Blow Out and Make up- Eyes Only
    Elise C.

I stopped by to get my hair done for my friends wedding, and I was so happy with the final product! I highly recommend this salon for two reasons: 1) they do beautiful work, and 2) they go above and beyond. My hair was absolutely gorgeous, and my curls stayed in for 10+ hours. And what really set this salon above the rest is that they want you to leave feeling the prettiest. And your best self. So I went in immediately after getting my makeup done, and it wasn't quite what I wanted. So I asked the makeup artist, Phillip, for some tips for when I go home to fix it a bit. He so kindly offered to help me out and squeeze me in during his break. He ended up doing my makeup and giving me exactly what I was envisioning! Phillip is amazing at his craft, and a great human. Huge thanks to Blast Blow Dry Bar for making me look amazing for my friends wedding!

I went to Blast Blowdry Bar off 34th Street for the second time ever, both visits were right before a family photo session and each time they delivered beautiful styles that I could not have done myself - in a very timely manner. The salon is gorgeously decorated and feels-smells so clean. They offer drinks and are very kind people. I think I'm going to start finding more excuses to have my hair styled here more often! Thank you for making my hair perfect for the occasion (hair piece purchased at RedDress.com).

Bee (sp?) did this and I soooo love it! Exactly what I wanted. Jan. 24th, 2014.

I am PICKY about my hair. I have unruly thick naturally curly hair and when I received a last minute invite to the Dell Hospital Gala I was officially worried about what I could do with it on short notice. I wanted an Up do... but not an uptight do, nothing too severe, or overly prom-ish, nor overly messy. I wanted it to look effortless but elegant... but obviously NOT effortless. Confused? Exactly. So I brought THREE pinterest looks that I thought would work. Having read the reviews below I was fully worried. Bee did my hair. IT WAS SO AMAZING I STILL CAN HARDLY STAND IT. SO beautiful. So elegant but NOT overdone... it was pure heaven. I received compliment after compliment on my Do but WAY MORE IMPORTANTLY... I loved it dearly. So much so that I took a selfie to make sure I have photo evidence to help her remember the next time I need it done. I blame a decade in NYC for spoiling me. Or perhaps too many mediocre blow outs in Austin. Or maybe I'm just a touch difficult. Whatever the deal - I do not give out 5 stars lightly but wholeheartedly recommend you ask for Bee at Blast Blowdry Bar.

JESSICA E is amazing!! She's very sweet and makes you look beautiful. Go book with them! Philip also does great make up.

I told Philip that I normally do not wear much makeup other than eyeliner and neutral lip gloss.

I frequent the Drybar Downtown pretty often (it's my home base now) and I've always been so happy with my experience and the stylists I've worked with. Deceptive Double Charges, Falsified Policies, and Consumer Fraud - AVOID…read more This location is actively engaging in unconscionable business practices, hidden fees, and violating Texas Consumer Protection laws. Members of my family had appointments here that totaled over $700. The shop manager, Jaileene, along with an employee named Molly, purposely concealed pricing, ran up unauthorized and fraudulent double charges, and lied about the system being down to flatly refuse a lawful refund while actively keeping the physical products and their money. 1. Fraudulent Double Charges & Extended Fees:They ran multiple double charges on their account and tacked on two separate $30 "extended time fees" (totaling an extra $60), falsely claiming the appointments went over. The official receipt timestamps directly disprove this. In reality, the services finished 15 minutes under the standard time allocated for the appointments. They ran unauthorized transactions on the card for time never used, charging for services that were never rendered, and flat-out doubled the billing without consent. 2. Refusal of Product Refunds & Deliberate Deception: They attempted to return an unopened $147 pillowcase and a $110 turban within the window printed on the receipt. Molly outright lied, claiming the receipt said no refunds, and Jaileene explicitly confirmed her lie. My family trusted them at the time, but after reviewing the receipt, it clearly stated that the products were refundable (unopened refund 31 days after purchase). They deliberately lied about the corporate return policy to manipulate time constraints for their travel back to Georgia. Furthermore, for the products they openly agreed to refund, they took the merchandise back into store inventory but then refused to process the card refund, falsely claiming the "system was down" to deny the credit reversal. Their credit card system was clearly not down because they actively continued to process purchases for other customers right in front of them. They used a fake outage as an excuse to steal the merchandise and withhold their money. 3. Weaponizing Out-of-State Residency: They knew members of my family live out of state and were under extreme time duress. They tried to trap the money by forcing a localized Texas store credit, fully aware that a Texas franchise credit is completely worthless out of state. They used a fake system outage to stall so they would have to leave the state empty-handed. 4. Fraudulent Billing and Refusal to Deal with Local Representatives: After running up fraudulent double billing for extended fees and lying about the system to refuse a refund, management has gone completely silent. Multiple calls were completely ignored. When Molly finally called back, she stated they would only speak to the niece who is currently out of state--completely ignoring the fact that she gave explicit verbal permission to a local family member in Georgetown, Texas to resolve the issue. Both Molly and Jaileene have completely refused to return calls since that authorized family member took over. It is a deliberate effort to duck accountability. Please do your research and read reviews on internet sites before coming here; looking at other reviews, this is a systemic, calculated pattern of deceptive trade practices at this specific downtown shop. The fraudulent billing and theft of property has been escalated directly to the WellBiz Brands Corporate Legal Department in Denver, and formal fraud complaints are being filed with the Office of the Texas Attorney General (OAG) and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Do not trust Jaileene, Molly, or this franchise location with your credit card. They will double-charge your card, hide their prices, and steal your money.

