They. LOCKED. THE. DOOR. We ordered and paid online via their user-unfriendly website. Arrived on time to pick up the order and saw from my car only 2 tables of customers and no other activity, so I wondered if they were closed or if I had the wrong location. I watched another patron go to the door and be unable to open it. What looked like a customer went to speak with that person through the door but didn't let her in. I then went to the door only to find it LOCKED! Both doors! Locked! This was 3 hours before their closing time. Two employees watched me from the prep area as I shook the door trying to open it to get in. A table crammed full of about 6 people in black shirts watched me as they ate their pizza. I walked to the windows indicating (to all of them watching me) the time and mouthing that I was picking up a pizza. They all watched me and then looked away. A customer from the only other occupied table came to push open the locked door for me. A customer! He said the last person couldn't get in either. A girl returned to his table after saying goodbye to her friends at what I now realize is a table of employees in uniform relaxing, eating there, watching me outside trying to get in. I asked why the door was locked and the girl said "The employees are trying to eat. They need time to eat. They just need some time to eat. They have got to eat!" She was exasperated and spoke as if this was a regular practice of locking out customers who arrive to pick up the food they already paid for online or those coming in to order. The 2-3 people behind the line refused to acknowledge or apologize for having locked the door. A man only said when I pressed him about it that he had no idea about the door and that it must have locked by accident. He couldn't look me in the eyes. Still, nobody went to unlock the mysteriously-locked door for me. My cooked pizzas were sitting there on wax paper and I waited for the woman to box up the two pizzas and to figure out the beverages that I ordered online. They voluntarily said nothing about the door or having watched me trying to enter the restaurant through a locked door. When the table full of employees was finished eating their group meal and started to clean up their table, one girl walked to the door and easily unlocked it. That took her literally one second and she knew exactly how to do it. No effort at all. The door was intentionally locked to keep customers out while the employees took a group dinner break. To sit there or stand behind the line and watch a woman trying to get in while it was pouring rain on her was beyond outrageous. It was completely unacceptable. I had already paid online for the pizza! Did I say it was pouring rain outside? I did mention this was 3 hours before their closing time, right? I think I mentioned it was a group of about 6 uniformed employees watching me from their dining table and 2 behind the line, did I not? I really have never experienced anything as bad and kind of embarrassing at any other pizzeria or restaurant. Or at any other business for that matter. I forgot to mention the pain in my shoulder from pulling quickly on a large door that was shockingly locked. For NOT ONE of those people to have come to the door and to have just sat there or to have stood behind the line watching me repeatedly tug at the door assured me how intentional the act of locking me out really was. I won't comment on the pizza, because no matter how good or bad it may have been, I will never return to Blaze pizza. With supervision/management/policies like theirs, this location will not survive. Visited Blaze Pizza for the first time today. Girl taking order was very friendly and helpful in explaining how to order. I wasn't fond of them putting a metal number on my pizza. I understand the purpose to know who ordered what but it looks like an unhealthy practice, cleanliness wise. Anyhoo, pizza came out very quickly. I'm a pizza gal and I think the pizza tasted "okay." Not great, nothing too special. Crust was browned on the bottom from the pizza oven yet soggy from the sauce. Probably won't go for a 2nd try. I was excited to try Blaze Pizza because I heard they had gluten free crust. However, the online ordering process was horrible because I was only allowed to add one ingredient. When you click on one ingredient, the other ingredient disappears. So, I was forced to go inside the restaurant and stand in a long long line this past Sunday. The good news is that I was allowed to order multiple ingredients which were sprinkled lightly along the pizza. The other bad news is that my pizza was soggy wet. It had no firmness making it difficult to eat. Maybe, it was the toppings I ordered or the gluten-free crust. The only possible wet ingredients were the artichokes and the pizza sauce. Though, I always order gluten-free pizzas and never had this problem. Nevertheless, I was in a hurry and did not return to complain about my order. The health Department should shut you down and charge you with OSHA violations for expecting staff to work in conditions like that. Who fires an open brick oven in an enclosed space with no AC? This place has redeemed itself. First time I went I can see why they received some of the reviews they had. Out of gluten free pizza (the actual reason I went to the location was for the GF option) toppings were to the bottom of the barrel and no refills in sight. However the most recent time I visited was a completely different experience. Extremely helpful staff, all bins full and I created my own delicious GF pizza. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish there was an option to put the cheese on last. I prefer my toppings under the cheese (doesn't get burnt that way) but with the assembly line that doesn't seem possible. Great pizza for a great price and will definitely visit again. read more

But the two times I went there in the last few months, as well as the large 7 topping late pizza ordered today was a DISAPPOINTMENT and unfortunately POOR ATTITUDE from the staff I dealt with in the past and the person who made this pizza. I can understand there were 7 toppings. But GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Did you have to drop jalapeños in a couple of piles ? So the customer has to reposition them? We've eaten here several times over the last six months and will be back, regularly. The thick crust is great as is the choice of toppings. If you ask them to mix about 1/3 of the spicy sauce with 2/3 of the regular sauce, it is great. The spicy sauce lives up to its name and is way too hot for me. This is the Chipotle of pizza places.. stand in line, pick your pizza, have it made, wait for it to bake and either dine in or take it to go. One of the staff had no clue how to properly make their pizza. The place felt like it had no AC between the 100 degree weather outside and flaming pizza oven inside. The coconut drink they have I loved but the White Top pizza felt greasy and flavorless.. my friends Link In pizza was much better. This pizza is initially very thin crust although you can alter that. Apparently there's also a way to get free pizza from them right now but the guy working the register didn't share that info with us. Overall we weren't blown away by the food or our experience.. I'd rather eat at Little Caesars or even better is Dominoes across the street for a much cheaper price and sadly better pizza I think. read more

