I would've rated this place a 5, but the employees. Was here on 2/9/19. First of all: Being from out of state, I ordered just a one topping. I told the girl there at the counter, and she said okay, she was really nice, trying to explain if I wanted any salads with my pizza, & I said alright. She was explaining the size of salads & then she accidentally touched the salad next to her with her bare hands. I get it, it was a complete accident, but she did not throw it away! She still decided to give the salad like that, and give it to the person who ordered it. I was in shock, all because she did not want to put salad in a different container. Imagine if that's what they do in front of customers, I can only imagine behind close doors. Second of all, I moved to the next young guy who was putting toppings on my pizza and he was so rude. I wish i would've remembered his name, but he was blonde, & had an apple watch I believe. He put the cheese and whatever then I asked for pepperoni, and he said anything else? & I know I had only ordered the 1 topping, but I wanted more toppings. Which in my eyes shouldn't have been a problem, I had-not paid for the pizza yet, he could've put the topping I wanted and then charged me more at the register. The pizza was barely going to go in the oven. He automatically cut me off before I could speak & said well you only had the one topping, you already picked pepperoni, in the most rude obnoxious voice, and my pizza was then transferred to the man putting the pizzas in oven. That man then touched someone else's pizza with no gloves. Now if that's what they do in front of customers, imagine in closed doors.. Luckily the cashier was nice, & the pizza was good. It's just the staff. Maybe they're way too young, & don't really care. I get it, but please don't touch other people's food. Even if it's an honest accident. Throw it away. Craving pizza but needing the convenience and customization of Chipotle? Blaze is the place to go! Blaze has a couple signature pizzas, but you can also build your own. They're all 12" and 6 slices. This one is relatively new and the staff was super helpful walking us through the process. I got the White Top signature pizza, but honestly felt like it was a little bland. I think if I got it again I'd have to look more closely at how I could personalize it to give it some stronger flavors. They had a couple really delicious looking salads but the last thing I needed was more food. The pizza came out really quickly, and you can't beat how fresh it was. They have shakers of oregano, Parmesan, and peppers, as well as some bottles of Sriracha for you to take to your table. They have a couple different beers on tap and bottled (local like Marble, craft like Firestone Walker), soda, and some really delicious looking lemonades. Plenty of seating, and spaces for big groups as well as just a couple friends. Outdoor seating with some cute lights is also available. I think it's a great concept for a pizza place, and am excited to get more adventurous with my pizza topping choices as I come back in the future! read more

This is a really cool pizza place. You pretty much make your own pizza by telling them what you want on it and it's all right there in front of you. The people were very nice and friendly patient and helpful. The food was really good the ice tea was even better only thing I wasn't crazy about were the cups for your drinks. Not the worst pizza but not the greatest either. Our second time ordering from Blaze and both times they were out of something, we appreciated the heads up at least. Customer service was good, and our order was ready pretty quickly, but the quality of the pizza was ehh. I got chicken on one of the pizzas. I am probably a little picky when it comes to chicken - but it tasted like the kind that comes from a can I also don't recommend the roasted garlic topping as it did not look roasted, but like it came from a jar. The garlic bread was yummy though and I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie. We went on a Friday at 1, to avoid the lunch rush. Good move, as parking is insane. Found a spot to park. Blaze was not so busy; ordering took no time at all. The cashier came from the register to take our order. Staff are friendly. Partner and I like a chewy crust: Both opted for high rise-extra dough for $2.00 per pie. Partner got The Link In Pizza with Italian Sausage, Roasted Red Pepper and Sautéed Onion. I opted for The Meat Eater, with Pepperoni, Meatballs and Red Onion. Both pies were delicious and very different. My only, very small complaint is that I would've like more red onion on my pizza. The Sausage and Pepperoni were good. The sauce is good. The crust is good. Truly an experience where the sum of the parts are amazing!!! Let me not forget The Beverages...I'm someone who can go for months without a soda; I usually order water. I got a lunch special, drink and a 1 topping pizza. Ordered pepperoni. It was alright, nothing special. Bottom was a little charred. I thought it was spicy, but not too bad. Got curbside delivery, they poured the Coke into a weird plastic cup with a hole in the plastic lid, no straw. Seriously looked like a men's urinal type of cup. There is nothing better than going to a restaurant and the entire place is sparkling clean. The high ceilings gave the feeling of easy to breathe and uncongested. Gluten-free is an option here! The build your own pizza is the way to go. For about eight dollars you can get a pizza with