If I could leave zero stars I would. This was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I ordered a Sicilian, it was supposed to have Capicola ham, shaved Parmesan, fresh basil, and wild Greek oregano. It only had a few slices of pepperoni and sausage. Hardly any sauce, and the Cobb salad was missing eggs and fresh basil, and the lettuce was turning brown. I feel that the quality of the food has really diminished here. Service was also minimal on our visit on a Saturday evening. I ordered the half steak salad that came with 5 bites of very chewy steak and some greens. At nearly $25 I expected better. Other orders in our party was the steak entree which was also very chewy and unpleasant. Cheese pizza was very doughy. The bread and "olive oil" that were complimentary did not taste at all like olive oil. Either it was the cheapest olive oil that could be found or canola oil. Stopped in for a quick dinner while in town for work and left before even ordering food. I sat at the bar and waited what felt like forever to be acknowledged and offered a drink, despite there being 2 bartenders working and only 2 other guests sitting at bar (and an almost empty restaurant). I ordered a beer and looked over the menu for a few minutes and then watched someone who I think was the manager walking near the food pickup area while he was actively coughing and touching his face and then grabbing food to take to tables. This is the first time I sat at their bar instead of a table or booth and I loved it! The bar has limited seating so don't be disappointed if there's no space immediately. Sitting at the bar, we got served almost immediately unlike at the tables though mostly all of the wait staff are great! Our wait person had much on her hands. She managed the register, the kitchen and patrons at the bar. She was dyno-mite! I love their soups which are the usual so I ordered the two in a bowl and a special limited time only, shishito peppers. Just perfect! Get them while they last! From now on, I'm sitting at the bar! There is one consistent problem though, the persons who do the seating up front. They're young, lacking welcoming personalities, rarely there to seat guests and don't look or act like they want to be there. Oddly, it's the same with everyone who works that position. We went to California Pizza Kitchen today because we were in the ABQ Uptown area and we had a free appetizer card given to us by a manager from a previous visit. We wanted to get the avocado egg rolls but the waitress said we could not use the card for that even though there were no restrictions listed on the card. Also, and more importantly, the restaurant was filthy! The tiles at the entrance were dirty and had debris, the carpet is very worn and many tables hadn't been cleaned. And the tables that had been cleaned had food left on the chairs. There were several tables that were not serviced the whole time we were there. We were there between 2:30-3:30 in the afternoon and it was not busy. Also, there is a large flat surface in the center of the restaurant that has a layer of dust on it. If this is what the front of the restaurant looks like, it makes me wonder what is happening in the back? read more

We haven't been to CPK in a long time. Probably pre-Covid. We came at 4pm on Monday after a doctor appointment in Albuquerque. It was not busy but we had to wait a few minutes for a table because they had limited staff. We had the Sicilian pizza and Italian chopped salad. We split both and had a nice dinner. The pizza was very good and came out nice and hot. The salad was full of flavor and made fresh. The crust was really good and we saved a few pizza bones for our dogs. They love pizza bones. The decor is just like it was before. Nice and open with a California theme. I also noticed that CPK will do fundraisers. I will share that with our scout group. I hadn't been here in forever and was really craving their BBQ chicken pizza so I had to go back and check it out. Sat at a booth not far from the door which was nice and comfy. Our sever was great and was good about making sure the drink refills kept coming. The food came out pretty quickly and was just as good as I remembered. The portions are big enough to be a meal if you're super hungry or for leftovers and lunch the next day if not. The pizza does warm up quite well, though I recommend something other than the microwave! It came get pretty crowded here on the weekends, uptown is a popular location, but it's worth coming by for a tasty pizza. I also really enjoy their salads but didn't have one this time. My husband is a disabled veteran that was denied use of their restroom. He was actually chased across the restaurant by the hostess who started yelling at him. So he called the general manager, Tony, who proceeded to tell him he didn't care that he is a disabled veteran, that nobody enforces those rules and that he would have yelled at him worse than the hostess did. We actually currently have a case with the ADA with the Apple Store across the street for the very same reason. They definitely adhered to social distancing standards, and I love their huge booth seating and tables. I was so excited to try CPK after so long! I was motivated to come back for my rewards promotion for a ($10 off of $50) food and non-alcohol. CPK's ambience is still pretty nice for a date night. Service is deligent, relaxing and accommodating. We ordered an appetizer, teriyaki dumplings (6) ($9.95), which we asked for extra sauce for our pizza crust. Their pizza crust is a winner, thin and crispy! I always enjoy a brick oven cooked anything. We got 2 pizzas: the Works and Shrimp Scampi. Both were so yummy! First time at this CPK and a long time since I have been to one to be honest. The menu had changed as far as Appetizers and such. The main draw was that they now make their Signature barbecue chicken pizza with plant-based vegetarian chicken and the reason for the visit. Our server said we were the first of her customers to order the pizza and was very curious to know our thoughts. We got a corn salsa with chips on the small bite list that I forgot to snag a picture of before the husband dove in. It was ok nothing amazing and probably would not order it again. Left with more chips than dip. The Complementary bread and olive oil and herbs it was delicious and not bad for being free. Ok now to the pizza! It was really good, even my husband thought it was good and said he liked it better then the other pizza he got that had real chicken on it. They Shredded the chicken on the pizza and it look like it was real. Same great flavor as the normal barbecue chicken pizza according to my husband. I was impressed and thought it was really good. So for my fellow Vegetarian peeps know that they will also substitute the plant-based chicken on any of their pizzas at CPK. So if you're not into barbecue you can ask them to put it on any of their pizzas! How cool! I love this being that I love pizza. Usually I'm hungry after eating a veggie pizza because really the only thing that has protein much protein is the cheese and that's not enough protein, especially if you work out like I do. So having a plant-based chicken option is amazing and I came away feeling full and satisfied. Our service was also really great we got in for dine in right before the shelter in place order came in. Our server was super friendly, quick, and had a really great positive attitude which was really nice and added to the experience. We are visiting for the Boots in the Park concert, and had a few moments to spare, found CPK on Q Street, and have to say they were amazing. We sat the bar watching manager Tony, be a true leader, taking the time to talk with guest and his employees and getting to know them and about them. Alex was a very helpful and friendly server also. Customer service is really hard to find now days, but they do a great job at keeping the workers motivated and in a positive environment, which made for a very pleasant experience! The bread and oil dip was a perfect appetizer before the meal. I had the full size Cesar Salad and added Grilled Chicken. The dressing was really creamy and had just the perfect amount. The chicken breast had a wonderful flavor and wasn't dried out. My fiancé had the lunch combo Spaghetti with a side Cesar Salad. She said the spaghetti was amazing. Highly disappointed in my visit today afternoon of 6/18/2024 If I could give this no stars I would! Upon entering the restaurant there were at least 10 tables that were dirty and needed to be bussed. These tables literally sat dirty for my entire visit. Gross!!! Although we were seated right away it's took over 15 mins for someone to even acknowledge us and take our drink order. Our server was just ok and did apologize for the wait but wasn't really all that friendly. We did not have place settings or napkins when the food was brought out and the food was subpar. The chicken on my salad was cold with no flavor. The restroom was filthy with an overflowing garbage can toilet paper and paper towels all over the floor. Disgusting! Honestly I don't plan on returning to this location. The restaurant was dirty and staff didn't seem to care. Which is saying a lot because literally every type of restaurant cuisine is located here..so the competition is stiff. You have to be good to stay busy and have regular visitors.
