We went here for our anniversary. We arrived during Happy Hour so I ordered a Margarita. My wife had a couple of French 75s with different gins. We had catfish nuggets which were perfectly cooked. All the apps were steaming hot. Our waiter Fabian was very good. We had a good conversation regardingHe suggested the curry chicken dip and encouraged us to slow down and eat the apps while they were hot. The French 75 was made with conniption gin. I ordered a Negroni and while they didn't have any Campari, Fabian got creative using some Aperol and St Germaine for an interesting twist. My wife had the lamb chops that was delicious. My steak was just ok. I say good diner steak. The vegetable de jour was a mix of onions, squash, carrots and peppers. The corn was a full piece on the Cobb. We also had butter toffee cake. I would say for a place with Kocktails in their name, need to up their ice game. Cool place; would come again! read more

Met up with a group of new friends for a social hour at Blancos. Because we were a private party they had us seated in a private room in the back. Nice space to have a dinner party for about 20 if you wanted. Customer service was good, music on point and the aesthetics just made you want to kick back and spend all your money. I ordered the curry chicken salad and Hennessy Red for my cocktail. When I tell you they owe me nothing I mean it. That salad was AMAZING. I can't get back soon enough to order it again. All the components of the salad go well together. Spring mix topped with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, sweet plantains and a curry chicken salad. It came with some type of apple cider vinegar dressing on the side that was chefs kiss. My henny red was so smooth. I mean they really knew what they were doing over there. Heard about this spot and it's been on my list. Visited recently for brunch during Restaurant Week with friends. We had a great time! Our server, Myron, was very friendly and helpful. Mikayla was also very pleasant. The hostess whose name I didn't catch was such a pleasure. Parking was a little tight especially following the snow storm. I ended up in a garage just across the street that is $7 on weekends, so not bad. The restaurant Week menu included a peach bellini or a mimosa, an entree and the sweet potato cheesecake. I really enjoyed the bellini. I did the salmon hash which was just ok. The sweet potato cheesecake was good but I won't be pressed to get it now again. I would be back for the regular brunch menu which includes unlimited mimosas for $25! Sounds like a steal! The happy hour specials look great. Been here twice in the past week. The fried catfish is sooooo good. Nice and lightly battered. Both times we did carry-out but I want to go back for their brunch and/or happy hour. The only thing I didn't like was the buffalo shrimp, tasted like shrimp with buffalo sauce, too much sauce, overpowered the shrimp. The mac 'n cheese, fries and plantains were good too. The plantains were cooked well but I didn't taste any spice on them. Looks nice and chill on the inside of the restaurant, has a nice bar area too. Blanco's was quite a great time. I came in on a Friday night and it was bustling. The first thing I noticed was that the DJ was doing his thing--the music was amazing (though on the louder side so you may have to ask companions to repeat themselves). Also of note was the service. The waiter noticed that our table was rickety and placed a stopper beneath it, our drinks stayed filled, and, with each course coming out more slowly than we expected, communicated clearly about the delays. The food was mostly good. The salmon and pasta were presented well though it felt like they were less than the sum of their parts. Some creole seasoning would've made the pasta incredible. The tomato soup (soup of the day) was savory and hearty while the spinach salad was perfection. The ingredients complemented one another quite well and the dressing was heavenly. We didn't get a chance to try out their bread pudding (we'd heard great things) but the brownie was outstanding. I will most certainly come back! 8.5/10 read more

First, the food was delicious! 10/10. The service, impeccable! We had a lunch party of 10 and they accompanied us quite well. We had to play a bit of musical chairs but only so we could have some privacy and experience the intended vibe of the restaurant. It's new, so they have some bugs to work out but whatever we needed, they provided. The entire kitchen seemed to come to us when we needed something which was beautiful! We spent time getting to know the Chef (soooo so sweet) and that was much appreciated. He provided a summary of the intentions of the menu, and invited us to return once their alcohol license is approved. This spot will be a vibe, I can already tell. I went to blanco kitchen and kocktails & everything about this restaurant was amazing. When you look on the menu it can get a bit overwhelming because everything sounds so good you want to order everything! I ended up ordering from the brunch menu and got shrimp & grits with an espresso Martini and mimosa. Our server was very kind & made sure my friend had been taken care of since she graduated from college. I would recommend this restaurant for a sexy date night, brunch with the girlies, AND for family after events. read more

