Today I ordered three 11" pizzas. I won't detail all the toppings because it would be like reading War & Peace. Overall they were fine, except for three minor issues. 1. My son's pizza was cut in a most bizarre manner, with different sized pieces, and a very small triangle in the center. He also said it was slightly burnt. 2. My pizza was ordered with balsamic glaze, and looks like a bottle of glaze was dumped on it, making for a very messy pizza. 3. My wife said her pizza was slightly burnt as well. When Mod isn't available Blaze to the rescue. I enjoy the freshly prepared pizza pies with high rise dough. BYO is my go-to. Normally I would never overburden a pizza when the toppings but Blaze pizza is different. I can get immense veggie action with my cheat meal. I go overboard. Vegetables galore, a protein or two and two cheeses. The extra dough does the heavy lifting and when prepared extra well done, it's gooood. This location as of late is hit or miss. I am a little bummed that Blaze changed its menu. I was a big fan of the Red Vine (no longer on the menu), although I suppose I could recreate it. I'm sure it would be hella expensive. There were these two female workers and didn't bother to acknowledge you when you were in front of them. One of the women was fixing her hair and the second woman decided to help her. Blaze is one of those build your own personal pizza places. I would say that out of the different chains, this one personal pizza size is slightly larger. The employee was super friendly, and he walked me through the options of what they had available. I ordered their original crust, but for an upcharge, you can get gluten-free or cauliflower crust. I chose the red sauce and mozzarella cheese and just put whatever toppings my heart desired. One thing about this place that I like is they charge you less of you were just planning on getting a cheese or two topping pizza. When I politely asked for more onions, I was given only one or two additional slivers, followed by a refusal to add more. The same pattern occurred with basil and other toppings. When I asked about adding a small tomato, I was told it would be "going backwards" in the process and was denied again. I tried to remain calm and collaborative, but the interaction became increasingly awkward. The staff member's tone felt dismissive, and when I asked if he was complaining or arguing, he denied it--yet continued to behave in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The staff here was great--super nice, no issues with glove changes, and very accommodating. Unfortunately, the owner/manager completely ruined the experience. I have a serious dairy allergy, so I asked for the sauce on the side. The employee was happy to do it, but the manager stepped in and started lecturing me, saying "An allergy doesn't make the meal cost less." I never asked for a discount--I was fully prepared to pay the extra $0.79. I was just trying to protect my health and safety. The server welcomed us so nicely, and we went down line deciding what to put on our pizza. It's similar to a chipotle burrito, in the sense you go down the line deciding what to put on your pizza. For this order, we got a regular thin-crust pizza, 2 toppings (mushroom & black olives) with pesto drizzled on top and side of ranch! It was only about $11 for the whole thing. They made it within 15 minutes, and it tasted very fresh. There was a lot of seating available, and the interior felt very comfortable and clean. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for someone who is looking for a quick, tasty, and freshly made style pizza. The pizza was quite good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would normally have rated this place four stars but I'm comparing it to itself a few years ago. I've come here for a while and I order something vegan and my mom always gets a simple pie and she asks for extra cheese. In the past that has been no problem but this time they very carefully measured the cheese and then told her she can't get more cheese with the simple pie, she needs to pay for the one topping. We occasionally receive BOGO coupons in the mail, but the price of an individual pizza seems pretty fair even without the deal. I especially like that Blaze doesn't nickel-and-dime on toppings. They do offer a few premium upgrades, otherwise one flat price includes unlimited toppings. You pick and they put. Yeah, prices have gone up here like everywhere else. I used to order a small side salad with my pizza, but at its current $7.49 price, I don't consider it a good value. We had an outrageous experience here today. First they dropped one of our pizzas on the floor. Ok, mistakes happen. But instead of any apology the pizza guy told us to go all the way to the back of the line to start the order all over again. The line was long and rather than waiting for another 40 minutes or so we decided to get our refund and leave. The girl at the register didn't know how to process a refund and the pizza guy told her " just give them their refund so they'd get out of my store". Yes, exactly his words! This place is run with no manager on duty. In order to process the refund she had to call the manager so they could give her instructions over the phone on how to process it. It took another 20 minutes. With many people waiting in line for their food. As we were waiting for our refund we saw the rude pizza guy messing up a bunch of pizzas, the toppings were sliding of the pizzas in the oven and he just grabbed them of the oven surface full of soot and stuck them back on the pie. A simple "sorry" and nice approach would've solved the issue very quickly, because mistakes do happen, but instead the pizza guy acted very rude and disrespectful, and he kept making comments and talking about us , we were shocked, they have ZERO customer service skills. This was absolutely the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. WE got scolded because THEY dropped our pizza on the floor! Not even mentioning that some employees had their hair down and like I said there's no manager and so there was no one to tell them that it's food safety hazard and that they should wear hair restraints because they have direct contact with food. I came here for the first time with a friend (they're vegetarian) a few weeks ago. The worker was more than helpful when I let her know it was my first time. It is located in a small strip near a larger shopping area, but there is plenty of parking. Getting into the parking lot is a different story because one of the turn-ins is at a busy stoplight- if you want to make it easier, you have to take the alley on the left, which will take you to the back of walmart. It looked really fresh for a pizza with vegetable toppings. I also tried the dough knots, which were just okay. I believe the dough knots are with pesto and cheese on top. They were good, but not great. Overall, great experience. Inside, the interior is very modern, similar to a Chipotle anterior. Plenty of seating for small and large groups. I've been to a few Blaze locations, I'd say this one would be my least favorite. First off it's small in comparison to the other ones. The staff isn't upbeat, almost as if they didn't want to be there. And the parking, a pain, you have to do this weird go around if you want to park in front. I don't bother, I park on this side and walk a bit. Hell, if you're going to be eating pizza on the regular you should be getting in some steps. This place is a little closer to me than the Old Orchard location and parking can get tricky but I find myself coming here most often. Now as for Blaze, I typically get the Build Your Own pizza because I can get two different sauces (white and spicy red), 4 different cheeses (Ricotta, you just gotta!), 4 different types of meat (applewood bacon - negative reports on bacon be damned!), 10 veggie types (load up because this is where you negate the fattening ingredients) which include whole cloves of garlic - gotta keep those vampires away. But wait, no Arugula? I would minus one star but would the punishment fit the crime? Probably not. The pizza maker told me that since my pizza had so many ingredients, it would not be as crispy, perhaps a little bit wet and that the crust wouldn't be able to withstand the weight. I told him "that's the way I like it." After all, they do have knives and forks. With that said, I was only able to eat 4 of my 6 slices but not to worry, they have take out boxes ready for you. I've been wanting to check Blaze Pizza out since they opened earlier the year. It's an identical concept as 100 Calorie Pizza & Salads. They have a number of signature pizzas that take the thinking out of eating. All the signature pizzas are $7.95 and come with a predesignated set of ingredients. For the same $7.95 you can design your own pizza and add as many toppings as you want. There are 4 sauce choices, and roughly 36 toppings to choose from. To me it's sort of a NO BRAINER. I ordered a pizza with the spicy tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, sausage, bacon. Black olives, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, roasted garlic, red onions, mushrooms & Spinach. We washed them down with San Pelegríno Aranciata and just the good ol' beverage bar Barq's root beer. We were the only ones there when we walked in but the place quickly filled up with hungry customers who all got their pizzas very quickly despite the long line. The room is brightly lit and clean with high ceilings so you don't feel cramped even if the dining room is small with about 13 or 14 tables.