I have to say we were kind of disappointed. We realize that it is pretty new location, but I guess we expected more. The pizza was okay, but not great. The burnt crust taste overpowered the pizza and toppings flavor. They were out of cups for sauces and also out of marinara for the knots. The napkin dispensers were empty. The tables and floors were very much in need of a good cleaning as there were food scraps and trash everywhere. I do not see this becoming a regular stop for us in Martinsburg. There are other places that are cleaner than this. We did not see any of the employees cleaning the customer areas during our entire time there. The customers did have to clean up the tables before suing them on several occasions. Disappointed during our visit. read more

I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about! Stopped in today - my first time - and ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and one that was half veggie and the other half sausage, bacon, ham etc. Took 5 mins to make and they weren't burnt and the flavor was GREAT!! Excellent selection of different drinks and then the regular fountain drinks. There was a line but it moved very quickly... I was impressed. The tables needed to be cleaned when we sat down, but this is the same on most busy fast-food places... Takes a minute with a couple of napkins. Overall I really enjoyed the experience. It was great to be able to choose your own sauce and add your choice of cheeses and veggies. Good flavor and six slices of thin crust is better than paying for a loaf of bread under soggy veggies in my opinion... I'd stopped buying Pizza Hut and Domino's because of the base and lack of choice. They've got my vote and I'll be back. Really enjoyed it! read more

I stopped by on last Saturday (7/6/18) with my daughter. We ordered two White Top pizzas. Blaze Pizza is new to Martinsburg and I really wanted to like this place, but it definitely fell short. The best part about the experience was that the line moves pretty fast when ordering. Other than that, the pizzas that we ordered were very bland and the worst part is that the crust had an overall burnt taste that overpowered the toppings. We didn't find this out until we got home with the pizzas. My daughter actually started adding spices and extra cheese to the pizza to add more flavor but the burnt flavor of the crust still overpowered the toppings. We ended up throwing both pizzas in the trash and finding something to cook at home, which is what we should've done in the first place. This was definitely a one time visit. If you try them, hopefully your experience will be better than ours. read more

We were looking for something to eat for lunch. And drove past this place. Never heard of it before, we were curious enough to stop and try it out. And boy am I glad we did. It's your typical subway/chipotle style ordering system but with pizza. They get you through the lines quickly. Have plenty of toppings, cheeses, and sauces to choose from. And the pizza only took 4 minutes to cook. I got the BBQ chicken pizza and it was delicious. Reasonably priced and they give you a whole pie to yourself. I love it that the food is fresh. With that said, we were a large group so we decided to get tables first as there was a long line. We found the tables could not be moved (they are attached to the floor) The restaurant style itself, reminded me of a cafeteria. The people behind the counter asking what you'd like eat and sliding it down the line to the next person. One person puts your choice of sauce on the dough then passes it to the next person for cheeses, then onto toppings. You stand in line to order, you go back up to pick up your order, you clean you tables yourselves. I thought the prices were a bit high. Our pizzas were not evenly cooked. Just right on one side, slightly burnt on the other. Flavor was fine, no better or worse than other pizza's. They've only been open 3 weeks we went so I think they are still trying to get their "groove", which may explain why the tables were not cleaned, (we had to ask someone to come over to wipe them down). One trash receptacle was completely overflowing and the spot were the other one was supposed to be, there was no trash can. They ran out of red sauce and sausage (but brought more from the back) they were extremely busy with at least 10 people behind the counter and a line to the door. Visit started off great. Was greeted at the counter, lady told me how everything works. Lots of toppings and salads to chose from. I ended up picking a classic pizza from the board. Another lady then walked down the line asking if each topping was good. Once done I paid and waited for pizza to be cooked. Well the great experience ended there. Pizza looked good when I sat down. Picked up first piece and all toppings fell off and weren't cooked the whole way. The crust was so soggy. I went up to get a box for my pizza to take home, deciding I'll just stick it in the oven when I get home later that night. I asked for a box from a group of like 6 workers, one of them just pointed to where the boxes were stacked. Now don't get me wrong but they pointed me in the direction of rectangular boxes for my round pizza. Why would u hand out these little bread stick boxes for a pizza?? I literally rolled up my pizza and shoved it in. I would give Blaze less stars but the two ladies I delt with in the beginning were super helpful. The guy who cut my pizza never said thanks, and the group I asked about the boxes seemed to be irritated to be bothered. read more

While dinning at this establishment, I witnessed the Manager, James, disregard a customer's concern when approached. He stated he was too busy to talk with them. After talking to the customer, he had multiple confrontations with his employees on the front line. I felt very uncomfortable approaching the staff to let them know my gluten free pizza was undercooked, especially after wittnessing these altercations. Unacceptable behavior in my opinion. I felt very uncomfortable with the managers behavior toward the customer and his staff. I don't believe I will be returning to eat here again while he is working.
