Ordered pizza because it's what I was craving. It's been a bit since I ordered so my app needed an update. Ended up making me sign in and deleted the reward points (flames) that I had. The menu has also changed. There seems to be less options which I am disappointed in. They no longer have anything with garlic apparently. I ordered 2 build your own pizzas with gluten free/vegan crusts. One was supposed to be like a margaritas pizza with chicken. The vegan cheese is so skimpy and while I want some olive oil drizzled on the pizza, it seems to coat it instead. And the tomatoes are not even chopped! What the heck? The other pizza I ordered is a mix of veggies, chicken, and sausage. Again still stingy with the vegan cheese to the point the pizza is dry Place hardly looked busy for a Saturday at 6pm. Blaze is still a go-to when we are hungry and want something quick without cooking but as time has gone on, we are not as enamored as we were when this location first opened. You can no longer get a build your own pizza (BYO) for under $10. Our recent order on the app was $35 for two BYO, two drinks and a 10% tip. Understandable that prices have risen but it is no longer the bargain it once was. My main complaint, however, is the lack of unsweetened beverage options. Once upon a time, fresh unsweetened iced tea was offered but no longer. Without this, it would be nice to have an unsweetened option in the bottled section but nope, all soda (and Diet Coke doesn't count). I will no longer "dine in" as I want more than water with my pizza. I've also told them this in the survey they emailed us so we will see if management listens! read more

After finding out our beloved Red Rossa pizza had closed, we decided Blaze was the "closest" to that kind of pizza that was open. We arrived shortly after 6:00pm on a Sunday. A few tables were full and a couple people were having their pizzas made while a couple others waited to be helped. Although the lime was short, we waited longer than normal to have ours started. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and peppy. He apologized for the wait (mentioned they were short staffed) and was quick at making our three pizzas. He checked with us along the way to make sure they looked pleasing to us. The pizzas cooked up fast and were ready to eat! I had the BBQ Chicken. The flavors were good with the Gorgonzola cheese and bbq sauce melding well. But my crust was hard! It seemed more like a crunchy thin crust pizza than I feel like theirs normally do. The end crust was really hard and I left most of it on the pan. Our kids chose a pineapple/ham pizza and seemed to enjoy that. My husband had the Hot Link and agreed the crust was harder than normal. Now, maybe I was just dreaming of and missing my Red Rossa pizzas but Blaze just didn't hit the spot for me this time. Usually don't leave reviews for places, but I've never been to a place with more disrespectful employees and horrible service. The minute we walked in, the girl said they were closing soon and the store didn't close for another hour. They continued to act super annoyed with us, snapping at us while they took our orders and even yelling at a customer who came in closer to closing time. I get triggered when someone yells in general, but coming from an employee who we are literally paying customers of was so rude. I work in the food industry and have people come in minutes before closing all the time. Good pizzas when they turn out but this location seems to disappoint me every visit. Just visited again last Friday. We have taken breaks from coming here and it has been consistent with experience. They did take responsibility of a large mistake. I won't post the details but I'm thankful they took care of it. I wish this location was satisfactory but it has not been with service. We get both the vegan options and regular options. It makes it seem like it throws off the pizza makers when I order here. We typically spend over $40.xx for 4 pizzas and drinks. We wait at least 15-30 min for our total order and have actually waited over an hour before. Good location that keeps constantly busy. Line is always long no matter the time: lunch, dinner, open, close. I won't recommend this location for first pick until they figure out efficiency. While you can choose to go with one of their signature pies, they really shine when you choose to Build Your Own Pie (BYOP). So here's the 411 on Blaze's BYOP - everything is personalized; you choose the sauce, the crust, the toppings, and the cheese. Tip: One of the crust choices is gluten-free, and I was particularly impressed with how they handle baking pies for people who are gluten intolerant. My friend has this problem, and when he requested the gluten-free, they asked if it was due to an allergy/restriction or just a preference. When he made it clear it was a dietary restriction they switched their gloves for his pie. They also have a separate sauce that's just for gluten-free pizzas, since they don't want the ladle to cross-contaminate the crust. They even use a separate pizza cutter! The charge an extra few bucks for the gluten-free crust, but the peace of mind is totally worth it :-) Bottom line: Chain pizza that's good enough that you might actually come to crave it! Just visited this location this evening. We ordered a GF meat eater and Hawaiian with pepperoni. The 2 ladies assembling our pizzas were way more involved in discussing with each other their displeasure with fellow employees and swearing in front of us to make a decent looking pizza. Service was pretty fast even though I must have thrown the cashier off by paying with cash, as it took her a while to figure out my change. One other small thing, my pizza was cut weird. It is cut into 6 pieces, but the person cut in half, then half the other way, then one of those pieces in half. So essentially I ended up with 2 1/4 slices and 4 1/8 slices. I was so excited to see that Blaze Pizza opened another location in the Des Moines area. They are making it easier and easier to enjoy the best fast fired pizza in Iowa. This new location lived up to expectations and even exceeded it. The pizza was spot on perfectly cooked. All four of our pizzas were delicious with a perfectly crispy bottom. The s'mores pie was so good warmed up in the oven. What made this visit to Blaze exceed all the others? The new dough knots. Hands down the best garlic pesto bread knots anywhere. The pesto was amazing and made the traditional garlic breadstick item way better. Besides the pizza and fresh toppings, what truly sets Blaze apart from other fast fired chains like Five Pie is the friendly service and store cleanliness. This new location was no different. I went to the private Yelp! Elite event for this spot just to get to really see it and this is definitely one of the bigger Blaze Pizzas in town. The pizzas were made perfectly, per usual. They were super friendly and very efficient. They have these new dough-knots which is just they're pizza dough with garlic, butter, parmesan, and pesto (I think?) and they're pretty good! One of the best pizza joints in town with a varieties that offer you lots of customization options. First went in here for the private Yelp Elite event and been multiple times since then.
