The Corrales location has great ambiance to whereas the La Orilla location is in a leased strip mall. We always order a large Pepperoni pizza with a large Caesar salad and it easily serves 4-6 people. Cost is currently around $30.00 which comes out to ~$8.00/person. Very reasonable. The other day we went to Village Pizza on Coors and I ordered a personal pizza with Italian sausage, mushrooms and bell peppers and what a disappointment. The crust was like cardboard the sauce was flavorless and the Italian sausage didn't taste like Italian sausage no flavor no spices and it had the consistency of tiny burnt dry granules. We decided to give village pizza a try for lunch. We ordered the soup as it had been a while. I had it many years ago when they had it on a buffet. I remembered it being so amazing. Today it was such a let down. The soup was not creamy but reminded me of someone not using enough water. It had huge chunks of onion that tasted raw and no chicken. We did let the staff know. The pizza we got was the village combo. It was loaded with lots of veggies and meat. The staff were very kind and apologetic about the soup. She said they did not change the recipe that she knew of. WOW! I had heard great reviews about village... and had been to the one in corralles in the past... but didn't really remember it as being standout... not the case for this visit! We walked in to a great wide open space with great lighting and a good vibe! It was a weekend so there was a lot of couples and families! We took a moment to look over the menu and then went up to the counter to order. The woman at the counter was very upbeat, friendly, and quick to help. We ordered pizza, wings, salad, and drinks.... All for a very reasonable price. The food came out hot, quick, and man... the pizza was not lacking on toppings! Most places really skimp on toppings... not the case here! Really good local, family owned pizza place. We were traveling with our small dog and looked for a lunch spot with a dog friendly patio and the Village Pizza warmly welcomed us. Ended up ordering a medium pizza (half Hawaiian and half pepperoni $21) to share. It was very good! The crust was delicious - nice and crusty on the outside, soft inside, perfect thickness and chew. The sauce was also super flavorful. Service was friendly (thanks Lacey!) and efficient and the patio was beautiful and clean. Really loved the gated off artificial turf area for our small dog to run around and enjoy. Bonus, this location also has a drive thru pizza window! I told them I did not want celery and guess what? I got mostly celery. And I'm allergic to Roma tomatoes and my veggie plate was mostly tomatoes. The garlic twisty bread that came with it was awesome. Our salad was fresh and crisp. All in all, it was what we were looking for, quick, good, close by. My only wonder is: why don't you have Parmesan in a shaker at the table (or fresh shaved?). I was looking and could not find it anywhere. If I could give this place more stars, I would. Me and my sister stopped in yesterday to get a quick bite on our travels. The gentleman behind the counter.I didn't get his name was amazing! Not only was his customer service above and beyond, but he was very helpful. He gave us a couple ideas of what we could do around town since we're not from here. The food didn't take super long to come out and was some of the best pizza have ever tasted. The soup was such a good flavor and hot. I would definitely recommend this place. Meh. I'm a big fan of the Corrales location so when this location opened up in Albuquerque I was expecting the same, charming, yummy experience... but it is very different. The buffet is very small and hasn't been available each time we've come for dinner. The seating area is nice and new but a bit uncomfortable. We liked that there were board games available, it kept us busy waiting about 30 minutes for our order to come out. The pizza was reminiscent of the original location's and the salad bar was decent. Our favorites were the wings and the bread sticks. Overall, it's a good location and the food is ok but I'm likely going to stick to the original. read more
