Ardiri Winery is a gorgeous location in the hills of wine country. The wines just aren't great. I like the presentation of the wines as you pick your flight and then small carafes are brought out for your tasting. But the server never went thru the wines and explain the origin or the history of the wines. This was a negative as the winery we previously visited had an informative narrative as part of the presentation. There are so many wineries in the Willamette region, and we will continue to taste at many others. But I will not recommend Ardiri as one for new visitors to visit. read more

Spectacular vineyard, forrest, and Mount Hood (if it's a clear day) views in a cool setting. We stopped in with a group of four for a Friday afternoon wine tasting. We didn't have a reservations, but were still able to get a nice fire pit table outside under the trellis. Once taken to our table, we were brought out a pour of their bubbles, such a delightful way to be welcomed while we decided what we wanted to order. Two of us opted to taste and the other two for a glass of wine. Glass sizes were generous pours. For tasting we went with both the classic - red, and bianca - white flights to share. Since we were sharing, our tasting associate was nice enough to give us a splash more of each so we could really try the wines. It was interesting that even though we were surrounded by a vineyard, most of the wine on the tasting menu didn't seem to be local. While the wine was all made by the winery, there were wines made with grapes from both Napa valley and Washington. They even had a blend that was made with both Napa and Oregon grapes. While these weren't necessarily my favorite wines I've had, I still really enjoyed my experience here, and did end up going home with a bottle of pinot. I'd probably skip the tasting next time and go for a bottle or glass, after trying and determining one that I liked. read more

I love the structure, vineyard, and environment. The patio, fires, chairs, grapes, trees, and almost view of mt. hood but it was a little too cloudy. This felt like a low key spot. Sundays are apparently very slow and with our family group (plenty of kids) it was perfect. It was great to chat with the owner and he's the one that helped us. We got to hear some technical details of wine making which was really fun. This is a place to chill, not a conveyor belt system. read more

Sad to leave this review. I have been member here for many yrs. Its was amazing service and great times. I cancelled my membership due to moving and then when I moved back I became a member again. The service has become annoying since all the workers got laid off/fired. I miss Jocelyn, she was amazing. I'm not sure the owner and his wife can manage it. From picking up wine to tastings, it's not fun anymore. Had the owner tell me I only was owed 2 bottles. I was sure it was 4. Got home after a 1.5 hr drive home and checked my statements and I was correct . Called and spoke with the owner and his response was "I don't remember you, just pick up what I owe you". He didn't even want my name?? With so many vineyards I canceled my membership and cannot recommend anymore. read more

Very beautiful setting with views of Mt Hood behind the vineyard however felt very unwelcome here. The hostess/server nearly rolled her eyes at me when I told her we had children in our party. She told us to go find a table to sit at. Sat at a table near the lawn for a good 20 minutes before another server came out to ask if we have been helped and then in an annoyed tone told us to come to the tasting room to check in next time, which we did. Overall the tasting was good but very stingy pours. I would not recommend if you have a larger party or any children in your party. read more

We stopped in for a tasting this weekend. We were looking for wineries at which we could bring our pup...she was very welcome at Ardiri, just had to be on leash and off the furniture. The indoor patio area is perfect for chilly days. They have a fireplace with seating, along with many tables with center fires and loads of blankets. The setting is beautiful, and the service is friendly. They even offered up some soup to enjoy with our wines! We had 5 tastings for $15. The wines were all pretty good, as was the soup. Overall it was a nice and relaxing tasting experience. We recommend and will be back. read more