First of all the playlist was amazing. It was a mix of R&B songs, but they were remixed with other genres. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entrées. The short rib Ramen needed a little bit of salt, but once a few granules of salt were sprinkled on it it was perfection. Three people ordered the rum punch, and they all wholeheartedly agreed that it was very, very, very strong. Our waitress was very good and accommodating. I didn't really like that I had to go all the way downstairs and the back of the building to use the bathroom, but it was very spacious and clean in there. I saw this place on Instagram and was excited to give it a try. I had a reservation for 1:00 p.m. and arrived at 12:58, but I wasn't seated until around 1:10. The restaurant is relatively small and wasn't crowded, yet there was no host at the entrance. Several guests who arrived after us eventually seated themselves. After being seated, my family and I waited another 10-15 minutes without anyone taking our order. There appeared to be only one person working the dining area, and he was handling everything--from managing the bar and distributing menus to taking orders--while the rest of the staff remained in the kitchen. Since we were hungry and had somewhere to be by 3:00 p.m., we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to try the food, even though I had been looking forward to brunch. The only thing I received was a glass of water, which was fine. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if timely and attentive service is important to you. We ended up going to Miss Toya's in Baltimore, where we were seated promptly and received our food quickly. I would only consider returning if the restaurant improves its staffing and customer service. BOB- Nice small and intimate place. I sat at the bar and was greeted with a warm welcome by the bartender Yaz. She gave us her recommendations and we went off that. We ordered catfish, buffalo shrimp and mac&cheese. The fish and shrimp were great (I forgot to take a pic), but the mac didn't come out until we were well done with our food and we actually forgot about it. But they were fine with us sending it back. Was in town for a concert & wanted a brunch spot. Reviews weren't bad & took a chance. 1. The entrance/ main area is tight. When we were taken to our seat in the back, passed the kitchen & saw MAD tickets that were waiting to be worked. Once we got inside to check in, we were asked to give the hostess a minute so she could clean off the table (no problem). Long story short he was kind enough to make us his phenomenal Chef Davon Ziggy Pasta is a MUST! Soo delicious and flavorful..for appetizers we had the catfish tenders super juicy and flavorful, along with the spinach salad, and the curry chicken. Their brunch menu is to die for (served until 3pm on weekends). I had the Krusty Krab - it was a Cajun themed crab cake (a marvelous crab cake) with a fried green tomato and eggs Benedict on top of an English muffin. Wow was this ever the best combo. Management is horrible. Food was edible, although the collard greens were way too salty. Most of our food came out cold. They were not happy about accommodating us. The bacon and the sausage was over cooked, the fried lobster was bland, the drinks were horrible. There were 17 women in our party needless to say none of us will EVER be returning to this black establishment because of the way we were treated. Shay was the best part of our experience. The manager was rude to someone in my party because she wanted her pancakes hot and I guess she told her boss the owner. So a few moments later we were informed that we could not order anything else as if we would and we basically needed to leave. Aren't we entitled to hot food. My dad had the BBQ shrimp and it was so good he tried to analyze the sauce to replicate it at home . My mom had the garden salad with the grilled chicken protein option and it was made with love. We celebrated our 44th Anniversary there today. I got the lamb chops. They were delicious and my husband had the steak. He said it was so tender he could cut it with a fork. The food was delicious. The wait staff was cordial and welcoming and it's a nice cozy spot with great music. We are thinking of stopping through again just for drinks and an appetizer. read more
