We're from out of town and recently bought a property in Berkeley Springs, so we've been working our way through the local restaurants. Honestly, most have been underwhelming, with only a few exceptions. Mythical Pizza was a very welcome plot twist. We happened to drive by and pulled in on a whim. Even from the outside, the place has personality. Inside, we were greeted warmly by who I think was either the owner or manager. She explained how everything worked, gave great recommendations, and immediately made the place feel welcoming. The decor is quirky in the best way: Bigfoot, aliens, cryptids, paranormal touches, and a little gift shop. It sounds like it could be too much, but somehow it works. If a pizza place and a roadside folklore museum had a charming baby, this would be it. The menu is surprisingly broad, with pizzas, specialty crusts, pastas, salads, folded breads, strombolis, wings, desserts, and more. Since there were too many interesting pizzas to choose from, I ordered the "Flight of the Squonks," three 5 inch signature pizzas. We tried "The Alabama White Thang," "Attack of the 50' Meatball," and "Sprout Man and the Masters of the Pizzeria." All three were genuinely very good, creative without being weird for the sake of weird, and the crust was excellent. We also had barbecue wings. The wings themselves were juicy, meaty, and well cooked. The barbecue sauce was fine, though next time I'd probably ask for sauce on the side and try another flavor. The place was packed, which felt like a good sign, and the energy matched the food: fun, unpretentious, and better than expected. After a disappointing meal elsewhere the day before, where the price point really wasn't justified by the food, Mythical Pizza felt like a small-town restaurant win. Great vibe, warm service, creative menu, and very solid food. Definitely coming back. read more

Visiting from out of town and hubby wanted wings and I didn't feel like cooking so we found Mythical Pizza here on Yelp. From the second we walked in, it felt very welcoming and friendly. I've never seen so many wonderful pizza options on one menu. I wanted all of them! He had the Alfredo Parmesan wings and he said they were delicious. I chose a pepperoni roll (I hear it's a West Virginia thing) and it was very tasty with a boat load of cheese. I personally like a spicer marinara for dipping but it was still very good. Even before you step into Mythical Pizza, you will catch the vibe. Royal Purple exterior with illustrated cryptids beckoning from the windows and doors. The enticing aroma of smoke from real pizza ovens in the air as you park your car. Then you enter and, honestly they had me at 5-stars on aesthetics alone. My husband said, "I hope the pizza is even a tenth as good as their branding!" And it WAS!!! Actually it was 100% as good. Absolutely delicious vegan pizza done right! Cute little pizza place with a strong folklore creature theme. Mothman soda, big foot stuffies, and free cryptid coloring pages for the kids. Really fun theme. Pizza was yummy too. The 10 year old loved the soda bottle labels. The theme really resonates with kids (and may hit your wallet!). Service was minimal but fine. You place orders at a kiosk, grab your own drinks, then wait for them to bring it to you. They've really minimized the amount of employees in the place. But it seemed sufficiently staffed as they were feeding a large number of customers quite quickly. It's just a low service/fast casual dining experience. read more