Ardiri in Sicilian dialect means "take a risk". My hubby is Sicilian heritage and that intrigued him to want to visit this winery and try and buy their wines. (Available only by mail and at the tasting room which is open Friday through Sunday.) We knew little about Ardiri before our visit. We left big fans. Reasons follow. TASTING ROOM SETTING: This is a spectacular setting for the tasting room views, in particular for outdoor seating when weather cooperates including big firepits with chairs surrounding. Kanoodle the photos, in particular Dan P's. Accessible including accessible (aka ADA) parking and level, stable surface path into the tasting room. The only drawback may be that parking is limited, so at events where attendance is high, be prepared to hike up the hill. TASTING ROOM AMBIANCE / TASTING SET UP: With the roll up garage doors rolled down during inclement weather, as the day we visited, the tasting room is sleeker much smaller than some of the others nearby (as in David Hill and Montinore). But the host behind the tasting bar, Zac, was welcoming and knowledgeable. A $10 tasting fee (refundable with two bottle purchase) returned pours from a five wine fixed card that included the winery's white blended wine, Chehalem Gold, as well as four Pinot Noirs. A small plate of Pecorino Romano and crackers was offered to go with the wine. You'll also note how small are the tasting glasses here, unlike the larger Riedel glasses at others nearby. That's because the smaller glasses with shorter stems are more stable to prevent tipping over in the prone to wind outdoor seating area we were told. THE WINES: We enjoyed the Chehalem Gold which is a blend of their estate grown Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. At $20, this alone is worth a visit to the winery. We hope Ardiri will bottle Pinot Blanc as varietal in the future too. Being Oregonians (me a native, my husband a transplant) we are biased in favor of Oregon Pinot Noir and were surprised to find Ardiri's parent effort is in the Carneros area of Napa and so three of the four Pinots being poured were from Carneros. Carneros is a perfect growing area for Pinot Noir grapes and Oregon bias aside, the three Carneros grown Pinot Noir were really good. As high praise for him, my husband compared one to Chehalem's Stoller Vineyards Pinot Noir. Ardiri's single Oregon Pinot, the first release from their 15 acre vineyard in Cornelius was both hot (at 15% plus for alcohol) and a bit tight. But good enough to be interesting for what they will do as the vines mature. Although not on the tasting card, Zac was nice enough to open a bottle of the Due Stati (two states) for us to sample. Although still a touch young, this blend of both Carneros and Cornelius Pinot Noir (under $40) was very good for the promise it holds after it has been in the bottle for a while and we brought some home to lay down. BOTTOM LINE: We arrived curious and departed fans of Ardiri wines and winery. Both owners (John Compagno and Gail Lizak) grew up in Italian heritage families with a connection to wine starting in their childhoods and an appreciation for the connection between good wine, food and hospitality. Cent'anni! Highly recommend a visit to the winery and purchasing the wines. read more

I don't drink whites. But the Pinot Blac here at Ardiri was superb. Now, let me be clear, no buttery Chardonnay for me, but plenty of Vinho Verde. I love the crisp flavors and the effervescence. And the Pinot Blac captured my attention-because it had the right texture profile, with a fabulous crispness and maturity that vinho verde does not: it was truly fabulous. Now, I'm no sommelier; I just play one on TV. But this vintage makes me want to always keep a bottle on hand for friends...guess now I need to buy a wine cellar, or start excavation. read more

We came over Memorial Day weekend and lucked out with the most beautiful weather. When we showed up they happened to be out of clean glasses, so one of the sommeliers directed us to the "members only" section where we were comped for a tasting of their "finer seclection--library of I am correct". They also had been doing a chocolate pairings with the wine that day, which was a great addition! Definitely a more relaxed vibe with children and dogs welcome. Corn hole games can be found, but many just taking in the beautiful view of Mount Hood. Overall, good and affordable wine. read more

Ardiri's wines are quite underwhelming, but this is a really great, still-somewhat-undiscovered winery set in the hills outside Cornelius. They have an interesting louvered roof that lets in a gentle breeze but protects you from the rain. Staying warm is not a problem since every table inside the tasting room and many of those out on the patio are fitted with fire pits. I needn't mention the view since it speaks for itself. Tables have a one-hour limit, which I feel is appropriate for a party of four drinking one bottle of wine, but my friend bought a whole case and is a member of their wine club, so it seems a little dismissive of the higher-paying customers. I understand this policy exists so all customers have the time to sit and enjoy the environment, so I won't get my panties in too much of a wad over this. This time when I went there were two people behind the bar helping with tastings. Both were delightful, friendly gentlemen who seemed at-ease around each other and the customers. The tasting room was empty when we arrived at 11, but by 12:30 the place was hopping. I believe they only have the one bathroom which is gender-neutral, ADA compliant, and well-appointed, but it's dark and it only accommodates one person. During busy hours in the warm seasons, a line to use the bathroom forms right beside the bar. The owners and operators should be embarrassed enough to install another bathroom. I give four stars here - five stars for the view, setting, ambiance, and service, and three stars for the wines. read more

The Ardidri winery is a friendly, quiet retreat. One may bring their own picnic basket and savor a glass of their delicious wine, whilst basking in the beautiful scenery. The winery has a perfect view of Mt. Hood, flower gardens a bubbling fountain, surrounded by forest. Alas Mt. Hood was shrouded in clouds while we were there..yet the scenery of the vineyard and the forest and fluffy clouds did not fail. I visited Adiri this summer on a private tour with one of my best friends. It had recently been her birthday, and we needed to catch up. This winery is absolutely breathtaking. Both the grounds, and the view. I saw that someone downgraded them because a couple of the wines contained California grapes. Big deal. The wines are good. I'm more concerned with the overall quality rather than the origin. The majority of their wines are 100% Oregon grapes. Adiri is small and family owned. You can only buy their wines here, or have them delivered through their wine club. I appreciate the smaller boutique wineries since you will most likely be talking to the owners or wine makers. I'm not usually a huge fan of pinot noirs, but I did like these. I can't stress enough how lovely it is here. I would choose this winery for a wedding, date, or catching up with my friends any day! It is so serene sitting at the fire pits, yards from the vines, looking over the valley. Pack a picnic and spend the afternoon. read more