unlimited toppings. I got a little gluttonous and ordered so many toppings that the mushrooms didn't cook all the way and were spongy which was gross. I was able to easily pick those off without it affecting the taste of my pizza. Because of the temp and speed at which the pizzas cook, it is also wise not to order too many toppings unless you want some of them to be lukewarm with a touch of cold. Either way, the pizza was delicious. I wish that I had not ordered my own because I was unable to eat the entire thing. The garlic knots are to die for. They are made of seasoned dough rolled up like a cinnamon roll with cheese filling. Too. Good. I don't know if it was the fact that this restaurant is in New Mexico (which has the friendliest people) or just that the people were nice in general, but it made the experience even better. Get grossed out, but I salt my pizza. Yeah, that's right. Salt. And. More. Salt. If you are a salter like me, you'll have to go up and ask for packets because there are not any at the condiment stand. We just need one of these closer to home. Lack of consistency! Today was a letdown. We brought a close friend here because we thought that it would be a good treat but the staff simple rushed our orders through carelessly. As an example, when I told the employee that they took my pizza and just threw it in the oven before I had finished telling them which toppings I wanted on it, they just shrugged their shoulders and gave me an empty look. I asked them to have the baker pull it out of the oven and they once again looked at me with a blank look and just stood there staring at me. I was worried about backing up the other customers that were behind me so I just paid for the half completed order so we could just spend some time with out good friend. Since this was after the lunch crowd dissipated, the place was empty so we sat and chatted from 1 PM to 3PM. AT no time did anyone walk around and check on us nor did they clear the tables. After 1:30 PM we were practically the only ones there, the place was pretty much empty so there was no reason to be ignored for hours. When we cleared our own table then one employee scurried over to ask if they could take the trays away. We sat back down for a moment to say goodbye and when we stop up another employee scurried over to "clear our table" which was already cleared out but a minute before. The pattern I see here is a lack of consistency. When they get it right, its good but they get sloppy and careless too often, delivering inconsistent results. Do not order take out or pick up. The value and quality isn't there at all. Only get the pizza when you can stand there and make sure they make it how you want it. I can't count how many times we have been to a blaze pizza in the last 6 months and we really enjoyed it every time. Some times in the Albaquerque location the employees are a little rude or don't quite know what they are doing but really for the price it wasn't an issue. We also enjoyed the left overs heated up at home so todayI thought I would be clever and pick up 4 pizzas on my drive home this afternoon to heat up for dinner later. Well, first when I came to pick them up they tried to give me 3 pizzas and I ordered 4. But second is the real problem. The toppings were so sparse it was a total waste of money. $5 Grocery store frozen pizzas have more toppings. Even the cheese and sauce was barely there. My husband mentioned when we were eating it that when we get our pizzas in person we can ask them to put more on but we realized we have never had to do that. In the last 6 months we have been to Blaze in Scottsdale, Palm Springs and Utah in addition to both Albaquerque locations and we never experienced any inconsistency or problems but this was such a very disappointing visit and I notice other reviews on delivery that are bad too. read more

My husband and I wish to thank Tyler at the Holly location. He took care of a complicated issue for us. Due to the Menaul location not having any Keto crust, one of the managers there was supposed to send our order to the Holly location. They never received it. I spoke with Tyler and explained the rest of our issue, which I won't discuss here. He graciously listened, said he would take care of everything. He must have gotten the ok and proceeded to get our pizza going and offered us drinks while we waited. He came and let us know when the pizza was almost ready, then came back to bring it to us. He apologized several times for all the previous problems. He was extremely courteous and kind and did not seem bothered or inconvenienced in any way, but instead was kind and wanted to resolve everything, which he did. Thank you Tyler and Blaze Pizza! Incredible customer service.... Someone else from Blaze at the Holly location, came and asked us if our pizza/everything was okay. We may just drive farther to get pizza at this location. PS. Alright, I have now been to Blaze three times and I can honestly say it will become a regular for my husband and me. Maybe it's not Chicago-style, or maybe it's not New York-style...all I know is that I have had three good pizzas that were extremely tasty, even when reheated or eaten cold and THAT, for me, is my test for a good pizza!! Now, before you say, is that all they have?!! Let me also assure you they have salads, of which I have sampled two, that are surprisingly lovely for a fast pizza place. The fresh arugula, fruit, and goat cheese with a balsamic glaze is wondrous on its own, but