This is a creative, cool and interesting pizza place. The staff is kind and chill. They make pizza at higher quality than fast food but our 3 pizzas did take 15 minutes(worth the wait!). It provides a good family meal, not super cheap, but not expensive with very customizable offerings for all different types of Pizza. The store is very cool with a lot of knickknacks and merchandise for the brand of the store which are cute, silly and fun to look at! The store even has some arcade games that you can put coins into and play. It is definitely a family friendly restaurant and a cool place to hang out when you wait for your pizza or eat your creative pizza. We had 3 different pizzas. They were all amazing and eaten quickly! They were all well roasted, toasted, cheesy and yummy but one was better than the other two. One of them was super delicious with: corn, jalapeño peppers and barbecue sauce; A great USA style pizza. The other one was a vegetable lovers pizza, but it was kind of a letdown because while the screen you order on showed a bunch of vegetables on the vegetable lovers pizza, the only vegetable actually on the pizza we got was brussels sprouts. The last one was a super rich pesto cheese pizza which lived up to its cheeseolicous expectations. While we were there the workers seem very preoccupied with some drama(dramatic dialogue, jokes, and running around, the manager apologized for the hectic vibes) which was a little frustrating considering many of the tables had crumbs on them and weren't the most suitable to eat on. You know Planet Pizza in Toy Story and the Pixar movies? This place kind of reminded me of that! We came here during our Retreat to get a treat. Two of my friends on properties in the area and we were craving pizza. This place was close by and seemed interesting to us. We entered and were greeted with welcoming service and cool decor of mythical beasts and gift items. They also have ordering tablets as well for placing your order. The gentleman who helped us explained some of the different options and then we placed our order. We each got a few different types of pizza and they're known for their cool names and unique toppings. In addition to the cool Decor they also have a few arcade games that you are able to play while waiting for your pizza. I hopped on one of them with a buddy of mine who we were with and we got to game for a few. There were also some kids that were playing nearby and once we were done jumped on the arcade games and other activities. This place was clean and neatly organized. They also had a gift section wall that featured unique gifts including doctor squish House of dragons soaps which are hard to come by if you don't order directly from their website. We got our pizza in a timely fashion and check some out at the nearby clean tables inside. Once we were done inspecting the pizzas we headed back home but this was a cool spot to visit and I liked that they had many options to choose from. My family loves Mythical Pizza! There were some kinks to work out with the ordering system when they first opened, but don't let those early reviews fool you -- they've worked everything out and the operation runs very smoothly now. You can eat in, pick up via Door Dash or Toast (I recommend the latter), and apparently they even deliver locally. My 5.5 year old inspired this review because he took a bite of his personal size pizza and exclaimed "I would give this place 15 stars." We've tried and enjoyed the speciality pies, but mostly love making our own. Plenty of toppings and drizzles to choose from, and the salads are also wonderful and fresh. So far I've only done pick up orders but the inside is very inviting. There are a handful of square tables, friendly employees, and some random decorations and things to look. Second time we have visited the Berkeley Springs area and the second time we gave Mythical Pizza a chance. Totally disappointed both times. We thought the first time was a possible fluke so we decided to try again. The pizza here is not Mythical but pedestrian, especially the crust. Don't expect anything fancy here. The place is tiny with very simple tables and chairs. Your pizza is served to you in a cardboard box. I don't say these things to be negative, just to set expectations. Some of the best pizza I've had has come from planes like this. The difference is that this one has a very cool cryptid theme. The decor is awesome. The food is all named after 80s movies, cryptid monsters or both combined. We got Batsquatch wings and "Mothman's Favorite pizza", the Stand by Meat. The wings weren't my favorite, but I am extremely picky about wings and want them super crispy, which these were not. However, the Sriracha sauce on them was really good. The pizza was ridiculous. I don't know what they consider to be "extra cheese", because we just ordered the standard pizza as is, and it was loaded with cheese. They were also very generous with the meat Toppings as well. The sauce and dough were very good, and you have the option for several different types of doughs, several filled crust options, several crust toppings, and drizzles as well. They have cryptid themed sodas, and a bunch of cryptid themed merch. While I might not order the wings again when I go back, I'll definitely be going back. If you are looking for a pizza place in the Berkeley Springs area that has vegan and gluten-friendly options - this is the place. The building is somewhat small, but the staff were nice, the vibe was eclectic, and the food was quite good. They have a video game machine, some trivia playing on a tv you could participate in and lots of cryptid themed stuff to look at (or purchase). We ordered in and did not have to wait long for our food. The breadsticks were a big hit with my teen - the pizzas were yummy (bonus points for the Brussels sprouts as a topping option) and they did not skimp on the toppings. Only minor thing we found was that the center of the crust was a bit droopy (which is expected for gluten-friendly, but not for the other crusts) - but still delicious! Ellen and I finally got married! That was the good part. The bad part was that I thought our honeymoon was in Berkeley Springs, when in fact it was White Sulphur Springs, about 3 hours away. It was 9pm, and everything was closed, including Mythical Pizza, which had just closed. The young man let us in, although it was closing time. He prepared a large pepperoni pie, and it seriously was one of the best pizzas I've ever had outside New York. Incredible -- Properly toasted, great sauce, and plenty of mozzarella and pepperoni. The service was great, and the ambiance very cozy. It was so good that Ellen and I ate the whole thing. The moral of the story is, if you need pizza, and you're in the wilds of West Virginia, Mythical Pizza is THE place to go!! read more