That convenience makes such a difference for me. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and punctual. The styling chairs are comfortable, which is a huge plus. My only complaint inside the salon is the waiting area. The bench isn't very comfortable, so it's not much fun for my husband when he waits for me. On my last visit, Meredith was my stylist, and she was fantastic. She really listened to what I wanted, our conversation was easy and enjoyable, and my hair turned out exactly how I hoped. I'll definitely be requesting her from now on! My only other complaint is the location. I have to drive all the way to Cedar Park or South Austin since they closed their north location. I really hope they reopen one in North Austin, just not at The Domain. Parking in garages down the street is a hassle, especially when there are much more convenient locations available.

I had…read morerecently cut my hair to a length I'm still getting used to styling, so I was really looking forward to being pampered and learning a few style tips in the process. I booked online and even added the deep conditioning treatment and head massage because I wanted the full experience. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of my expectations. When I arrived, there was no greeting or welcome, just someone eventually looking up to check me in. The waiting benches were also surprisingly uncomfortable, with the window ledges digging into my back. Once I was taken back, there was almost no communication. No "Is this your first time here?", no explanation of the process, no confirmation of the services I'd booked, and not even a quick check that the water temperature was comfortable. I also wasn't turned toward the mirror during the service, so I couldn't even see what was being done. The salon was unusually quiet overall, with very little interaction between stylists and clients, which made the atmosphere feel a bit impersonal. To make matters worse, my stylist realized only at checkout that she had forgotten to perform both of the add-on services I had paid for. She did issue me a credit after speaking with her manager, but since I had booked those services specifically for that visit, a future credit didn't really make up for the missed experience. The blowout itself was perfectly fine, but that's only part of why people book appointments like this. Most people can dry their own hair at home; the value is in feeling cared for, relaxed, and a little spoiled. I walked in excited for a special treat after a difficult few weeks and walked out feeling more disappointed than refreshed.

So I was excited when she invited me today! And now I am hooked. When we arrived the reception area was a little busy but I was greeted within a few minutes and the receptionist were super friendly. I waited about 12 minutes for my stylist to come get me from the waiting area. We started off with my hair being brushed and then we went to the washing bay where my stylist washed my hair and massaged my scalp. It felt so good!!! You can do an add-on, 15-minute massage, but you need to book that when you make the reservation. When she was done washing we went to the dry bar area and my stylist brought me a water and a small glass of champagne Your stylist will then style your hair based on the signature style you most like. I did a combination of Cosmo in Southern comfort. It looks so nice!! She did exactly what I asked for . I cannot wait to go back. I just wish there was a location closer to Georgetown. That's definitely a franchise investment opportunity. But until then, I will be making some frequent trips to the domain.
