We've ordered from this location five or so times now. It's easy to get to from Busse or NW Highway and has plenty of parking. The shop itself is carryout only and for some reason I'm always waiting longer than my quoted pickup time. Service has always been kind but our orders have always been inconsistent. Whether I get the wrong sauce or the wrong type of wing style, it's something. Thankfully we like just about anything at Lou's and no error has completely ruined our night. Just a bummer when you pay more of a premium for pizza and don't always get what you ordered/paid for. Let's this be a lesson to ourselves. I love Lou Malnattis. By far my favorite chicago deep dish pizza. Granted if u like a lot of cheese, then go with Giordanos but I like less cheese and the sauce of Lou's better. I placed an order online and went to pick it up there was no order, so we left. When we got home I checked on the order and we did place the order so I called the location and asked why my order wasn't there and said I ordered it online and hit that I wanted to pay at the store and the girl said only orders called in can be paid in the store and it doesn't say that online. I have an account and I login so you know who I am and so they should have told me that when I was online that the order would not go through. All of that seems ridiculous to me, where what is the difference if I call or login (with my account) to order my pizza. Heads up that this was a delivery. But the process was smooth and when you sign up you get free delivery. We usually go to other deep dish restaurants due to various factors. Just ordered carryout Hot Honey wings from Park Ridge store. Got em home and dug into the driest wings- I'd more describe them as yesterday's wings kept under a lamp for a day or more. I ordered a pizza over the phone the other night for pick up the staff said it would take 35 minutes but I got there 10 minutes early and it was ready! The pizza was perfectly as ordered. It had a great amount of crisp as I asked for it to be well-done and it was just right. I couldn't find the dimensions of the pizzas online, and I'm glad I ordered a large as opposed to a medium for 3 people because it was a little smaller than I expected and there wasn't any left over (two of us girls probably had 3-4 slices which is basically about half of the pizza and 1 person had the rest - the pieces are cut small since it's not a huge pizza). Next time I would probably get an extra large as my boyfriend with a larger appetite wasn't completely full. For toppings I got full sausage and 1/2 giardiniera. It is $3.55/ingredient for a large thin crust. Even if you order an ingredient on 1/2, you still pay the full amount (it says this on the menu so they are upfront about it). I think it's a little steep for certain ingredients for sure. So it ended up being around $28. Regardless, the pizza was awesome. We all loved it and it was a great treat. First time coming to this location and... not super happy so I'm not sure if or when I'll be back. But I'm not a huge fan of Lou's anyway, so the issue is probably moot. We decided we wanted a heart shaped pizza on Valentine's Day, which is why we went here, since it's one of the closest places that we know does them. When I ordered around 4:45 p.m., they said it would be ready around 6:30. That's no problem; I expected that it would be a while given the novelty of the Valentine's pizza. But my pizza wasn't ready until right about 6:45, and that is after I went to ask how late they were running since my pizza was supposed to have been ready (I'm not really convinced that it wasn't just the next pizza that happened to come out since I asked about it). I forgot how small the heart shaped pizzas are since it's been a few years since I've gotten one, so plan accordingly--it's probably plenty for two people but you might want to add a salad or something just in case. The other problem with their Valentine's pizzas is that they come only in pepperoni, sausage, and maybe cheese, so we just got the one topping instead of two, but they also can't add anything (we wanted to double the pepperoni but they couldn't). That's a general issue with Lou's is that their toppings are kind of sparse, so again no real reason to visit very often. read more

I don't know why they don't just keep this tasty item on the menu permanently, and neither did the store manager Henrique, who likes it as much as I do. It's a higher up corporate decision. However, they were a quite heavy handed on the BBQ sauce this time. It also had a bit over sweet taste, and actually both of us had mild tummy turmoil afterwards. I usually order Giardano's whenever staying near O'Hare, but Lou Manalti's is open an extra hour on the weekend. That matters if the conference or convention ends later. The two competitors are about the same quality and Lou's prices are relatively reasonable. I last ordered a small Lou's which is meant for two people. Sure enough, I was full eating half of it. It wasn't too overwhelming in terms of the cheese. Since the Lou has tomatoes instead of sauce, it was less runny than some of the other options. The buttercrust is not too strong too. (Looking at you Gino's) At the end, you have a delicious deep dish that I wish was readily available outside of Chicago. I will continue to order from Lou's whenever I'm in the area. read more

I am not one to complain but tonight, I actually called the manager and complained about our order. The manager stated he would credit our order I had not opened our pizzas yet, but should have prior to calling. We ordered 2- both a mixture of toppings and both well done. UPDATE: 6/20/2022 When I checked my credit card, it no longer reflected a 133.03 total charged to my card but a pending charge of 98 and change. Our original price quoted was 73.00 for the pizzas by the worker at the Lou Malnati's Park Ridge location and I did add on 2 tiramisu slices and sodas. I still do not agree that when I asked if I could take the receipts of the correct charge(i.e. crediting and re ringing up the purchase) with me to have physical paper proof of the correction, the manager at that time at the Park Ridge location refused to do the transaction citing it was a Sunday and the charge would not show on my credit card anyway at that time. It literally took me saying, "this is not o.k. or alright," and walking out the door with my husband behind me for the manager to correct this after we left. We are not returning to the Park Ridge location. I would rather visit a location with more professionalism and consistency in the quality of pizza. There has been more than one occasion including yesterday that the pizza has been subpar. My husband said that yesterday's deep dish with buttercrust was not that buttery and that the location workers must be having an off day. This has happened before and we did not say anything. Yesterday, was Father's Day and this was part of my husband's father's day gift. I felt the right thing to do was to update the correction was made on the card but should not have transpired the way it did. Yesterday July 16th my boyfriend and I ordered a medium deep dish pizza with sausage, spinach and mushroom well done because I have noticed in the past when I order this type of pizza it is soggy because of the spinach. When we go to another location when visiting family the pizza is cooked perfectly. 5 out of 10 times when we order from Park Ridge location for delivery, the pizza is so greasy and foggy even though we will say crispy crust or well done and pizza is usually not hot or that warm! Until last night, I had never tried Lou's thin crust. Really. The verdict? Pretty freakin' good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the crust on the thin pizzas is a similar version to that on the deep dish pies. The crispy, buttery crust would give Lou away anyday in a blind taste testing. This Lou Malnati's location in Park Ridge is for pickup only and one of our go to pizzerias. The interior is pretty spacious and they usually do a good job at temperature control. I went in 90 degree heat yesterday and it was nice and cool - pretty unusual for a small takeout pizzeria. Unfortunately our last pizza ended up leaking all the way through the box onto my car seat, pizza was a little soggy. Lou's pizza is pretty standard across all of the locations. The Malnati's salad is a winner and has a little of everything: blue cheese, bacon, tomatoes, olives, onions, peppers. They are known for their deep dish and it is one of the better ones in Chicago. The crust is a standout and the Lou pizza has tons of fresh ingredients. You can upgrade to a butter crust which makes it a little richer. I prefer the thin crust here, but it is very thin so you may need to order a larger size. Apetizers are usually a miss here for takeout, so I would focus on pizzas. This is the closet Lou Malnati's to O'Hare, so check it out if you want a taste of Chicago culture on your next quick trip. They also have a freezer full of frozen pizzas - great gifts! read more
