I have never been disappointed, and I am so glad I found Matthew and Mojo. Matthew's process is of the highest quality and is very consistent. Each haircut begins with a confirmation of my desired hairstyle. If I have any questions about barber terminology or potential changes, Matthew always explains things clearly and concisely. He is extremely professional while also being super down to earth. His haircuts are incredibly relaxing. So much so that I often find myself falling asleep in his chair. At the end of each haircut, he provides a handheld mirror to review the haircut and also offers product to style in case I am heading out somewhere after. I cannot recommend Matthew enough! They scheduled me with Brandy who was awesome, so attentive, educated me about clarifying shampoo, did a very relaxing wash and blow dry, and my hair looked like a Kpop stars by time she was finished. Extremely reasonable pricing (compared to where I'm from, San Francisco Bay area in California), I was shocked $75 for a very individualized cut, wash and blow dry, with lovely conversation along the way. Glad I waited til getting to Hawaii to get my hair did! The salon was clean, took a hot minute to locate cuz we didn't follow the driving instructions on their website. If u come from pedestrian level street u need to take elevator to 7th floor of the high rise.

Parking is limited to street parking...its Monserrat so that's pretty much the norm. The shop itself is really small. There are 4, maybe 5 chairs total. When we walked in there were a couple of men seated and waiting. We explained that we needed a haircut for my son and a trim for my daughter (her first!). They seated my son and asked us what hairstyle we wanted for him. We were able to show them some photos of how it was before and they did a great job recreating it. As i said, my daughter just needed a trim (she's 3) to keep her hair healthy. The lady that cut her hair was nice, but didnt speak any english. Another lady had to translate for us. Sher was nice and gave us a lock of hair to keep as a souvenir as it was her first haircut. Despite this, her trim took literally less than 5 minutes and was more expensive than my son's haircut. I believe my son's cut was $20 and my daughter's trim was $25. Also the lady doing the translating was overly concerned about money. As soon as my daughter was done she was demanding payment despite the fact that my son was still in the middle of his haircut. We had to ask repeatedly if they could charge for both at once so we didn't have to run our card twice. She begrudgingly agreed but didn't seem happy about it at all. Not sure what she expected, not like we were gonna run out and leave our son there without paying. All in all, the experience was....ok. Kids were happy with their haircuts and our wallets were happy with the price despite the trim being more than the haircut (together they were still cheaper than my son getting a haircut at the other place) which doesn't quite make sense to me, but i think that's just the normal price gouging for females vs males when it comes to things like this.

Those were the two basic trims you could get. Now days the trimming is a more customized depending on the customer's wants. Paul and his team do a great job cutting your hair. The price is reasonable, the cutting is great, they listen to how you want your cut to go and do their best to meet your expectation. There is no parking, but street parking is usually available. You can't go wrong with a reasonably priced hair cut with a friendly and attentive staff. They do trims for wonen too.