paired with a ham, pineapple, green chile pizza with a spicy red sauce knocked it out of the park for me! The tomato & mozzarella salad with roasted red peppers is not your usual run of the mill salad, not by any stretch of the imagination!! The mozzarella is fresh balls of cheese...white, creamy, firm balls of glorious cheese...which I once again asked for the balsamic glaze to accompany. I have paired this salad with a pepperoni, mushroom, roasted red pepper, fresh roasted whole garlic cloves...which I highly recommend...green chile pizza with the spicy red sauce. So, they serve pizzas AND salads...that's it!! Okay, a couple of desserts and beer, but I have not bothered with those...yet! I really love this concept. It's like a Chipotle or a subway but you build your own pizza. One size. You can choose from signature pizzas or build your own. They have Gluten free crust and vegan cheese. Delicious fresh toppings. Then they slide it in the oven and call you when it's ready. You can build a pizza with as many toppings as you want for 7.95. Kind of a typical franchise, in that the food quality is not the best. Half way through my salad (which was very difficult to customize without cheese) I realized the lettuce was covered in a lettuce "slime". A nice young lady offered to get me lettuce directly from the prep container since it didn't have toppings on it. The pizza was so-so and the restaurant was freezing cold. I didn't like that you had to get up for napkins, utensils and even crushed pepper. Everything is stationed and you even have to clear your own plate. The reason for my 4 star rating is because of the super loud music. It was hard to hear who's order was up. Another thing was the line of workers that were making the pizza had their hair out from under their hats. I am all for a laid back atmosphere but I also don't want any food on my pizza. This burnt cracker has the audacity to call itself a pizza. It's been 2 hours and I still can't get the taste out from that minefield of spoonfuls of minced garlic placed around my pie. I am not biased at all, by that I mean, I don't like Lebron. (Lebron was an original investor in this chain) So now that we have that our there, I loved this pizza and I loved the experience. The great part about the menu is that you can make your own pizza and once you go past 3 toppings you can put as many as you'd like on. I also tried a pizza that was on the menu, the Art Lover. Both of them were to die for. I am actually upset with myself that I don't go there enough. The staff was very friendly. We asked them if they would warm up our brownie and cookie in the oven as we neared the end of our pizza. And they were happy to do so. Just as a heads up, the parking lot is very busy at lunch time, I think it's because Hope Christian across the street, had their lunch break as well. We have being going to Blaze for years whenever we are out of town and have always loved it. We were excited to hear it was coming to town and a bit nervous that we wouldn't experience the same deliciousness or service. For those who don't know - it's a create your own pizza type place. You go through the line and pick crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, etc.... it can be a little overwhelming if you have never been so go with a plan in mind. The service at this location is great and everyone was super helpful and friendly. The only ding was that I had to practically beg for toppings - I got a chicken pesto pizza and on one slice I literally only had one piece of chicken and this is after me asking for more!! I am glad Blaze is in town and will be returning for it's yummy goodness ..... but when I return don't make me beg for those toppings!! read more

Apparently neither of the Blaze locations in Albuquerque are capable of pressing the GF crust options fresh anymore. When I asked about it I was given the BS line of: "we press them fresh every morning". Sure. The last couple 'freshly pressed this morning' crusts I've gotten here have tasted like they have been there a minute and the texture is not the same. My family loves Blaze pizza and have spent about a million dollars (give or take) at this location. My favorite part is that if you order a "build your own" while you watch them make it to order if they're at all stingy with an ingredient you just politely ask for more and voilà you end up with a delicious pizza! HOWEVER, if the oven is not cleaned frequently the bottom of the pizza can be charred, which is very unappetizing and ruins the whole pizza. Such was the case today when my family visited! Had the manager just said there was a new cook and apologized with remade pizzas that would've been fine! But noooooo, I received the dumb downed version explaining that it WASN'T burnt and that's how their pizza is cooked. It wasn't burnt. Shift leader said it would be no different if she remade them, which she did, with an attitude as if they were going to take the cost of remaking them out of her paycheck. I could clearly see the stuck charred remains on the stove bottom and heard the manager instruct the cook on how to scrape the stove. Then when the two remade ones came out of the oven (supposed to be three but hey some of us are bad at math) manager smugly asked how they looked- beautiful JUST like the other ones did on the TOP! If I would've had my x-ray vision glasses on I could have seen that the bottom of the crust was perfect too!! It was a Sunday miracle- clean the oven- make great pizza!
