    BBQ chicken and cheese pizzas.
    Julie R.

I've been here probably every 2-3 weeks or so, over the last few months. Street parking is hard to get here, so I do the carry out, usually on Sundays. I've come to really enjoy the pizzas from here. Yesterday, I got a single size double pepperoni and cheese bread. The pizza was really good. Very filling. So, later, when I was trying the cheesy bread, which was room temperature, it had a "pull". It was uncooked in the middle. This is the first time, after getting orders here DOZENS of times, that I've ever had any issue. I called the store and customer service was stellar. This place might become my weekly Sunday take out place. I add arugula to all my pizzas, so I can call it a salad. As for yesterday's pizza, I had the pesto sauce as the base, with the pepperoni, garlic, more garlic, balsamic vinegar, pesto and ranch drizzles with that arugula. It was SOOO good! Street parking here. Friendly staff. The place was really busy(winning home football game weekend). MarcyDiner'sTantrumScale 5/5- NoScreamingKids. CyHawkApproved. Excellent pizza! Delicious and chewy crust! Loved coming here and is honestly the best pizza place in Ames!

The food was delicious! We ordered the dough knots and 2 pizzas and had a whole pizza leftover (2 adults and a 1yo). There are a couple high chairs and the musc was loud enough, but not obnoxious, that it didn't matter when the toddler yelled. The staff was also very nice. We visited over the summer and were able to park about a block away (behind) at a meter. I would have bothered trying during the school year. The broccoli would've been way easier to eat if it was cut smaller and the edges of the floor were nasty. That being said, I would visit again!

So good. Great service. Amazing pizza. There's nothing more to say. My sister loves the thick crust, but I'm just more of a regular gal. Also just a warning the spicy sauce is pretty dang spicy so beware!

The Guy on the left needs to stop flirting and focus on the job.

The entire time the guy on the left was making my pizza, he was just throwing toppings on, being sloppy, and wouldn't stop talking to his coworker while making my pizza. Pizza had toppings in only one spot as if he didn't know how to place toppings. Do better!

21 and up only restaurant and craft cocktails!…read more Locals of Adel called and invited us out to try this new restaurant. They had a sitter for the weekend. They were really excited of the idea of this place that had just opened on the town square. You can get dressed up and make a reservation or you can wing it like we did. We walked in, fingers crossed on an early Saturday evening. We had five in our group. The hostess stands at a repurposed single record player. She asked if we had a reservation and made it work when we told her we did not. She asked if we preferred the bar or table and we said whatever was available. She grabbed some help and they threw a table together for us. Kudos for getting us in. The decor is dark with this lovely warmth to it. The red and white brick on the walls was exposed in the renovation contrasting the black walls and ceiling. No noisy televisions. All the staff are dressed dressed as if it was an upscale restaurant. The bartenders were classy and busy shaking up the drinks. You don't have to dress up to get in, but you definitely could and no one bats an eye either way. The waiter quickly came and brought waters for the table, but also took drink orders. Everyone ordered a different drink off the drink menu. Mocktails, beers, cocktails, wine. It's all available. He came back with drinks and reviewed the nightly appetizer specials with us. We were all excited we got a big mix of things to try across the table. Drinks: Our friend who ordered the Old old fashion. He said it was one of the top 3 best he has ever had. My girl friend ordered the Mulberry Lane and really enjoyed it. I tried the Cosmic Cotton Candy and loved the tart flavorful drink. Food. 10 out of 10. Nothing disappointed! We were blown away! Appetizer special that night of Brussels sprouts. Big shareable helping. Fantastic flavor with a great glaze. The tenderness of the sprout made them so easy to devour. I loved the little bit of crunch they had on the outside. Appetizer Fajita Egg Rolls! Grilled chicken. "I've never had chicken eggs rolls" my friend kept saying over and over. "They are nothing to bawk at." I say. Flavored with bell peppers, again spices and topped with a delectable pineapple salsa. The presentation of the plate was very pretty and we had no problem devouring them as well. Appetizer Poutine Americana: We got all the appetizers to come out with the regular meals and I think our friend went feral as he guarded his plate to try and keep these for himself. Buffalo fries smothered in gravy. Topped with braised bison, and their beer battered cheese curds. He finally let me try a little, and wow no wonder he was trying to fight off his wife from the plate. The Native was the burger platter ordered by my husband. Now don't take this lightly. It is a mouth watering 1/3 lbs buffalo. My husband tried to trick me and tell me that I wouldn't enjoy it, but once I got my half I didn't put it down. The spices they used with the flavor of the buffalo meat was a burger wet dream. He upgraded and got the cheese curds with his burger and the whole table was just head over heels for these cheese curds. They are like curds we have never had anywhere! Yes they are beer battered. When the menu says they are puffy, they are not lying! It was so light and fluffy and we just loved every little nibble. We are so glad we ordered the way that we did. Trying so many different things all in one sitting. Everyone was blown away. So much so I am ready to make the trip back out from Des Moines just to steal my girlfriend for the night so we can try more! I cant believe how excited we were over this food. We finally filled up and calmed down by watching the bartenders work their magic on drinks. Constantly moving back and forth, filling orders. I am so excited for Adel to have this place. It's got class, but wont turn you away. It's got the cool dark atmosphere so you can have a quiet dinner with friends and build up those relationships. The staff was great, and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend you get in there. If not just for a drink, but a meal too.