Been here a few times and have been on the fence whether I like this pizza or not. At first I thought it was pretty good but the last 2 times I ha e been here its getting worse and worse. I think the pizza when made right is pretty decent. So this last time I ordered we ordered 2 pizzas. The kids pizza with mushrooms and peppers with pesto drizzle and ranch drizzle. And number 2 my pizza had mushrooms and jalapeños. Well they made a mistake and put ranch dressing all over both of them. I mean it covered the entire surface of the pizza. It was really gross! Since I didn't ask for ranch drizzle on my pizza they remade it. They gave us the mistake pizza but I threw it out. Yuk! My kids pizza had too much ranch drizzle but they ate it .....like kids do. But hears the worst part if you eat in which we do.....is that when they cook the pizzas some of the ingredients fall down in the little ovens they use and start burning filling the restaurant up with smoke or nasty fumes. This last time my kids were complaining that their eyes were burning. It was bad. We tried to eat as fast as we could and get out of there. read more

Had good experiences inside the restaurant, till we made the awful mistake of ordering to be delivered on line. Food never showed, Caitlyn (rude) told us it was our problem (because the manager Cal had told her to say that) and we needed to sort it out with DoorDash (according to them as DoorDash is a 3rd party company its nothing to do with them when customers dont get the food they paid for). Refused to replace the order they said was delivered when it wasn't and refused to refund. I posted a negative feedback on their Facebook page of which they decided instead of apologizing and refunding the order I never received, to have a full blown argument instead. Ridiculous. The pizza is good, the attitude towards problem resolution is abysmal. Update: Further to my review, Cal the manager proceeded to trash me on Facebook without using my name with more lies about how they had the order ready by 30 minutes early (order placed at 6:25 with estimated 6:40 delivery and how I had been rude to their wonderful young staff. However, they blocked me on Facebook so I couldnt defend myself with 'facts' and so I proceeded to call the restaurant and Cal stated I was banned from the restaurant and hung up. Never at any point was any recourse offered by the restaurant to resolve the issue i.e. replacement, order, refund etc etc etc. Just character assassinations on Facebook. Its a shame, the Pizza is good, nice interior but customer service stinks to high heaven. Update: Reached out to the owner Tony and explained the situation and offered him my phone number to discuss and resolve the issue as Cal had taken it way too far. His response was a lengthy email of how his staff are right, a bunch of nonsense lies stating his employees offered to resend or refund the order (exact opposite happened) and then ordering me to remove my negative review(s) and write a letter of apology to his staff. Loving the ordering system, both online and in restaurant. I have watched as some older customers did have an issue with the system (same ones that have issues with the type at sheetz) and then I watch the great staff members come around and walk them through it. We were in Berkeley Springs for a weekend and decided to try this place. The pizza was fantastic! I loved that everything could be customized and that they even offered vegan options. They also offered their own flavored drinks in the cryptozoology theme. There restaurant itself has a very cool vibe that has Bigfoot and Mothman on the wall and a couple of video games/ pinball machines. They also have an area where kids can paint rocks to put in this area before you enter the store. Very cool place and we will definitely stop by again when we are in town! read more

Not coming back. Ordering system was clunky and cumbersome to get through. Staff wasn't very helpful. Gluten free crust was soggy. Order was wrong and they admitted they forgot to add some of the toppings. Was not offered a new pizza, was given raw spinach to put on top?! By this time the pizza was not hot enough to even wilt the spinach. Greek salad was more feta cheese than vegetables and there was no cucumber. IMO it's not a Greek pizza without cucumber. read more
