrong with that. I was wrong. I ordered the Susie Q pizza and the cheesy bread. All of the food was bland. The marinara sauce for the cheesy bread was bland. Dominos makes better cheesy bread. The pizza had a lot of toppings but no taste. The sausage tasted like it had no seasonings. The cheese was bland. The sauce was also bland. Most of the reviews are from people getting subs and not pizza. So maybe their subs are better but their pizza isn't anything special. The pizza is edible just entirely forgettable. read more

Honestly, I LOVE Carnation. I am a writer, so forgive me if this review is too long...I go to to Tolt McDonald Park...my favorite park and love to go down to the river. I got sunburned after WAY TOO LONG picking Raspberries, so I was looking for a good sandwich. I am not from Carnation, so I got lucky, pulling into the right shopping center. I love when that happens. I had just roaster myself like a lobster at Remlinger Farms and overdid it by picking 23 pds. of raspberries for four hours down the road. I was so impressed with this business trying to do everything right. Over two days, I had gotten to know the town. I saw "Blake's Pizza", and even though I am from Washington D.C. and live in Seattle, I also went to college in an old, small Appalachian town called Frostburg, Maryland and also lived in another small town of Campton, New Hampshire. This reminds me of the down home, down to earth, country pizza and sandwich place that smells of great smells. I could tell it was "homemade" type food and not corporate which is my absolute favorite. I met Sam, who was nice and put up with my yapping too much and taking about all of the problems with people not wearing masks in Seattle. My mother recently died of COVID and I have three high risk conditions and I was sharing with him how impressed I was with how clean it was, how they were wearing masks, abiding by everything and just doing a wonderful job. He also filled me in that I hit the right sandwich spot and was just incredible sweet, warm and helpful!! Really! I asked Sam a few questions about how things were there and he said that they are a very popular business in town, but COVID has made things tough for them, but that they are staying afloat and doing the best they can. I was impressed with a few things that I do not see in Seattle: 1.) They had a VISIBLE sign apologizing for inconveniences, but explaining that it is the law to wear a mask on a white sign outside. Again, it is VISIBLE!! 2.) They had a cup saying "CLEAN PENS" AND I LOVED THAT!!!! As I told them, NOBODY IN SEATTLE is doing this. 3.) They were quite obviously and actively disinfecting to a point that I was so impressed and it kind of touched my heart b/c I saw how busy they were and there were only two people. 5.) Places like this need the help of everyone. It is hard enough for people to make a living and I am glad I could help them even though I am poor and unemployed. These are one of those rare gems that really cares about their community. THEN....DRUMROLL PLEASE...I HAD THEIR ITALIAN SUB...called the "Blake's" and I honestly have to say it was one of the best sandwiches I have EVER HAD. I would DRIVE AGAIN TO CARNATION JUST TO GET THAT! So, as if that is not enough... Also, when I lost my top at the IGA to the fountain soda I got there, THEY gave me a free refill there at Blake's. What a wonderful, beautiful group of people and a wonderful, beautiful place. I found out about the beautiful town of Carnation way too late as I really would love to live in that town, but after 14 years in Seattle, my husband and I want to leave the country during COVID. We will see. All I can say is that I am SO GRATEFUL for the beautiful memories of Carnation and the memory of warm, filling and savory food sticks with a person. I will be back soon...but I have not had a bad experience in this town yet...and that is saying something b/c I am A LOVER of the geography, but not a fan of people in Seattle. I am a food lover and part Italian and I know it will stick with me. Thanks, Blake's and all the wonderful people of Carnation, Washington. We visit this pizza joint only once a year, on the 4th of July. 20 years of visiting only once a year and this place has a special place in my heart. Blake's is the quintessential small town pizza-ria, where the local highschool kids go and some work there. From what I can tell they are a community based strong business. About the food: I think it is great, last year I had a pizza style sub and it was bomb. last night I ordered a pizza (cant remember the name) and it was great. Im not going to compare their food to other high end restaurants all Im going to say is it is the best pizza in this town and I love supporting this place. During the covid I can only assume business has been difficult but they are doing their best to stay a float, arcade games are quarantined off, no seating except outdoors, and employees wearing their masks which can not be fun in a small hot pizza restaurant like this. The original owner kindly sold the business to long time employees when he retired. Most importantly, Blake's makes the best pizza in the valley.