We sat at the bar (you can make reservations for the bar, which is our favorite place to sit-highly recommend getting reservations for the weekend nights!). I love that when you drive up, you can see all the greens growing inside. We placed our order, then had a quick chat with the friendly young man at the window. But there wasn't much time for conversation because as promised, we got the world's freshest salads. It was so quick. We got home an opened up our salads and they looked amazing. My husband got the southwest salad and I got the Caesar salad. They were both delicious. Everything was incredibly fresh and so tasty. We really liked the Salad Girl dressings as well. I'm super picky about salads, and if it's not fresh, then I'm not interested. This was easily the best salad I've ever had. My Mother has been having their lettuce delivered practically since the beginning and I am always impressed with the freshness and flavor. Unfortunately, their facilities tours were not available during our visit, but I'd love to take the tour sometime. I will be insisting on visiting Clayton Farms Salads every time we visit Ames.

4/14/26 3:15 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: We were very excited to try the food here, but we weren't too impressed, unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Wrap w/chicken, Chicken Pesto w/no cherry tomatoes, Firehouse Chimichurri w/steak and no cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Smoothie, and Farmer's Punch. For starters, all of the produce was fresh and crisp (which is always a plus), but you can tell that meat is not their forte. The chicken tasted as if it were precooked, frozen chicken (not saying that's a bad thing, just didn't seem as if it was freshly cooked), and the steak was full of almost inedible gristle. The overall flavor of the food was pretty lackluster as well, besides on the Chicken Pesto; the balsamic vinaigrette was very overpowering. The Caesar Wrap was large, but the sandwiches were quite small portion-wise. The Chocolate Smoothie tasted more like a green smoothie with chocolate protein powder, and we had a really hard time keeping it mixed; sadly, we didn't finish it :( The Farmer's Punch, on the other hand, was really good! Service: The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person who greeted us was friendly, but not particularly social, if that makes sense? It almost seemed as if they didn't have enough time for us. They were polite and quick with getting our order to us, though. Ambiance: Inside is quite small and not meant for a dine-in experience; there are no tables at all. This is definitely a pick-up/to-go/drive-through type of establishment. It's kept very clean, though, from what we could see.

The feel and ambiance... mixed with a touch of nostalgic. Upon entering you are greeted with tables and chairs inches from the door. We thought that we entered from the side door. There was no host stand or sign stating that you should order in the back at the kitchen. We were confused. During our meal the radio was playing, and not nice music but a crude talk show that happened to be talking about someone getting a Brazilian wax... You'd think the place could pay for Spotify or music without ads... The booths were a tad old and crusty - But I suppose that's where the nostalgia comes in. The food... much to be desired. It was all cheap just okay. Everything lacked flavor. Nothing to write home about. The salads were massive and a great bargain. The cheese bread was disappointing, it was just melted cheese on a sub bun with store bought sauce. For a location called sauce and dough company. This was expected to be a highlight, but ended up being something that could easily be made at home. The pizza was decent, but confusing at best. For someone's first time, I'd expect there to be signs or mentions that the honey should go on the crust... I only found that out after once I read reviews. The crust was dry and lacked flavor without the honey or other seasoning... Am I the only one that thinks that you should not need honey to make pizza palatable. Also, if you add honey you add 70 cals each tablespoon. I know I didn't come to eat healthy but also... Everyone is right, so many toppings and cheese. But again, lacks flavor. The prices... very reasonable. We got two large salads, two beers, an app and a large pizza for $50. Very reasonable. Overall, I won't be back but am glad I at least tried an Ames staple.

The shrimp was cooked well and the ingredients were fresh. My daughter loved the garden salad with balsamic dressing as well as how crispy the veggies were. The Cajun Fettuccini was nice and creamy with a slight kick from the seasonings; it meshes really well. The Pulled Pork BBQ Mac could've been a little cheesier in my opinion (I like a lot of cheese lol), but overall, the flavor was good and the pork was quite tender. Mixing the flavor of the BBQ with the Mac and the crispy onions was definitely a great choice! Can't forget the cheesy garlic bread, which was so good! It was perfectly soft and crunchy all at the same time and was packed with a garlic punch. I also really enjoyed the lemon Parmesan broccoli. It wasn't overcooked, so it still had a bit of a crunch and the flavor combo was perfect! Service: all of the employees were very nice as well as efficient. All of the food was packed nicely in bags that were sturdy enough to reassure us that the bottoms wouldn't burst out lol. Ambiance/atmosphere: the interior was kept up well and seemed very clean. It's a very relaxing Irish pub vibe with a variety of seating options and lots of TVs. Our drinks came out quickly and the food followed shortly thereafter. I got a martini and it was very well prepared. My wife got a glass of wine from their decent wine list. For dinner, I had the lamb burger, which was quite tasty. It was a good combination of flavors and the fries were hot and crisp. My wife got a naked burger with a side salad. The creamy Parmesan was very tasty and it was a nice bed of greens. A table next to us had some sort of a problem with one of the dinners and the server tried many many times to get the customer to order a replacement, but he said he was OK with what he got. When she brought the check to them she made sure to take that off since he did not eat it and would not accept a replacement. They seem shocked at this, but I wondered why they just didn't get a replacement! Great service by that server. She was also our server and did a fantastic job with us. The set up in this area was nice. It was a bar with high top tables and with booth also. The staff were all very friendly and you could see others sitting up at the bar enjoying their meals. The lamb burger was our choice for the meal tonight. We got one to share with a side of Brussels sprouts. Like we were told, the Brussels sprouts were really good. I ate them like candy as they had a nice fresh taste to them. Then I bit into the lamb burger. - Drool. Can I please go have another? The flavor of the meat was really good.