Ardiri is a beautiful winery surrounded by serenity and nature that serves up great wines. We came here when my parents were visiting. The Tasting Room is open only from Friday-Sunday. It opens at 11AM and starts to become busier in the afternoon. Tastings are $10 each and will give you 5-6 pours of different wines, in our case, mostly Pinot Noirs', a Rose and 2 whites. The employee pouring the wine behind the bar was very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. He helped us in saving a bit of money, like suggesting we just buy a bottle instead of 3 glasses of the same wine, which saved us some bucks. He also let me use my expired Groupon! (Although I did not get the souvenir wine glasses, but that's alright.) The wine was all very good. If you buy two bottles, it will cancel out one tasting and save you $10. Wine bottles range from $19-$30. We bought 3. If you become a Member, you save some dinero. All of the wine is fantastic, especially the Pinot Noir. I also surprisingly really enjoyed the Rose, when I typically am not a fan. They serve cheese and crackers during their tastings, but they don't serve food. They do encourage you to bring your own, and have plenty of outdoor seating and tables to enjoy a picnic! That's exactly what we did. There are some tables inside that have firepits, and plenty of outdoor tables in their beautiful grounds. You can walk the grounds, take in the sunshine and snap plenty of pictures of flowers, vines and scenery. The best part about this winery is that it's very dog friendly! There were plenty of pups hanging out there, including mine. This is a fantastic winery and I would love to return! read more

I have mixed feelings about the winery, so I'll just do my best to share my experience as I saw it. Arriving at the winery, I was greeted with a lovely territorial view over the vineyard. The tasting room was lively as had great ambiance with a quite a few padded chairs around some firepits. These were some real treats that I did not expect from a small local winery! As for the wine, I did the tasting flight and was not impressed. In my opinion, all of the pinot noirs were overoaked, which I thought suppressed a lot of the subtleties of the terroir and general characteristics of the pinot grape. The one pleasant surprise was a late harvest pinot dessert wine, which I was able to try at the end of my tasting, even though it wasn't on the tasting list. I thought it was well above average and possibly a little underpriced. Needless to say, I bought a couple bottles of that wine and have been enjoying them with friends as an after dinner treat! read more

I've previously only been to wineries/vineyards in Napa so Ardiri was definitely a new experience for me. The Willamette river valley in Oregon has spectacular scenery and Ardiri certainly takes full advantage of its beauty. In the hills just outside of Portland the winery grounds and tasting room are surrounded by the vineyard and a neighboring blueberry farm. The wine tasting ($10) included a Pinot Gris and 5 Pinot Noirs. The white and two of the reds (2011 and 2012) that we tried are grown, pressed and aged entirely on-site. In addition, Ardiri owns a small vineyard in Napa Valley where they produce another Pinot Noir. The final sample was was a 50/50 blend of the Napa and Willamette pinots. My favorite was toss up between the blend and the Napa. I ended up purchasing a bottle of the Napa ($29) and my companion purchased a bottle of the blend ($39). One nice thing they did was knock off the price of one of the tastings because we purchased two bottles. The gentleman who poured our tasters was very knowledgable not just about the wines at Ardiri, but also about the region. He gave us a map and showed us his favorite vineyards. He even introduced us to another patron who just happened to work at another winery in the region! Now for the great part, brought some apples, cheese, and dark chocolate with us to enjoy with the wine. There is plenty of outdoor seating with shaded picnic tables and two fire pits. A beautiful lawn in front of the tasting room was kid friendly and would have made a great place to put a blanket. They closed at 5 pm on Sunday for a private event, which is pretty cool for the people at the event, but inconvenient since we were enjoying ourselves! read more

My friend and I were on a road trip up the CA/OR coast and back down through some wineries. Ardiri wasn't even on our radar until it became recommended by a group of ladies at a previous stop! Zach was awesome and made some great recommendations during our tasting. I ended up heading home with 4 different bottles, one of which (Commander's Reserve) I thoroughly enjoyed this evening! (Weeks after our vacation unfortunately came to an end!) The view was absolutely beautiful, service incredibly friendly and the wine was delicious. I wish we could have stayed on the grounds a bit longer! Next time I'm in Oregon, Ardiri will certainly be a planned stop to stock up! read more

This winery was very pleasant. We visited on a Saturday around 1 pm (80 degrees out) and surprisingly it wasn't as packed as expected. There was still plenty of outdoor and covered seating on their patio. We had purchased the Groupon for a tasting for two, complimentary take home glasses and a $10 discount on a purchase of $50 or more. The wine was tasty! Our favorites were the 2014 Pink Tractor Rose and the 2011 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The staff was really friendly and it was like sipping wine on our back patio, but with a better view! ). The view was really breathtaking. This space would be perfect for a small wedding in the summer or a private party. Plus this is a family friendly environment. There is corn hole and there was a couple with their little ones playing games and blowing bubbles on the grass. read more
